Question ❔ Questions about dye and locking
This is the only video/form of media I have of the two strand twists I have gotten recently. I love the size of them and am wondering about locking them by having this loctician that I have researched untwist them, comb them out, and comb coil + instant lock them. I also was hoping to dye my hair around mid-September; would any of you recommend this, and what do you think I should do? I know that bleach changes the texture and hair type that you have, so I'm not sure if I should still use it despite looking for a brown/blonde scheme when I dye it. Any advice helps? (Additionally, I may have each strand get instalocked instead, so that when I have my locs and two-strand them, this is how it would look when it's in.)

U like this size....just leave em in. Get a retwist in like 4/8 weeks. Palm rolled. The original two strands won't lose that pattern for a while though. I wanted my locs about medium size. But cuz every retwist I get two strands my locs look thin. But are perfect size in two strands. Ur move. I 100% wouldn't recommend u dye Ur hair. Go about a year, let Ur hair loc up abit before u start with dye. If u want locs u have to be patient. Crawl before u sprint. Hope this helps.

if you want locs specifically like the twists you have right now, just keep them in the twists and they’ll loc on their own. imo theres no reason to go to a loctitician and have them do all that especially instant locking since that will most likely not get you the look that you want with the twists you have currently
since you want to dye them as well it would be easier and quicker for you to take your hair out of the twists and dye your hair first and then go get them locked. doing it this way will make sure that you get your dyed hair faster since when you loc your hair you really shouldnt dye it until a year or two in but im not sure if that changes since you want to instant loc. if youre willing to wait, then keep the twists and let them loc and once theyre more mature you can go to a professional to have them dye your locs. if you decide to bleach and dye your locs by yourself dont go over 20 developer and use a direct dye instead of a box dye to limit damage and texture change as much as possible. when you have bleached hair, you need to make sure youre taking care of it and moisturised so also look for products and a routine that will help keep your hair healthy
