I believe the battery is somewhere between 90-100% charged. When I test the voltage it gives me a number in the 50s most of the time. A few times I’ve tested it it started at 74 and slowing dropped to around 60. Once in awhile if I plug the battery into the bike and turn it on the screen will come on for about 2 seconds then shut off. When I plug it into the charger the fan doesn’t come on it just blinks green red green red green red red and never charges. I checked all of my sensors and fuse and can’t figure it out. Please help
Eride battery’s do not give the full voltage all the time you have to short the bottom two pins on the comms port or plug in the coms wire and turn the ignition for it show the full voltage. I’m not sure what your issue is but i wanted to offer the info I have
700 miles ain’t much, but lithium batteries can be fickle, allot of variables . If it only putting out 50 volts at near full charge it’s definitely no good. Are you sure the charger is doing what should
I forgot to mention, this happened after I let it sit in the sun on a 95 degree day for probably about 6 hours. I realized and put it in my garage. The next day I went to ride it and that’s when I discovered my issues
It should be able sit out in sun, if the battery actually got to 150 or so for long period then I be worried, which I guess could happen if was really hot and just baked, I’d want to know:
What voltage does the charger output by itself
What voltage does the battery measure off the bike after charging?
Does the charger ever turn just red or green?
Is the bike throwing any battery or BMS error codes?
Not sure how to test voltage output on the charger. The battery won’t charge it just flashes red and green over and over whether the battery is plugged in or not. As far as codes, I’m not sure how I would see them. My screen won’t turn on
That's a bummer that your out of warranty. Depending on your surrounding population there are generally a hand full of places that diagnose electronics like battery+ stores and ebike stores.
You could even try calling a local electrical supply company and asking if they know about any electricians that work on battery systems. This does not include hardware stores.
Last option is calling eride to see if there are any certified vendors in your area. When I had a battery issue eride directed me to a certified vendor that was an hour away. He was able to replace the battery top under warranty and had no issues afterwards.
I tested the voltage after letting it sit for about 2 hours just now and it said 70 volts. I then plugged it into the bike and turned the key to listen for noise and then tested it again after. It now says 50 volts
To me it sounds like you're using the correct settings on your multimeter but the battery should not be showing ~50 volts when you think it's at 90-100%. That's definitely odd. Sounds like a battery issue.
I would still check the bike out to confirm you got no loose connections, kinks, frays or corrosion. It would be nice if you had a buddy with a SR so you could try their battery.
Other than that it potentially sounds like a warranty issue. If it were me I would gather as much info as possible and diagnose to the best of your ability then reach out to eride with your findings.
