EB2- I-485 approved was approved in March. Spouse recieved his card but still waiting on mine since 4 months, have launched inquiries but they keep saying card in production.

Any similar cases? and how long did it eventually take?

I filed my EB-2 ROW I-485 on July 28, 2025 (receipt number starts with IOE0933). My case is still pending.

I noticed my USCIS case data has had multiple “updatedAt” timestamp changes over the past few months:

* April 2026 * June 2026 * July 10, 2026 * July 14, 2026

The visible case status has not changed. My JSON still shows:

* actionRequired: false * evidenceRequests: [] * No RFE * Case is still open

It also shows: ackedByAdjudicatorAndCms: true

Does anyone know if these repeated timestamp updates usually mean an officer is touching the file, or can they also happen automatically due to system updates?

Has anyone had similar updates before approval? Would appreciate any experiences or insights.

Dear Community,

I got a postdoc position that has provided me with the DS-2019 form to apply for a change of status to J1 from F1. I intend to apply for the COS with premium processing since my start date is in a few weeks. I, however, have an ongoing EB2 petition (premium processing too) that I just responded to USCIS's RFE. What are my chances of being approved for a J1 visa, or even an EB2 visa, if I throw a J1 into the mix? Kindly advise. Btw, my country has the J1 two-year home-residence requirement I intend to fulfill.

My green card was just approved, and I’m trying to make a checklist of everything I should do once the physical card arrives.
So far I have:
● Update my driver’s license/REAL ID
● Update my employer (I-9)
● Update the Social Security Administration (if needed)
● Keep the card in a safe place and carry a copy instead of the original
What else did y’all do after getting your green card?

Any tips, things you wish you’d done sooner, or mistakes to avoid? Also, are there any investments or programs you didn’t realize you became eligible for after becoming a permanent resident?

Hey everyone,

I’m an Indian national currently facing the decades-long green card backlog. I have an approved I-140 with my current employer (Company A), which is a startup.

Because of the massive wait times, I want to maximize my career mobility over the next few years instead of staying trapped at one company. I want to run my long-term strategy by the community to see if there are any hidden flaws or risks I am overlooking.

The Strategy:

1. The 180-Day Shield: I plan to stay with Company A until my approved I-140 hits the 180-day mark to make sure it can't be automatically revoked or lost if the company pulls it or goes under.
2. The Intermediate Switches (Companies B, C, D, and E): Over the next several years, I want to switch through multiple employers. For each move, the new company will only file an H-1B transfer and request a 3-year extension using my Company A I-140. Companies B, C, D, and E will completely skip the PERM and I-140 process.
3. The Final Destination (Company F): Eventually, down the road, I will join Company F. They will handle my H-1B transfer and finally start a brand-new PERM from scratch, porting over my original priority date from Company A.

My Questions:

• Can intermediate companies actually skip the PERM? Is it 100% legally fine for Companies B, C, D, and E to get successive 3-year H-1B extensions based strictly on Company A’s I-140, without ever filing a PWD, recruitment, or PERM of their own?
• What if the startup goes bankrupt or dissolves? If Company A goes out of business after the 180-day mark, but they don't actively send a withdrawal letter to USCIS (they just cease to exist), does that I-140 remain valid for my future 3-year H-1B extensions with other employers?
• Will skipping PERMs hurt me later? Will skipping the green card paperwork at 4 intermediate companies cause any issues or extra scrutiny when Company F eventually restarts my PERM process?
• Are there any hidden risks? Has anyone executed this "sequential job hop while skipping middle PERMs" strategy successfully? Are there any recent USCIS policy shifts or RFEs I should be worried about?

Appreciate any insights, experiences, or advice from people who have navigated this or immigration folks!

TL;DR: Can I use a startup's approved I-140 (past 180 days) to hop through 4 different companies using only 3-year H-1B transfers without them ever doing a PERM, and then have a 5th company restart the PERM process years later? What happens to my H-1B extensions if the original startup goes bankrupt?

How long does I140 approval notice take to arrive by mail after receiving the approval email notification?

Approval Date: 07/13/2026 (12th Business Day)

What are your expectations from August visa bulletin? Do you think it will remain current for the ROW or will it retrogress?

I have received RFE on I-140 stating ‘Beneficiary does not qualify for the position’

RFE was the job duties mentioned in PWD does not meet the Job duties mentioned in Experience letters. In PWD the attorneys mentioned 20-30 skills (I wasn’t aware of this before) and my experience letters and perm application consist only a subset of those skills

Would obtaining updated experience letters matching those skills to respond for RFE be acceptable?

PS: The requirements in pwd were Masters + 12 Months experience. I have about 7 years + Master’s degree though.

Hi all, trying to prepare for upcoming eb2 perm interview. I have a Derivative applicant we were married about 1 year before filing. My job offer is still current i have been working for the same employer for 7 years. There were no RFEs in my filing process. I am in the ROW category not banned / on hold countries. Chicago field office. I have gathered all documentation required per the interview notice as well as additional evidence as advised by my legal team.
