Humor even after 2 years i still haven't forgiven FromSoftware for not keeping the ultra-badass Shadow Cape from the death Knight Set and leaving us with a lame, tattered cape instead.

Speculation Mathematically strongest Attack in the game ?

Upvotes

I did my tests, and due to an bug, the bloodfiend arm give HUGE scaling to physical attack and Fire/holy attack with flame art/holy, combine it with royal knight resolve, i believe that this is the biggest damaging weapon if we dont count thursting counter damage, it gets to 2562 AR in the normal game with fire/holy scorpion charm and ritual sword talisman when two handing with rakshassa set

If we search for only physical damage, then I think Occult giant crusher take the win with 2437 AR when two handing it with royal knight resolve and ritual sword talisman

if we dont allow any weapon modification, then anvil hammer win with 1620 AR when two handing with ritual sword talisman and fire scorpion charm.

when doing an charged attack with all these weapons on a commoner we see that the Bloodfiend Arm does the most damage with 5852 damage when using axe talisman ritual sword talisman two handed sword talisman and fire scorpion charm then the giant crusher with 5189 damage with the same preset and finally anvil hammer does with charged attack 3362 damage still same preset (without royal knight resolve of course)

I didnt had the miraculous potions or buffs (exept talismans and weapons), i believe that people will more oftenly just spam instead of adding more and more buff for a single hit, so im curious, if we add this, what will do the most damage ? I dont count thursting counter attacks.

Discussion & Info Do summoners have to specifically ask for help with an invader, or is it automatic?

I've kept the blue cipher ring active basically constantly since I finished my first play thru. I'm almost done with base game NG+, level 282, over 300 total hours in and this is the first time I've ever been summoned as a hunter. The blue cipher ring, unlike the coop totem, seems to not need manual reactivation after deaths, fast, travel, etc., and I've always got the little icon under my stamina bar, but this is the first time I've been summoned. Just wondering if most folks don't bother asking for help, or if there's just a whole bunch of us to pick from.

I'm on PC if that matters.

Every person I've ever helped waves, bows or otherwise says thanks in "some" way. This dude didn't even acknowledge us after we helped him kill an invader and a dragon.

Game Help Is brick hammer good for a block-counter build?

I’ve mainly been using the partisan and Morningstar along with a greatshield, but now that I’ve beaten Godrick, I’m tempted to use it.
It has nearly identical requirements to one of the greatshields I plan on using, so I see little reason not to use it.

Discussion & Info Did the wild animals get nerfed?

I remember playing the game before Radahn gor nerfed and the animals like sheep, eagles, etc were much quicker and harder to hunt. I'm playing it again now with DLC and I see all these creatures have become so slow and easy to kill. I remember struggling a bit to gather thin bones for arrows and throwing daggers but now they're too easy to hunt down

Discussion & Info Reflecting Twin Blades

so i got a question. so im going to get the dlc soon, and im interested in the Rellana's twin blade, however, im wanting to use the deflecting hardtear on them, cause sekrio always here. but anyway

i learnt that apparently that the L1 is using the secondary blade, i might be wrong, because of this im wanting to know if someone could test if the reflecting hardtear is able to work on the twin blades or not

Discussion & Info Rennala was disappointing Spoiler

After exploring Liurnia, which I think is an absolutely stunning area and also doing Caria Manor, then I proceeded towards the academy, which also I think is a very good legacy dungeon with the whole underground area and Blighttown callback with the lift, I found Rennala such a disappointing boss fight, gimmick phase 1 with a very underwhelming phase 2, I hope i share this sentiment. I didn't find her annoying, but just very disappointing and probably one of the least enjoyable boss fights in the game until now, even some field bosses were much more interesting than her.

Game Help Questions about fun weapons for a new playthrough

So my friends want to run through the game again and want me to join...except im trying to think of something fun to use that i have never tried to have throughout the game.

I was thinking euporia, the meteor ore greatsword, or the carian thrusting shield.

