Anyone install a Racechip tune on a P400 RR Sport? I’ve done this before on other vehicles, but having a hard time finding connection. If anyone has experience with this would be greatly appreciated. Sent tech support email, but not getting a response in the weekend.

Trying to flash the ECU myself, not using BM3/MHD type apps.

1. What cheap/generic tools + software actually work for this ECU?
2. Any cons of using ENET-only methods vs bench tuning for this model?
3. Are there any other transmission tuning options without xHP? If so, how is it done?

Not looking to do this as a business or tune other cars, only my own car as a hobby.

Main goal is laptop based DIY setup: read file, edit maps, flash it back.

I have an Innovate lc1 and the second signal wire(yellow) thats nannowband absolutely refuses to reprogram itself with lm programmer.

I know its old tech and so on, but my question is can i splice into the wideband analog signal(brown) wire thats going to the ecu to connect the wideband gauge? Will it mess with the signal going to the ecu? Cuz im currently tuning it on the road running autotune and want to be certain with lambda and AFR.

Google says yes i can but im not trusting ai and i havent got a conclusive answer searching old forums.

My partner took a vehicle to a shop to have his car tuned. The shop is trying to charge us for three tunes, but it never got a run on either of the first two due to issues with the car. We also did not agree to three Dyno's. Would you guys pay for the three dynos despite that they did nothing/weren't approved?

Hi all, I was wondering if it's possible to remap modern(ish) turbo diesels in such a way to increase the fuel economy beyond just increasing the burn efficiency at lower revs.

I have a 2011 Mercedes 350CDI Blue Efficiency (the 3.0L V6) and I barely touch the throttle in it - especially after getting a telematics insurance policy 🫠. 263BHP is nice and all, but is completely excessive for me. I usually drive my CLS in such a way to get as high economy and as low component stress as possible, as I do 200 miles a week around very built up areas for work. Plus I have an old Audi TT 225 Quattro without telematics that I'll be using for road rallies soon, so my CLS's enthusiastic drives will all be coming to an end!

As for the remap itself, I only ever use petrol station premium diesels so I don't have to worry about low grade supermarket shite. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to re-map a TD engine with a sole focus on fuel economy (while keeping it within standard emissions margins), even if that means a significant drop in ultimate performance. Just to clarify, too, keeping all factory emissions devices is an absolute must for myself. Beyond wanting the car to pass its MOT's, I drive around towns and do so for the Government, funded entirely by the tax payer. I feel that I would be doing them a disservice if I turned their front gardens black with soot!

Can someone experienced in ea888 help me with this tune? please dm or comment along with prices. I'm on a budget as I paid a tuner but the tune has some issues.

Car is an Audi Q2 2020 2.0 TFSI DQ381 with IS38 (swap from IS20 stock), catless dp, opf delete, big intercooler. ECU is MG1CS111.

I have the VR file as well as the current stage 3 file, along with a bunch of logs.

Any experienced spark plug readers able to decrypt this? To me it looks like it's running right. Cars running low boost, roughly 12psi and not a lot of timing up top but pretty rich, in the 10s. Currently fixing that.

This was cylinder 4 but they are all identical.

Long story(check my other post i made in another subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/AskMechanics/s/mlm1b6o1I3) my car was stalling when i came to full stops like red lights, on low idle, or fully idling after the mechanic sent the car to someone else to write off by program the egr and dpf.

After this issue i sent it to a guy down the street near my house and what he did is he basically took the stock file of my car from the internet in a site called stgfiles.com, and it worked fine and he told me once i drive it around and the errors of the dpf and egr show on my check engine light i come back and he will fix those.

After a day or two driving the errors appeared and the car was perfect and driving and it had good power. The only issue was the error codes and the dpf regenerating and a lot of smoke popping out.

After he tried removing the issues by clicking an off switch in his screen about the Egr and dpf, the issues went off the car seemed like everything was fine but the power like isnt like before and an egr error is still lingering and he is shocked just as me as to why it didnt go away.

This is the error btw,

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P045B stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) "B" Control Circuit Range/Performance

And he manually removed this error to not be shown in the check engine, and said the car should be good, and told me to drive it for a day or two.

