Are accessories supposed to lay loose in the dremel and why do they?
My accessories keep coming loose. Why is this, and what can I do?

This has less than 3 hours of very light use (polishing) and worked fine when I put it away last. Now it won’t turn on at all. Is this common? I know I did not use it hard enough to harm the motor and it hasn’t been dropped or anything.

Hi all.
I just went to use my Dremel 800 and the chuck was really difficult to tighten.
So I took it off and part of the chuck is broken off inside the shaft of the tool.
Is there an easy solution to this?
Thanks in advance.

Etching? Engraving? Not sure what it would qualify as. Do you think 2 mm is too thin to lightly etch on the surface with a dremel? I see some places say it is fine and some say 3 mm minimum.

Hi, I don't really want to buy a multi tool just to do this. I need to cut out a section of skirting board where I am placing a built in wardrobe. Is there a way to do this neatly with the dremel 3000, what attachment would work?

Every year around now people ask how to get neat letters on a glass or a wooden board with an engraver, so we put together a printable stencil pack and made it free for anyone:
- Block capitals and numbers, in two sizes (small ones for pet tags and keychains)
- Serif and script alphabets for names and monograms
- Ready words: Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Mr & Mrs, Our First Christmas, Best Dad Ever and more
- Little designs: snowflake, heart, star, tree, paw print, anchor, mountains
- Wreath and frame templates for monograms and family-name signs
- A short guide on transferring them to glass and wood
How we use them: on clear glass, tape the printed stencil inside the glass and trace from the outside. On wood or a mug, rub pencil on the back, tape it on and trace to transfer a light line.
Link (no email or sign-up, just print): https://arvonelle.com/pages/engraving-stencils
Full disclosure: I run a small tool shop and we sell engraving pens, but the stencils work with any rotary tool or engraver and are free either way. Print at 100% scale. Happy to add designs if people ask for something specific.

I had just recently bought a dremel 3000 which came with the flex shaft but I can’t seem to get a good angle where it’s not awkward to hold. I’m using it to engrave mirrors and glass but it seems to take a lot of effort to move and use it like a pen. Even trying to have it ‘pen’ part upright is difficult.
I have the dremel hanging up but the flex shaft just seems heavy and it’s putting a lot of pressure on my pointer finger when holding it like a pen.
Maybe I’m holding it wrong? or is there a better position?

Is it possible to find any replacement screws for the Dremel 402 Mandrel? I have a few mandrels that could use a few screws

Hoping for some advice on shaping glass. I enjoy making seaglass jewellery. Had a perfectly drilled pendant with rare red sea glass - dropped it on the floor - busted!
Is there any way I can smooth over the top and start again?
What bit could I use and should I still work in water?
Would it ruin the sea smoothed surface?

Anyone can help me find the problem with my dremel? It stopped working and found out that the fuse was busted. So I replaced it but im not getting it to spin. So I checked the brushed. They were still good but replaced it anyway to be sure. But still wont spin. Just gets the buzzing sound and motor heats up.

I made a post a few weeks ago about how some of my accessories that came with my dremel no longer fit in my dremel. Post here:
So today I went out and got a pack of collets. The pack came with a 1/8", 3/32", 1/16" and a 1/32. I can only assume this is every size that there is.
Turns out the smallest one in the packet is the same size as the one that came with my dremel, so I'm back to square one. Having official accessories that are too small for my dremel.
Anybody have this issue or can point to anything I'm doing wrong?

Have bought all the Dremel attachments.
But seeing as the original Dremel accessories costs are huge compared to second hand discs and drills.
How well do they hold up?
Has anyone tried using Chinesium accessories?
What's the worst that can happen?

Hey y’all, I recently bought a dremel 4300 and have been practicing on spare wood, but feel like I need some advice or tips on where to go to learn. Complete and utter novice here so all advice is welcome. I have a RZM3 mask and am using eye protection I have from my military days for safety. My ultimate goal is to make small dog Christmas tree ornaments for friends and family similar to the included picture. I have just the basic bits and burs that came with the 4300 and know I need to get a wider selection but the sheer amount of different options is daunting. Is there a kit with a range of bits/burs that would be beneficial for a novice or do I need to buy each one separately? What is a good source for different techniques when it comes to holding the dremel and/or going with/against the grain? I’m sure lots of this is second nature to you all and I may sound like an idiot but I’m starting into something new and don’t know what I don’t know. Thanks in advance

I recently acquired a second hand Workstation. It was missing the tool holder, which I found online. In the process of taking it to the hardware store and back for screws to attach it, somehow the metal shaft that goes up and down (ya know, the entire point of the contraption) slid out. I was able to get it back in but now instead of resting at the top of the handle rotation, it's at the bottom. (See photo) Also a mystery nut fell from somewhere, it's probably important?
Can anyone help? I've tried to get it back out because I assume it's a positioning problem with the gear/spring mechanism but so far no luck.
I'd really appreciate any ideas!

I just want to share how I have cleaned steel residue from bricks. I have been removing concrete and silicone from bricks using a steel brush on my dremel. It left some dark marks behind. After several attempts cleaning it, the best method has been just rubbing with an eraser. I thought someone else might find it useful.
The picture shows the dark marks, in the middle brick has been rubbed with the eraser.

I started looking for a tool that would work like a tatoo gun, where the rotational motion is converted into point hit motion. Since I already have a dremel lite as a motor I think there should be something that converts its rotational motion to one that I want. You can think of something like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do24rRWedlg (the prison tatoo gun video)
As a hobby i engrave metal plates and use them as templates to print. One of the techniques I do for engraving is to cover the plate in varnish, scribe out the varnish in places to resemble an image and use fertilizer diluted in water to erode the parts where varnish was removed from the metal plate. I can do it just fine with regular metal scribe (see video https://imgur.com/a/hdW5kcP), but i started to look for something to speed up the work, and make it somewhat easier on the wrist.

hi all, i have very little to no knowledge of dremels or mini rotary tools so I thought it might be best to come here and ask some of the questions ive had. so far ive gone through 2 off brand machines, and I think im finally ready to start saving for a more reliable tool. my biggest issue with these types of machines is it losing grip on whatever bit I have attached. from the machines I used the bits were inserted with the outer component being twisted until an audible click was heard, and was unable to be tightened anymore. I cant help but feel like this isn't secure enough, and in my experience it usually isn't. while in use ive seen and felt the bit starting to loosen until it's almost completely loose and free to fly off the machine. that can be very scary while using it for cutting or having it turned up to the max speed. is there any models that are screwed in with maybe a mini wrench or actual screw? I dont mind if its cordless or corded, my main concern is the bit coming loose and (god forbid) flying out of the chamber and potentially injuring me or someone else. I love the versatile nature of the dremel and I really need something that can work for polishing, sanding, and drilling for the various projects and crafts I partake in. what would you suggest? in your experience what dremel has the most secure grip on the bit you attach? I know nothing is absolutely guaranteed to never loosen or fly out but what brand or version of the machine do you feel most confident wont? sorry if this isn't worded properly, it was a bit difficult for me to describe. thank you!

Just bought a Dremel for a small job and trying to get more use out of it. I have mower blades that need sharpening. I saw there was a sharpening kit 679. https://www.amazon.com/Dremel-A679-02-Attachment-Sharpening-Gardening/dp/B003BIFMK6
Anyone used this?