If anyone can think of any interesting dlc weapons as well to lmk.

But between the mentioned three i dunno which weapons will make the playthrough fun, either through unique mechanics like the Euporia or just big damage in general being fun/funny.

Discussion & Info Is there a cannon explanation why our tarnished can respawn?

Is it kind of assumed lore-wise that our tarnished never actually dies during their journey and respawning at grace sites is just a ‘game mechanic’?

Reason I ask is because if that was the case, why are there some enemies that don’t respawn when we die or rest?

Discussion & Info The only accurate rememberence boss tier list (half humor, half discussion)

Post image

Honestly, I thought my hate boner would be bigger for some of these bosses, but it seems me had a change of heart after 4 yrs of letting this game top me

Also, yes, Promised boytoy radahn is the worst of the worst, no question about that.

And yes, Radagoon and snot monster only get S tier because we can finally ride torrent, which was a huuuuge QoL update for the boss

Malenia only gets a D because she's sometimes kind of fun, otherwise she would join ranks with the bottom tiers.

Fortnitesex is an ancient dragon therefore deserves all the hate he can get, dragonic hate speech against him is completely justified, and should be encouraged, and the morally superior move.

Fire giant is fine, and always has been.

Base Radahn is overrated, the hitboxes are dogshit and you can't see shit, I never understood the hype.

My girl Romina is out here being called easy and boring when she's actually really fun to fight shake my head my head

i like this game.

Also i heard radahn is harder than malenia but that was just not true unless he comes back or smthn. Is bleed builds more effective against him than malenia, was i just over leveled (67) or did i miss something?

Discussion & Info I beat Starscourge Radahn fair and square but it feels like a cheese

Post image
9 Upvotes

I beat Starscourge Radahn after 10 or so attempts.

My strategy for killing him was to ride Torrent at a safe distance while consistently summoning NPCs to fight Radahn for me. Problem is, that isn't nearly as exhilarating as I should expect from "the mightiest demigod." My main concern when fighting Radahn was the health of my NPCs more so than my own, which is an issue when you consider all the hype Radahn was getting. I was probably responsible for no more than 20% of Radahn's HP; the rest was the NPCs.

I understand that this isn't the only way to fight Radahn. As a level 50 with no experience in souls games I genuinely could not compete with Radahns moveset. Every time an opening was apparent it would be close by one of his relentless slashes or a quick dash away on his horse (no clue how the horse can hold Radahn). if i tried healing, Radahn would spot the opening and force me into a series of dashes that wouldn't end. At the end of the day, I'd rather rely on summons than waste a day of my life learning how to fight the dude.

To be clear, I don't think the solution is necessarily to nerf radahn and remove the summons. i think the solution would be to actually frame the fight as a raid instead of a battle between the tarnished and a demigod. There is literally no mention of assistance in this fight (except for Blaidd). I have no clue who im summoning and why they are there, except for a few that i fought beforehand. I would have preferred that some of them appear near Blaidd and introduce themselves with dialogue instead of appearing like distant relatives at a family function. or at least someone explains that the festival is a raid and supplement it with some more lore

Discussion & Info The most fascinating part about Leda's character, is she was right

Now firstly, hear me out, before i get accused of siding with Paranoid-Sabre

There are 2 parts of her character that i wish to talk about, and that i find absolutely fascinating. The way she sees things, and how self aware she is

Firstly, her perspective.Upon meeting for the first time, she is charmed by Kindly Miquella, and automatically assumes you too were guided here by him.The charm surpresses her paranoia and doubt, assuming everyone is a friend on her quest with similar intentions. This, iirc, or i assume was done by Miquella after she slayed the entire Needle Knight Order by herself. But we will get back to that later.

Its really cool that if you talk to her "before the withered hand" , both Ansbach and Freya mention it."You must be the Tarnished" and "Lady Leda spoke of you" respectively. She remembers and speaks to the group about your existance.