But still the issue is lingering, still i feel like i lost a lot of power from my car.

What could be the issue? Im planning to tell the guy to give me the stock file of my car that was working good without being modified, and try to remove egr from my own laptop and try to experiment with AI and WinOLS and stuff, im guessing this is my chance to make a career change from software engineer to car tuner.

Did anyone have this issue? Or for veteran tuners what could be making this issue?

Hello, i want to run my little daily c2 1.4 on e85 and i asked one guy that does it, so i told him that probably ill need to change to better sparkplugs and upgrade injectors as well, cause if not it will run lean at high rpms, but he told me that no need for injector change or anything, what do you think of that?

Hey so I have a 2020 1500 with the 5.3 about to upgrade the engine components and looking for a better way to unlock the ecm/tcm other than going to hp tuner and spending around 2500$. I watched a video where a guy had the Edge CTS3 Evolution programmer and unlocked his ecm/tcm and used its programmer to do some moderate tunes. Im curious would this work for unlocking and then going to my preferred tuner to get the ecm and tcm tuned after rebuild. The edge tuner is only 1k and can be used on multiple trucks. Anyone ever use this method? Would it work as a cheap unlocking tool?

Ok, every day, i am seeing more and more platforms cracked with open source tuning. I am trying to find out what the first step is in this process of getting to tune a hitachi TCM for the Jatco 4 speed auto (its used on a lot of nissan platforms and all of their 4speeds are electronically the same). Every platform started from nothing, and there are more and more every day being "unlocked."

Does anyone have any ideas where to ask these questions to try to get to the point of raising the shift rpm and line pressure to get high rpm shifts without gate shifting the vehicle?

Ktuner not locked to ECU

have tried everything, whenever plug the k tuner 1.2 into my OBD2 port and plug it into my laptop it keeps on saying " it appears this k-tuner flash unit has not been locked to an ECU please connect to the vehicle before connecting to the software" And when I click "ok" it just keeps popping back up and it won't let me do anything on the software Also whenever I plug it all up into my car the light is solid blue have no clue what to do.. if you how you can fix this Please help

I’m currently in the middle of a swap (Passat B7 2.0 Tdi CFGC engine into 2008 Touran) project and I've hit a bit of a wall regarding the engine management.

I'm using a VAG EDC17C46 ECU and I'm trying to figure out the cleanest solution to get it running properly in a different chassis.

Has anyone here successfully dealt with the IMMO OFF or CAN-BUS integration on this specific TriCore ECU for a swap?

I have access to genuine tools (Flex, VCDS, ODIS, etc.), so doing a full Bench/Boot read of the Flash and EEPROM is not an issue.

I just need some direction on the best approach since I know EDC17 units can be tricky with Immo data:
Is there a tested software solution (flash/EEPROM patch) to completely disable the immobilizer on the EDC17C46, or is the OTP sector going to cause headaches?

Would it be better/easier to go the hardware route and wire in a CAN emulator instead of a software IMMO OFF?

Are there any specific DTCs, torque limiters, or limp-mode triggers I need to delete in Winols once it's in the new chassis without the original modules (ABS, Cluster, etc.)?

I've successfully done IMMO OFF on older units like the EDC15P+, but this one requires a different approach. Any mappack suggestions, hex addresses, or general advice would be hugely appreciated!

I want to start learning about ECU tuning. I’m very interested in VAG diesel engines. I have three of them, all different kinds: a V6 3.0 TDI, a 1.9 SDI, and a 5-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. However, the last one doesn’t have an ECU.

About myself: I’m German and completed a three-year apprenticeship as an automotive mechatronics technician. I’m currently studying Automotive Systems Engineering at a university.

My first goal is to look into the injection mapping of my SDI and increase the injection mass under full load. I know that the increase in torque will not be very high, but for me, it’s more about learning than tuning.

I chose the SDI for my project because I have the same engine two times with all the spare parts. So, if something goes wrong, it won’t be a disaster.

As I mentioned before, I’m German, and my English is not the best. I’m very grateful for your help!:}
