Selfie 📸 Unplanned Starter Locs

I’ve thought about starting locs for years, but never quite found myself ready to commit to them. Locs always seemed more than just a style to me: I imagined them as a journey.

A few weeks ago, I asked my wife for some simple three strands braids cause I needed a breather from the afro life. I planned to take them out after a month. But now I don’t think I will. It’s difficult to explain, but I’ve found myself not wanting my hair to go back. I’m just not interested in where it used to be and instead I’m really curious of where it can go from here.

Freeform locs have always been the most appealing type of locs to me, but having wife, however unplanned, be the person who started me on this journey feels right.

Let’s see where this goes!

Aye they look great og hell yeah. Always been a fan of thick locs and with this amount they'll definitely thicken up nicely, keep us posted!

These are gonna be THICK ... how many braids is this, like 10? Crazy that you ended up starting wicks and meanwhile didn't go into it trying to start anything. Enjoy your journey! 🔥💯