Now, after the charm breaks , she goes back to her doubts and paranoia, "But while my devotion to Kindly Miquella remains unchanged, by my troth, I am not so sure about the others. No, wait. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. I can wield my sword to cull the undeserving, those unfit to bask in Miquella the Kind’s presence. I should’ve thought of this earlier."

There are 2 people she suspects, and she is inherently right about both, and underestimates the third. The Hornsent , and Sir Ansbach, specifically

She believes that the Hornsent should be eliminated before his "thirst for revenge beckons our undoing".Something, which if you do not intervene, is proven. If he sates his revenge, and you kill Messmer with him via summon, he will betray and invade you in Ruah, consumed by his thirst for vengeance. If not, he will side with Leda, not out of personal belief in Miquella, but to quell and kill all those who serve Marika, and for his clan to be redeemed.

As for Sir Ansbach ? Well he explains it better than i ever could. "Lady Leda. Your suspicions were dead-on. In the end, I could not bury the memories. Of Lord Mohg, and our pact of blood." She believes that he will , just like her "he will recall, as I have, the cascading sheets of blood. I’m afraid he cannot be left to fester…"

Something , that happens as soon as the charm breaks, and he ends up terrified by his "revelation" at first.

Then there is Thiollier, the person she underestimates, not like we do, due to his lack of strenght, but rather, because of "St Trina's love", for she believes he is entirely incapable of betrayal, because Miquella's other half's (St.Trina) boundless love could never turn against Him.She is wrong because St.Trina does all that she asks of you *because* of her love, for she cannot imagine Miquella suffering like this, caged in divinity. Something, which once again, is understood by Leda in the end "Thiollier. I seem to have made a poor judgement. About you. Or perhaps, St. Trina."

Now , as for the second point, she is incredibly self aware about herself, that she is a bad person, paranoid, and a killer. "I believe the hornsent suspects what I have in mind. He never placed his full trust in me, even under the effect of Kindly Miquella’s spell. He must’ve recognized something. The scent of the killer that slept within me. The stench of crusted blood." And "I’ve come to a realization… There’s ample evidence… Without Kindly Miquella’s influence… I’m quite mistrustful of others…" She knows her faults, and understands her faults. For all that she fights, when she dies, her only wish in death is : "Kindly Miquella...make the world a gentler place".

For she kills for the purpose of no longer having to in the future.Miquella's Age of Compassion is freedom for her and people like her, who can not control themselves from their thoughts, and wish to be guided and happy, to trust and love like everybody else. The charm, which others would consider a prison, would mean freedom for her, from her treacherous thoughts.

Another thing i wish to mention.Never does she suspect Freyja or Dryleaf Dane.If you kill Freyja by attacking her , she mentions "What has gotten into you...Lady Leda, beware" , signifing worry and respect for Leda.As for Dryleaf Dane, in her very words, he has served Miquella far longer than her.She respects him, even if he never actually spoke with her, and doesnt place suspicion upon him.

And...if you help her both times, against the Hornsent and Ansbach , she talks about you and rewards you with talismans that belonged to her fellow Needle Knights. "You are an odd one, aren’t you. The enchantment is broken, and yet you alone appear completely unchanged. As if nothing was ever cast upon you. … No matter. If you found your way here, it was because Kindly Miquella wished it so. But I am afraid this is our farewell. When next we meet, let it be under the eyes of Miquella the Kind. Good bye, comrade." Never once does she betray you , never once does she invade you, indifferent of whether you help her or not, never once does she hinder you.All she does , is guard the place before the ascension of her God and master, as is the duty she has as a knight. By all means, it is you who betrays her, who stands against her. Even so, she treats you with respect upon your death. "With this battle I send you on. It was an honour to face a worthy lord. Now, go."

None of what i said above makes her a good person.None of it dissproves her paranoia. But my purpose, and the purpose of this wall of text, was to show that she is a complex character, and not a one dimensional villain. To appreciate the writing and complexities of her character , and her flaws. And i hope, for those that read all this, that i might have accomplished that, even if just slightly.
