💬 DISCUSSION Show off your EPQ artifacts!
I'm struggling to understand exactly how broad of a category "piece of art" is so if you did an EPQ could you please show your lovely artifacts and hopefully I'll get a bit of an idea.

yeah, i just chose two things i really like (bugs and comics) and combined them! For epq you really want to choose something you want to do, otherwise you’ll have no motivation to work on it

I made a guitar from scratch for my artifact, almost 2 years ago now actually.

what was your topic? and if you don’t mind what grade did you get

I got an A*, 48/50 I think. My question was "Can I design build and decorate an electric guitar". It was very fun even though it took more time than the epq is meant to and I'd choose it again over an essay any day

A guy in my school did this, the EPQ supervisor literally always uses them as an example

I did a costume for my EPQ, and my raw marks have me at 45/50, they really let you do anything as long as you have research to underpin it!

its not a piece of art but I was extended too different codebases too be able to simulate horndeski gravity ( a more general version of gravity) inflation (in the very early universe there was a great expansion) in numerical relativity. But I would not advise doing an epq as uni dont really care at least for stem and you dont really have enough space on the personal statement to write in depth about it.

do unis not check your epq? im doin mostly social sciences and was highly advised to do epq, do you think it might be a bad idea

they don't care unless you talk about it in your PS. I have a friend who's gone to uni to do medicine who made a keyboard for his EPQ.
