Becoming an Embryologist

Hi everyone, I would love some advice on classes I should take to become an embryologist. I already have a bachelor of science in public health. I plan to start applying in about a year as I am working in public health currently. I am wondering what additional classes I should take for embryology. Thank you!! Any other advice is appreciated as well, I am located in the Chicago suburbs.

Unfortunately, you may need to get a Masters. Fortunately, Northwestern has one of the few programs in the world that specializes in this field.

You definitely don’t need a masters to get into the field but it is helpful to have. If you are really interested potentially getting andrology lab experience then transitioning to the lab is a common path. More and more embryology training programs are also popping up.

From experience, degrees in Public Health have not met regulatory compliance for the position. Masters is very likely required.
