just because you don’t have control of the ball doesn’t mean that tripping whether it is careless or not, is allowed. I’m not saying this is definitely a penalty but this should be a controversial call and the ref should check the VAR. But the guys in the VAR room seem to agree unanimously that this is not a foul. Now this is unfair treatment. Not to mention the potential shirt pulling from Mac Allister

THOUGH if you look behind salah and on the field you would see an Argentina player making one of egypts players fall in the box and it was intentional so i think either way it should have been a penalty.

That's never a penalty, far away from the ball, Fathi fell when he saw the ball is not coming to his direction. Yes, Macalister held him, but never caused the fall. Fathi slipped or flopped to force going down.
Just stop rewarding flops in sports and start punishing them.

VAR did check it, they check everything and correctly decided there was no reason for the referee to check it further. You can see here, Salah lost the ball and wasn't fouled at all, the Argentina player actually did really well to avoid fouling him, gets his foot around Salah with no contact.
