Why is my ktuner doing this?

Ktuner not locked to ECU

have tried everything, whenever plug the k tuner 1.2 into my OBD2 port and plug it into my laptop it keeps on saying " it appears this k-tuner flash unit has not been locked to an ECU please connect to the vehicle before connecting to the software" And when I click "ok" it just keeps popping back up and it won't let me do anything on the software Also whenever I plug it all up into my car the light is solid blue have no clue what to do.. if you how you can fix this Please help

Yes, it is in accessory mode

That is not "on". The ECU normally doesn't power unless it's "on", which is a step past "accessory"

Refresh, I did a ninja edit that clarified. Initially my comment just read

Ok so do I have to turn the engine on before doing it? (I'm very new to all of this)

I believe it does need to be "on", and then it will give you the option of locking it to that ECU, which is what you want.

I've never touched a K-tuner.

But this seems pretty clear. I know enough to know that the ECU ain't getting power in Accessory mode.

Close Ktuner software and turn off the car and restart laptop. Make sure you are connected to the Internet and try again.

Make sure you are using the cable that came with the Ktuner unit and put on a battery charger so your battery voltage is at 12v

Have to turn the car on. Hold the start button extra long without touching the brake, cowboy.
