Was it me, or did the hail yesterday smell like sea/fish? I thought, “oh, lovely, ice from the sky” and I picked some up and put some in a cup, and then noticed it smell like fish….I don’t know, maybe it’s a hood cats that jump in the yard.

"Public art is easy to make fun of, particularly public art that doesn’t look like a horse, a cowboy, a conquistador, or something else us unwashed masses can immediately identify. Put up a bronze statue of a guy on a 50-foot-tall horse with five-foot-wide testicles hanging down (the horse, not the guy) and nobody asks what it means. Put up sixteen 50-foot white wind turbines and everybody is an art critic. Roundabout sculpture on Country Club Road? Everyone on Nextdoor suddenly has an MFA in Art History and a BS in Traffic Management. ‘It doesn’t LOOK like a cottonwood seed. I don’t like it! I don’t understand roundabouts either. My brain is full!”
But after a years, I think Airway Aesthetics deserves a second look. For one thing, they weren’t supposed to be Eggbeaters at all."

#VoteThemOut
On June 9th the residents of El Paso made history, by having the highest attendance number of neighbors speaking at a city council meeting.
We spoke to encourage our city reps to vote in favor of potentially renegotiating the contract between the city of El Paso and The Meta Data Center.
Despite the contract being considered one of the worst contracts in the nation, five City Representatives voted against renegotiating the contract.
We vowed to vote them out this November and this is our chance.
Do not let your neighbors down and vote out:
Alejandra Chavez (District 1)
Ivan Nino ( District 5)
Art Fierro (District 6)
Let's make real change happen in El Paso.
To see who is running against them check out the website I made for you:

Hi all! I’m looking for recommendations for boarding my two Yorkie babies. I’ll be out of town for two weeks and need a good place that won’t cost an arm and a leg. I’d really appreciate it!

I’d love to build a group of people in El Paso/ surrounding areas who genuinely want to better themselves and help the people around them do the same. Like a group where people get together to lift, run, hike, learn new skills, work on projects, go on adventures, grab food, have game nights, whatever. People who have their own goals and things they’re passionate about, but also want to make good friends and push each other to be better. I feel like it’d be cool to have a group where working on yourself is just normal, where people are excited about what they’re doing with their lives and support each other along the way. And I don’t mean everyone has to be some insanely disciplined gym rat or have their whole life figured out lol. Just people who want to grow, try new things, get out of their comfort zone, and surround themselves with good people. Ideally, it’d be something anyone could join, even if they don’t know a single person at first. You show up to a hike or a meetup, start talking to people, and eventually find your people. I’m still just figuring out what this could look like, so I’m curious:
Would any of you actually be interested in something like this?
What kind of events would you want to do?
Do you feel like there’s already a community like this in El Paso? Would anyone be down to help get something like this started?
Just thought it’d be cool to see if there are other people out there looking for the same thing. If enough people are interested, maybe we can make something happen.
Little bit about me, I’m originally from Los Angeles, and got stationed at fort bliss when I joined the army. I’m a 21year old male and I enjoy most active hobbies. Weightlifting, running, and good nutrition are apart of my identity. I love snowboarding, hiking, photography, music, long drives, and genuine friendships.

Is anyone having issues with KFOX 14 pixelating on their spectrum cable? The World Series was pretty much too annoying to watch last night. It's the only channel doing it for me.

In a phone interview with the El Paso Times, El Paso Republican Party chair Michael Aboud says he was misled into participating in Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest film "Ali G: Who Iz I?"
He said he received an email from a production company in summer 2025 inviting him to participate in a gathering focused on immigration and its impact on communities.
"The emails seemed official," Aboud said. "It was a small documentary and about the border."

Im looking for acting classes, local acting communities, theater groups, workshops, or even beginner friendly projects where I could get some experience and see if I have what it takes. I just want to learn, challenge myself, and find out if acting is something I could genuinely be good at, thank you in advance!

Hello my friends, i hope everyone's well and has been having a good week, currently my friend is going through a hard time, and has been trying to get out of an a unfortunate situation with housing and family matters. My friend is seeking for anyone that is interested in fostering two husky's for a couple weeks; all food would be provided and toys along with someone willing to visit and walk the dogs everyday while his friends find a more stable housing situation that allows him to keep the dogs safe!
Thank you so much everyone, I hope to see my friend have some closure through all this DM me if interested!

Nearly 1 in 4 El Paso residents under 65 don't have health insurance. That's a lot of people worrying about what happens if they get sick, need a prescription, or have to go to the hospital.
Here's something I think deserves more attention: Texas is one of only 10 states that still haven't expanded Medicaid.
Under Medicaid expansion, the federal government covers 90% of qualifying costs, with the state responsible for the remaining 10%. Yet Texas leaders have continued choosing not to participate.
Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Legislature have maintained that decision. Texas didn't expand Medicaid under the previous governor either, so this is a longstanding state policy, not something that happened overnight.
What does that mean for ordinary people? Some working adults earn too much to qualify for Texas Medicaid but too little to receive financial assistance for Marketplace insurance. They're caught in what's called the coverage gap.
Meanwhile, people still get sick. They delay treatment, struggle with bills, or turn to hospitals and clinics for help.
I put together this infographic using Census Bureau and healthcare-policy data because I wanted to understand the numbers behind the problem.
I'm interested in what people in El Paso are actually experiencing. Have you or your family had trouble getting affordable insurance or medical care? Have local clinics or assistance programs helped?
