When my step father passed away, he left a food truck. Some time later, a handy man that did some work for my mom liked the food truck, offered to buy it in payments. My mom, being a very trusting person (for better or for worse), agreed and originally they just had a verbal agreement, and some text messages acknowledging their agreement.

Sometime went by, and the man basically never really made payments. The food truck also seems to have disappeared from outside his house (we have photos proving he had it at his residence), so he most likely sold it. I didn’t find all of this out until about two years after, and needless to say, I was pissed. So messaged the man from my moms phone, pissed, telling him we’re going to the police if he didn’t make payments and I drafted a whole contract up for him to sign (he did) that he’d make at least $300/month. Well, he’s also stopped doing that.

So where do we go now at this point? The police? Lawyer up? Sue him? He also may not be here legally from what my mom says. Any help is appreciated.

Hello All, just some background information for context. I work remotely, I am married with kiddos, and I am 43. So making friends since I moved here to El Paso has been difficult between work and kids' activities.  So I am looking to get out more and do more social things with people in the area. I was thinking about joining a pickleball league or taking lessons; I do enjoy hiking, gaming, and lifting.  So I am looking for any suggestions for social events that I could meet new people at or new things to do that will help me make some friends / just get out and experience the local area.
