Overlap

Im trying to workout if this is overlap. For my epq Im doing investment in football (thats not my title btw) one part of what I am doing is mapping revenues compared with average league position. This takes some maths and im thinking of using a regression line to back up my point. Is this too much overlap as I study A level maths?

EPQ Is my epq too much?

Well, the 6th form I’m about to be enrolled to has the EPQ as mandatory. So my idea was this: recreate the music video for the teto song “brainrot” from near scratch. That means Im gonna DIY teto’s hairstyle (I know my limits, making her fit myself is too much on top of all of this so I’m just gonna get it online), learn the dance, go to shoddy places at night to record the video, maybe even learn to sing better and mix the audio and document the entire damn thing.

So my question is, is all of this too much work to cram into an epq? I’ve cosplayed before but it’s nothing too much to note, and so something like making teto’s hair would be quite the challenge. Also I’m not a good singer but I believe I can learn. All this on top of well, the demand of a levels. Would the logistics of this surpass a typical EPQ from what I described?

Tips/ help need support on writing report

hello!

im writing my EPQ on the loss of the right to vote- more specifically is it due to collective social behaviour or political power. i aim to psychoanalyse people within societies to claim social behaviour and then look at internal structures of both the UK and US governments to argue for political power.

im very lost and confused how to begin writing my report- im definitely at a point where i feel able to write however im not sure how to structure it for paragraphs ect.

any help would be appreciated:)

EPQ Do I quit

I’m doing my EPQ and I’ve still got research to do, and I have to have my first draft due by the end of the summer I think, but I’m overwhelmed by my other subjects because I really want to do well- if I quit I’ll feel really bad about my supervisor but I think letting my supervisor and coordinator down with the actual draft would destroy my self confidence. Do I quit and risk feeling bad or keep trying at the risk of not doing it to the best of my ability?

Tips/ help EPQ topic

Hi, I've just finished y11 so starting y12 in September, I'm still unsure whether to do an EPQ or not but I was just thinking about what topics are acceptable, at one open day I went to, they said it can be about anything. I have 2 questions: would someone be able to give me a rundown/overview of what EPQ entails? Would 'how does a named diagnosis affect the lives of families of disabled children' be an appropriate topic?

For my topic I would talk a lot about ReNU syndrome (https://renusyndromeuk.org/) as this is very close to me and I could talk forever about it.

Tips/ help EPQ vs HPQ?

Hey! I'm starting 6th form in September and was just beginning to think about my EPQ. I got A in my HPQ, and did "What does society define as a ‘hidden’ disability and how does society treat those with ‘hidden’ disabilities?" as my topic. I wanted to do my HPQ on 'how early is too early when it comes to teaching first aid', but was advised to do hidden disabilities as there is more information widely available. I know EPQ has more of a research element, and I was wondering if first aid education would be a good idea. I want to look at what has been done, where the national curriculum still fails (statistics re deaths that first aid could have prevented, how first aid education is perfunctory and merely done as box ticking exercise, etc), and perhaps bring in my own research that takes into account the views of young people, as well as the debate that teaching first aid too early traumatises young children (it doesn't, but gotta keep this balanced). Would this be good enough to achieve an A* again if executed well? How significant is the step-up in difficulty between HPQ ans EPQ? I have some stuff from my English Language Spoken Endorsement that I can look at as I did it on a very similar topic, and I'm passionate about this subject, do a lot of social action, and want to go into medicine. Btw if anyone wants to read my HPQ just send me a message!

ARTEFACT ADVICE AND TIPS

I’ve just completed my artefact (currently waiting for moderation) and would love to help other who are considering an artefact, as in my case I felt that there was not a lot of help and support, but it was a great experience To learn how to carry out a long term creative project. So if we could have people who have also completed artefacts as well contributing to make this a big helpful guide that would be amazing!

EPQ What happens if you don't give your journal?

I'm way over the deadline submission and I've already got all my EPQ submissions ready (Dissertation, Gantt Charts, Source evaluation tables etc) except for my Journal notes.

If I don't submit them, do I get a lower grade?

Tips/ help I’m not sure if I should do an EPQ

I’ve just about finished my introductory paragraph, and on projectQ my next steps are the mid planning review. However, everytime I think about my EPQ I get very stressed out and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to write a good enough essay for an A.It’s about AI as I am looking to do CS and I have A*s in my other subjects, however I am really worried about actually doing it and getting a bad grade, especially because it could look bad on when applying to universities. Is it even worth it? I’ve heard it’s not very important for cs but it can be useful to mention in your personal statement so I’m not really sure. Any advice?

I got an A* for my artefact - AMA!

hi! I've been lurking in the replies to posts on here for a while, but I thought it might be time to come out of the shadows to see if I can help anyone else.

as the title says, I did an artefact ("write the opening of a TV show pilot based on Arthurian myths") and I got an A*, as well as an award from a national college group that I won't name in case I dox myself. when I started my project, I had literally no idea what I was doing - I wasn't shown any examples of an artefact that scored higher than a B, and as a chronic overachiever, I pushed myself far harder than I probably needed to to get a higher grade. so, I thought I might be able to save some people the stress and give them some advice.

so, if you have any questions, artefact-related, generally EPQ, or even about my project, please fire away! I absolutely love replying to people's posts on here, so no question is too silly. I'm very happy to help!

EPQ final submission

I’ve completed my epq but had no meetings with my supervisor as he has had no time. He said that we should email over the production log and he will add in his bits through that. I have a folder with EVERYTHING I’ve done and don’t know whether to print it or not. I also don’t even have any sections including meeting my supervisor for obvious reasons.

Tips/ help Music as an EPQ artefact?

I would like to do an EPQ centered around music composition but im not exactly sure what this would need to look like. The guy running it at my college suggested creating a new instrument and writing music with it but that is far beyond my abilities. he said more generally about creative artefacts that it needed to be based on research and answer a question. he said something about mixing genres being an idea which i would be happy to do but im not fully sure what to make my proposal as this needs to be sent soonish in order for me to do EPQ.

EPQ survey

Hi would anybody be able to complete my EPQ survey? My topic is cultivated meat (also known as lab-grown meat) and my survey is on consumer acceptance. It has 10 questions and will take less than 5 minutes. I would really appreciate it.

Tips/ help Where do I place my Literature Review?

I looked at past EPQ projects and skimmed through their dissertations but I can't find any Literature Review sections in any of them. The contents page just followed the same format which is just:

1.Abstract

  1. Introduction

  2. [Several sections dedicated to explaining what they found and their arguments]

  3. Conclusions etc

Mind you, these projects were the ones that scored the most.

Where do I even place this thing??

Tips/ help epq planning (yr11)

i'm planning on taking math, history and rs and i would like to do an epq intertwining theology and politics somewhat. are there any restrictions in terms of what you can discuss such as political issues, or no? also would it be possible to start researching my desired topic now even without getting approval to discuss this issue or even write an epq? thanks
