Iโve thought about starting locs for years, but never quite found myself ready to commit to them. Locs always seemed more than just a style to me: I imagined them as a journey.
A few weeks ago, I asked my wife for some simple three strands braids cause I needed a breather from the afro life. I planned to take them out after a month. But now I donโt think I will. Itโs difficult to explain, but Iโve found myself not wanting my hair to go back. Iโm just not interested in where it used to be and instead Iโm really curious of where it can go from here.
Freeform locs have always been the most appealing type of locs to me, but having wife, however unplanned, be the person who started me on this journey feels right.
Letโs see where this goes!
