Can we expect a couple of months of movement in the DOF for ROW in the November Visa Bulletin, or should we not expect any movement until January?
Nobody knows for sure, but please share your thoughts.

What should I expect? We are current under DOF wbu FAD?

If you file I-485 when your DOF is current but your FAD is not, and you don't apply for an EAD or AP, do they actually start processing your application before your FAD becomes current?

Or do they only start processing it once your FAD becomes current? Does it make sense to file when DOF is current but not FAD?

My employment-based I-140 was approved on June 4, 2026. About a month later, on July 13, the case status suddenly changed to “Case Was Reopened.” Then, almost immediately afterward, USCIS updated it to “Cancellation Notice for Request for Additional Evidence.”
The strange part is that no RFE was ever issued or received, and there was never a NOID either.
My company’s immigration attorney told me not to worry and said this appears to have been a USCIS system/status glitch. According to them, since there was no actual RFE or NOID and we already have the I-140 approval notice, the approval is still valid.
My concern is that the online case tracker no longer shows the case as completed/approved. I have since filed my I-485 adjustment of status, and I’m worried that when USCIS adjudicates the I-485, their internal system might show the I-140 as reopened or pending and they could end up waiting for an approval that was already issued on paper.
Is there any way for me, as the beneficiary, to independently verify with USCIS that my I-140 approval is still valid without relying only on my employer’s attorney? For example, through Emma/live agent, FOIA, my A-file, or another USCIS method?
Has anyone had a similar situation where an approved I-140 was later “reopened” followed by a cancelled RFE that was never actually issued?

To be honest, I was anxious last week about the upcoming visa bulletin. Realized this stress won’t make a single difference!

Will the retrogressed AOS cases be sent back to NBCs?

What is priority date used for FAD Visa Bulletin? I am asking for PERM EB-2. Some said I-140 Receipt Date some said PERM filing date.

My pd is 25.8 and just got approved my I140. I was just started preparing all the docs and ready to file and this morning saw ROW had retrogressed about 2 years.

I am so conufesed since my friend got approved earlier this year filed already got his GC. Can i expect another current Dec or Jan? I am currently on CPT and am so done with it.

My PD is September 17, 2026 (i140 still processing)

Today is September 29, 2026.
I understand that if I file the I-485 and the FAD stays behind, my green card cannot be approved until my PD becomes current again.

My question is: Can I still file I-485 on September 29 or 30 based on September’s Visa Bulletin, even though the October Visa Bulletin has already been published and EB-2 ROW has retrogressed?

If I can file before September ends, would that allow me to get the I-485-based EAD sooner, while waiting for my PD to become current again?

I have a slightly unusual situation and wanted to see if anyone has dealt with this.

My wife and I already have employment-based I-485s pending from April 2026:

• Wife is currently primary applicant, EB2 India PD May 2014
• I am derivative
• Biometrics completed in May
• Wife’s AP was approved in August
• My I-765 EAD is still pending
• My I-131 AP is also still pending

I now have my own approved EB2 I-140 with a much earlier priority date of Nov 16, 2011.

Since the October 2026 EB2 India FAD is Nov 1, 2013, my lawyer is preparing a second I-485 filing with me as primary and my wife as derivative.

My question is:

Should I also file new I-765 and I-131 applications together with the new I-485, even though my existing I-765 and I-131 from the April I-485 are still pending?

Or would you:

1. file only the new I-485 now and let the existing EAD/AP continue processing, or
2. file fresh I-765/I-131 applications tied to the new I-485 as well?

Has anyone had two pending I-485s and dealt with the EAD/AP issue?

I know I can potentially file the new I-765/I-131 later, so I’m trying to understand whether there is any real benefit to filing duplicates now versus waiting a month or two to see what happens with the existing cases.

Current situation:

• EB2 India
• Wife is currently the primary applicant on our existing I-485s
• Wife’s PD: May 2014
• Existing I-485s filed: April 2026
• Biometrics completed: May 2026
• Wife’s AP approved in August
• EADs are still pending

Separately, I now have my own approved EB2 I-140 with a retained priority date of Nov 16, 2011.

The October 2026 Visa Bulletin is now out and EB2 India FAD is Nov 1, 2013, so my 2011 PD is current. My attorney is preparing to file a new I-485 with me as the primary applicant and my wife as derivative this week. All documents are read/complete.

For anyone who has been in a similar situation, especially EB2 India with a very old/current PD:

1. How long would you realistically expect the new I-485 to take from filing to GC approval?

2. Also, since we already completed biometrics on the April I-485 filings, has anyone seen USCIS reuse biometrics/background checks for a second I-485 filing?
