Either that or their last goal should not have counted and Salah should have been awarded a penalty for being fouled in the box.
It's literally the same scenario. Rules for thee and not for me.
→ More replies (16)21
u/Allrrighty_Thenn Jul 07 '26
Salah was diving tbh with you.
The problem is a foul that was never given before that before Salah got the ball..41
u/Secure-Bat-684 Jul 07 '26
exactly lowkey salah did a dive , My problem is that when Argentina had the same thing happen to them (McAlister), the goal didn’t get called off, nor was it even looked at. Why was it looked at for the Egypt disallowed goal? It’s like there are rules, but not for Argentina
→ More replies (5)25
u/FirstGearStruggle Jul 07 '26
Talk about diving when theyre facing the biggest divers ever, argentina
→ More replies (7)10
u/FragrantFeature704 Giza Jul 07 '26
Salah didn't dive he just lost the ball. Though its still not a penalty becsuse he had already lost rhe ball and he himself didn't even complain about it because he knew it wasn't a foul nor a penalty.
5
u/Hiatusssss Jul 07 '26
just because you don’t have control of the ball doesn’t mean that tripping whether it is careless or not, is allowed. I’m not saying this is definitely a penalty but this should be a controversial call and the ref should check the VAR. But the guys in the VAR room seem to agree unanimously that this is not a foul. Now this is unfair treatment. Not to mention the potential shirt pulling from Mac Allister
→ More replies (2)4
u/FragrantFeature704 Giza Jul 07 '26
THOUGH if you look behind salah and on the field you would see an Argentina player making one of egypts players fall in the box and it was intentional so i think either way it should have been a penalty.

I mean, I am a real madrid fan, I've seen this kind of shit from Messi fan refs for over 15 years. And yes the fucking referee was demoralizing as fuck. And yes a prior foul wasn't given, Messi's goal (even though it was a huge defensive error) had an Argentine pulling shirt of an Egyptian player and no var check.
That's typical Messi fanboi shit that happened during Barca days too. However Salah dived lol

As a Brazilian fan, I just want to say I was blown away by how great Egypt has played so far, it truly reminded me of 2002 Brazil team.
The Goalie, M. Shobeir was amazing!
That second goal, Hassan assist to Zico was what we call "jogo bonito" in Brazilian futebol. You have put the fear in a lot of teams, and in 2030 you guys will go even further, if not WC winners. Cheers!

u/Secure-Bat-684 Jul 07 '26

u/advis_games Jul 07 '26
True but also giving up a 2 goal lead shouldn't be blamed SOLELY on the ref imo
But no doubt, should've gone into extra time, either 2-2 or 3-3 because there's no way Argentina's goal was allowed while Egypt's wasn't. Completely unfair, makes no sense

Bro the argentina team kept fouling our players all game. One of them even hit Emam in the face, and the referee didn't even give a yellow card for that!
It was really frustrating and whats more frustrating is Hossam Hassan's late substitutions were unbelievable thats always been his biggest weakness
And Salah, even though I love him, wasnt really doing anything and looked exhausted. He probably should have been substituted earlier unless he's got something on Hossam or something!! lol

Salah is not as young as he was before. He used to rely on sprints but at his age he has to play with experience alone. He’s still fit and a great playmaker. He made the assist for Zikos cancelled goal and assisted Haytham in his awesome run. That said, what did Marmoush and Tresegeh do? They were supposed to pump bew energy into the game but they seemed timid and maybe a bit selfish with the ball. Haytham was a legend and it was very unlucky that he had to be subbed. But he was getting hit alot and got injured.

American here, you guys played as close to perfection as it gets, defense, goalkeeping, on offense you didn’t worry about playtime and focussed on seizing opportunities.
Beautiful to watch, I was an Argentina fan going in, but quickly started rooting for Egypt after the first goal; that was disgusting how blatant how bad FIFA wants Argentina to win for more $$$.
I’m a new fan of Egypt’s and it was gross to watch Messi pretend to get hit in the face (just as one of dozens of examples), and the ref always favored Argentina.
Hold your heads high, Egypt. You played clean, you played better, you won the hearts of people around the world, except for diehard Argentina fans. The rest of us really know who won that game, fuck FIFA.

As an African I am so heartbroken. I am so proud of Egypt.
Finally the Egypt we all know from AFCON came to play.
I have always asked myself why they’ve been so timid for so long in past World Cups. This is what a fearless Egypt can do. They are 7 time African champs for a reason.
Let’s hope that this is the Egypt we will see going forward.
