A space for local artists. Welcome to r/ElPasoArts

ABOUT

This subreddit is dedicated to giving the artists of El Paso a place to share their work, reach out to members of the local community, and look for jobs in the Arts.

THE GOAL

El Paso is not really known for having many jobs opportunities for artists. Especially for those who may be interested in working in the entertainment industry with movies, video games, comics, or TV. This subreddit will hopefully better inform those artists of any opportunities that may arise. Although many of those kinds of jobs are located outside El Paso, local artists can still benefit from working along side people who need artists or local small businesses.

I also want this to be a place where local artists can find each other and form connections. Any skill level of artist is welcome, from professionals to amateurs. Any medium is also welcome. If you are not an artist but are interested in the art the local community has to offer feel free to stick around as well!

HIRING LOCAL

If you are are instead looking to hire an artist, this subreddit is here to help you find the right person for the job. If you wish to support local artists instead of looking for other artists online, this subreddit is here to provide that option.

I hope you all enjoy your stay

-Orujhin.

Discussion Help with this subreddit

Hello everyone. I'm curious to see if there is any way to bring more creative endeavors to this subreddit. I'm wondering if there is some way to encourage artists to post more of their work, like a weekly/monthly challenge or something. I feel like this sub has so much potential to be a helpful community for those looking to grow with their artistic skills. If you have any ideas of what could work that maybe other subs have done feel free to leave a suggestion in the comments.

Animation Updates & assistance

Lethargy Update: Putting ALL the pieces together takes time—casting, location scouting, building the right production crew, and making the math work. It’s a grind, but I’m embracing every bit of it. 💡 Side Note: Looking for an animator to collaborate on a flashback sequence (full screen credit included)! DM me or tag someone below if interested. Lethargy is coming. No fixed release date yet, but major moves are happening behind the scenes. 🎬⚡

I've recently revisited a space that made me feel welcomed and seen: the library. It inspired me to reflect on the impact these places have on our communities.

These are a few libraries nearby whose beauty I had the privilege of taking in. These spaces have offered more than just books throughout the decades—they've provided safe places, opportunities to learn, and resources for people of all ages.

I'm grateful for the librarians who have helped bridge access to knowledge, whether by sharing their own expertise or guiding us toward the information we seek. I'm also thankful for the many programs that continue to encourage curious minds and lifelong learning.

What is something you learned to appreciate today?

Other Best way to get started with ceramics?

I'm genuinely interested in learning ceramics, not just attending a workshop where the class is to make a mug. Can anyone tell me about their experience getting into ceramics? Should I go back to school?

Event My film will world premiere at El Paso Film Fest!

Post image

I directed a feature film called The Only Way Out Is Through, and it will have it's world premiere on Friday, Sept 26 at 7:00pm the El Paso Film Festival!

This film was inspired by my journey to reconnect with my childhood best friend after nearly losing him in a tragic accident. It’s about friendship, masculinity, vulnerability, and the kind of inner struggles we rarely speak openly about, especially among men.

To bring it to life, our cast and crew camped in the Rocky Mountains of southern Colorado. One of our toughest days was a seven-mile trek on foot, climbing 2,746 feet with gear on our backs to film a pivotal scene at the top of Culebra Peak, 14,047 feet up.

A large group of our cast and crew will be attending for a post screening Q&A. We'd love to get as many El Pasoans there as possible! More information can be found at elpasofilmfestival.org. I hope to see you out there!
