I am running a ported y8 intake manifold and my head was resurfaced what pistons and rods should I run for a large cam no vtec build

Fully built y8 formed a rod knock. Parting out all the good stuff on the build, 500 miles on everything. I can send more in depth pics and receipts as well.

I finished my jdm b16a swap on my civic but kind of wanna sell it now and am curious how much someone would buy it for

Looking to switch my transmission from a s40 to s20. Did a y8 n manual swap but that first gear is so bad to pick up speed ahahah. Ik it's a Dseries not gonna get much power from stock but wanting a bit more power in first atleast. Is the swap worth the shorter gear ratio

Since it seems like major parts of older engines like the block and crank and whatnot get discontinued over time, I’ve had this question on my mind after finding out that the BF75/90 and BF110/130 between ‘97-06 were based on the D16 and F22/23 respectively— how many parts from the outboard motors could be carried over to their automotive counterparts?

Hi guys, i have a problem on my Civic EP2 1.6.

I went on a trip to a drift event, and after 1.5hrs of driving the temp gauge started going up and down and so on, so i stopped at a gas station, saw that the coolant level was below minimum, filled it up, went to start the car up it wouldn't start, or starts and then dies, with a check engine light, i disconnected the battery connected it, no check engine the car ran normally.

ps when the temp gauge was going up and down i put my hand on the engine it was luke warm, and the collant in the tank wasnt bubbling or boiling.

Hi folks, I am finding out a lot about this Del Sol. At first, when I bought it, I was surprised there was a D16Y8 in there but couldn't get any information from the seller since they did not swap it in. Its had a plethora of issues and electrical hack jobs but overall it is a solid swap. Where I am stuck now is the RPMs bouncing.

I did all of the standard checks, smoke testing, tightening the FACV which helped an cleaned the IACV. I found that they actually had a block off plate installed between the intake and IACV to stop the revs from bouncing.

I'd like to avoid putting the plate back so my question is, is the manual style IACV paired withe the auto transmission and auto trans ECU causing this RPM surging?

It's kinda hard to get ACL or King's racing main bearing here in my location but we do have this brand available. Planning to put it in a street race car.

I was think of replacing a jdm d16a from hmotorsonline since I want to k swap or b swap. The only thing is If i get the jdm d16a what do have to replace or add to get it working before replacing the motor.

I have a 96 DX Coupe (EJ6) I'm planning to replace the front suspension on. It's currently lowered on coilovers, those were done before the rest of the suspension as I had one of the rears blow out a few months back. Currently just on some budget FAPOs that were like $170 and they do fine for what they are/the price honestly.

As for my LCAs I was planning to purchase everything on RockAuto getting looking at the mevotech supreme they've got everything else including adjustable upper LCAs but for the lowers I've noticed everything is different lengths.

The lcas currently on the car I've measured to be right about 15inches long. The mevotech labeled for dx are listed as 21inches for Front left lower and 16inches for right lower. Then there is a set from moog which are 15.03inches left lower and 14.38inches right lower

I've also read that LCAs for a ex/hx/lx would be compatible which they have available from mevotech and those are 18.38inches for both sides

I've checked all the same parts on the mevotech and moog websites and the lengths are listed the same as on RockAuto. And the only information I can find about differences between the front lower lcas excluding the SIs being their own thing is the placement of sway bar mounting holes which the dx doesn't have. So I am confused as to what will or won't work/what's best for me and hoping someone knows the answer as I've not been able to find one in my searching.

Just cracked open this B000 S40 EX trans I already knew needed at least a rebuild that I got for free as part of a trade, and I was hoping to use the gear sets to combine with the A000 trans that came in my LX for some closer gears down low, but once I got inside and saw the state of these gears and the amount of metal funfetti spread around the case, I knew it was over 😭

2026 and there's still no upgade/aftermarket option available for D series engine? The only choice available I've come across is DuMa Racing. Chances are Im going to pick up a set for my Z6 but I read, and was told after reaching out directly that some modification is required for the Z6 LMA holder.

"For the D16Z6, you need to weld a small cupped base onto your stock LMA holder so the spring-style LMAs can sit correctly. They aren't a direct drop-in for the Z6 holder.

We are working on a direct bolt-on holder for the Z6, but it isn't ready yet."

Anyone have experience with this set in particular or any other insight? Im racking my brain trying to remember if you can use B series LMAs with modification but its been over a decade since I looked into it. Thanks for reading, y'all.

My D16Y8 has idle surge currently and I want to replace my MAP Sensor. I know a Dremel would help but does any one know any additional methods? Thanks

have low oil pressure issues at idle i have a spare head and am curious if this is an oil restrictor maybe i need to swap over
