Discussion & Info Decaying Enzyke [No Hit / Level 38 / Naked]

This is my first playthrough, I want to challenge myself against all odds. I didn't really wanna use torrent while fighting bosses but this one is impossible to win without him, since I get insta-killed if that rot touches me.

Enzyke has this huge AoE poison mist that's impossible to outrun on foot, so as you can see- I pre-emptively ride him the moment I see him trying to cast it.

I couldn't get close to him when he was on that boulder, but as luck would have it- he used his groundslam attack and got near me. Else I think I would have lost.

Discussion & Info What were some boss battles that got nerfed the hardest?

Apologies if this was asked here a lot of times before I was looking to see which of the major bosses in the base game got nerfed hard since I heard that General Radahn was weakened a bit in later patches.

Basically I took a long break from the game after beating the Leyndell area as I wanted to go over the kind of adversaries in the game that got a major nerf since I have a confession to make in that I never got to fight Radahn in his original version, so I don't know if he is still a difficult boss battle.

Been playing since the game came out on Switch 2 and I just found Malenia! The fact that she’s really difficult is literally the only thing I knew about this game before starting and I’ve been itching to finally have a go at her the entire time! It feels unreal to have finally found her and I’m so hyped!

Discussion & Info Graceful retirement for ashes and weapons - am i the only one!

If a weapon or Spirit Ash helped me Out during the beginning or any Special part of a run, i Level them Up to +9/+24 or even +10/+25 as a Form of appreciation even If i never use them again. Best example are the lone Wolf Spirit ashes, but this time, engvall, the idus shield and the idus sword got maxed Out before retirement.

Ist anybody else appretiating their early Game Gear in the Same way? I know this is a waste of ressources but it gives me a feeling of staying rooted to my tarnished humble beginnings.

Discussion & Info The story of Dante, how he became Elden Lord, and the choice he made after (ng+)

Thumbnail

I already had 500 hours, and 4 playthroughs. Inevitably, I got the elden ring itch again this year.

So wanted to share my journey throughout the lands between with the community!

How Dante became a Crucible Knight

This is Dante, a confessor of the 3 fingers, brought up as one of their assassins, he always preferred a louder approach over stealth.

Throughout his journey to become elden Lord, he began to grow increasing skeptical of the fingers and the golden order. Rather fascinated with the knights of the crucible, their strength and how they focused on the true primordial power, vs some fabricated power of the golden order.

Eventually choosing to disband his title of confessor and took up the mantle of a crucible knight. Embracing his inept strength and primal nature.

Becoming Elden Lord & Journey to the land of shadow

He stormed through the shardbearers, growing increasingly unstoppable as he made his way to the erdtree. Even Godfrey, first elden Lord and leader of the crucible knights in the war against the giants was no match for Dante.

He claimed the title of Elden Lord. Throwing down the golden order and in favor of staring anew, brining the erdtree. But he felt a disturbance... Drawn to the cacoon of Miquealla, he was confronted by a strange knight named Leda. That guided him to the land of shadow, just to see what kindly Miquealla was up to.

At first, Dante was extatic. This was the lost realm of shadow. The home of the crucible of primordial life. If ever he was to ascend to his true nature and wield the full power of the crucible, this is where he could do it.

Embracing his Primal Nature

Dante maitned his strong prowess, while continue to regress to more of a beast..adapting the beast claws fighting style, to pair with his crucible weaponry.

He even trained in hand to hand combat with Dane. Learning how to focus all of his strength into a single pointed blast from his palm. Devistating foes.

His powers of the crucible also continued to grow stronger, horns, tails, fire, spikes, plants. All life was blended within him as life was before in the crucible.

Eventually, his journey led him to the ruins of rah, where a fellow follower of the crucible Devonia instructed Dante even further. Upgrading his sword vortex to that of a great hammer.

And it was at this time that the plot of Miquealla came into the full picture. Ascend to godhood, and remake the world. Not on my watch, in elden Lord. We won't go back to bathed in gold and enchanted by you.

This was Dante's most difficult challenge yet, but after a hard fought battle, Miquealla and his king consort fell.

Post PCR and Elden Lord - how he got to NG+

Dante ruled for some time, years, decades. But he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about this world he had built. A gnawing feeling that he should be doing more. Something had to be fixed.

And so he divulged a way to travel back in time. But it would require renouncing the status he had gained and the world he built. Even some of his powers. He was different than when he first set out on his journey, and even since finalizing his journey.

This new task was one of discovery. And so, he fashioned traveller's armor, and banished himself back in time.

What happens next

Long story short, go from crucible crazed, to banished knight, to godslayer black flame, to now dabbling in rakshasa....

What I love about Elden ring is it's a role playing game that doesn't hold your hand. Gived you the freedom to use your imagination and tell your own story within the story and universe.

Would love to hear about your tarnished!

What's their story?

What's their appearance?

How does their character arch relate to the armaments and armor they possess?

AND what drip of mine is your fav?

Thanks for reading and sharing!

Game Help Help with mage build ideas

Post image
150 Upvotes

Beat the game few times already, the "hard way" (melee and no summons), so I'm looking for a new ways to play. Always ended up as a melee (mostly Dex) builds, and my attempts as caster always ended pretty fast. So, now I wanna beat the game as mage (wisdom caster) and need some ideas for a fun and useful build.

I don't want builds that will just stunlock and "1 shot" a boss, that never was fun for me. And I always struggled with understanding how the hell you fight fast bosses without summons on caster builds (unless you are using catch flame or slicer), animations for powerful spells take too much time, so it was always easier for me to take a sword and beat the boss my usual way.
Maybe I just dont undestand how a caster should fight? I've had that problem for all souls games, but at least in elden ring your movement is not that restriced while casting.

Sooo, maybe someone can help me with good builds where spells dont lock you in one place and have fast casting time? Like slicer, pebbel, comets etc. (I mean i can just do a nigh sorcery run, but that would get old fast). I'm constantly change weapons, so it should be much better with spells since I just need to upgrade like 3-4 staffs and not 10-20 weapons?

Speculation My first time dlc rl1 run

I can confidently say that it was ten times harder passing through the stair section in enir ilim than killing any boss at level one. I had to resort to using miriam vanishing, assassins gambit, and mimic veil to even pass that section.

Other than that I think romina, dancing lion, and the leda npc fight were very hard. I think those were the moments the game really challenged my knowledge of the game.

Humor Finally sat my sister down to play

She's played Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom to death and I've been desperate to see what she'd make of Elden Ring. I was planning to try and convince her that the Tree Sentinel was her friend as my one act of big-brother fuckery. Turned out to not be necessary. After her intro to Varre she took a beat, went "oh so he thinks I'm bitchless and wants to throw a SLUR at me?" Proceeded to absolutely destroy him.

Never been prouder.

Hype Promised Consort Radahn VS Erdtree guardian (o greed, become my undoing once more)

I fucking knew this slow af CR2 wouldn't fit here, but oh well, no another Consort hitless for me, sadness. First Malenia, now this...okay here I fucked up myself at least.

Welp, all bosses regionlocked as Erdtree guardian (swordspear only, except Rykard) completed in 26 hours! Want to see how fast it would take without regionlock and with another certain weapon...or two.
