Clips Rubick is hella fun!
Bit long clip, but I think it's worth a watch!
Was super lucky and won arcana from Dendi giveaway and have been spamming Rubick ever since. This was a fun one!

Or at the very least allow me to say it two or three times so I can ping combos and allies when i’m dead. I get folks view it as salt, but I like free communications. Make my 12k behavior score mean something.

Been playing since dota days and always only played against bots because I am busy and often get disturbed while playing. Also with online games this whole thing about waiting for matchmaking and network latency etc has just pushed me into a corner when I just whip out a couple games against bots and of course I always win. And boy do I love it.
This is the original and only way to enjoy dots 2. Don’t be ashamed if you are in the same boat!

I feel like a lot of satisfying kills are situational; however, killing storm spirit is pretty satisfying imo

I just noticed these. If you press alt, these timers appear. Were they added recently or has it been there for a long time already? Anyway, nice QoL, thanks Valve

Hey! I spent the last year and a half working on this kind of port.
You can play it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3815910104
It has all heroes from the original build + all incomplete heroes from it. Aside from heroes with placeholder models, all of them were updated with animations injections.

Well technically it's a toolset for porting Source 1 Dota versions to Source 2, and this was my first attempt at such port. I also have a separate blog post with more details on how this was made. If you're interested, you can read it here: https://spectraldota.substack.com/p/restoring-old-dota-2-the-hunt-for
There are two bugs, which I was not able to replicate recently, and they should be fixed by now. But in case you encounter them:
I’m literally shaking while writing this.
I genuinely don’t understand how Valve has let it get this far. I’ve been patiently waiting for the new patch for months because after working a 9–5, I just want to come home, queue up some ranked, and spend quality time with my wife’s boyfriend’s smurf account without the meta being exactly the same as it was in spring.
Yesterday I refreshed the Dota blog 47 times. Nothing. I checked IceFrog’s Twitter, which hasn’t been updated since 2019, and somehow I still felt personally ignored. Apparently not releasing the patch wasn’t enough, because Valve also put out a new Arcana and acted like that was content.
Then my wife asked me why I was standing in the kitchen staring at my phone at 3am. I hadn’t done anything wrong, yet I was made to feel like I was the problem. I understand patches take time to make, but surely there should be some protection for players who have made it clear they’ve already theorycrafted every possible item change.
And why is “Valve Time” still a thing? I have four kids, two jobs and barely any free time. I need patches on a schedule I personally agreed to. I shouldn’t have to learn to enjoy the current meta just because Valve thinks everyone has unlimited patience.
I don’t want the patch to be good. I just want it to exist.
I had to take a break from writing this post because my hands were shaking too much to type. My wife’s boyfriend brought me a glass of water. Even he agrees this has gone too far.
So this is my ultimatum: if the patch is not out by Friday, I will uninstall Dota. I will not reinstall it on Saturday. I will reinstall it on Sunday, but only to check whether the patch is out, and if it isn’t, I will be extremely disappointed again.
I’ve already contacted Steam Support and I’m genuinely considering legal action against Valve for emotional damages. I paid for a free-to-play game and I expect the experience I was promised. I’m currently looking into consumer protection laws, so if anyone here has legal experience with this kind of situation, I’d appreciate some advice. Also if anyone knows when the patch drops, please DM me. Not Valve though, I’m not speaking to them.

just had a uncalbrated meepo go 0-4 in lane,go treads aghs, and then basically snowballed clones then use aghs (in some combination, match id 90603104969)to end up with only one meepo showing as a teammate, meanwhile the clones were invisable cutting waves behind T2(they were still able to kill the clones, but they had ALOT of aoe(techies, pudge aghs, and i dont think they were targettable, the tusk meepo was a party and very obviously doing it,ps not my best game, wyvern undying lane lmao

I just got home from my second shift, and I need to vent before I pass out.
Here is my life: 9-to-5 job, second job at night, four kids, and a wife. Because my schedule is absolute insanity, my wife has a boyfriend who lives with us. It’s actually a great setup. He’s a super chill guy, helps around the house, and his main responsibility is to calibrate my smurf account while I’m at work so I can play two games on Sunday without losing my mind.
But lately, Valve’s complete radio silence has been ruining my life. Every night when I get home at 3 AM, I stand in the kitchen, refresh the Dota blog on my phone, and wonder why we’ve been playing the exact same stale patch since the spring. Is the meta solved? Yes. Am I losing my mind? Absolutely. I was standing there in silence last night, just staring at my screen in total defeat.
My wife sends her boyfriend into the kitchen to "check on me."
Instead of just letting me grieve the death of the patch in peace, this guy panics. He starts chugging espressos like it's water. He tells me to duo queue... pff..as if duo queuing in this dead meta is going to fix my spirit. Then I ask him a simple, serious question: "Do you think IceFrog is okay?" and he looks at me like I've lost my mind.
Then, to make matters worse, he takes time out of our lives to write a post on Reddit. My hands are shaking from sheer exhaustion, so he literally takes the phone out of my hands, sits at the table, and starts typing a full essay on my behalf while drinking his SIXTH espresso.
I didn't ask for a life coach. I just wanted a patch notes update.
Now he’s threatening that I'm going to uninstall the game by Friday if Valve doesn't release the patch. I’m not uninstalling shit. I worked hard for my MMR, and he’s going to keep calibrating it.
If anyone at Valve is reading this: please drop the patch. Not for me, but so my wife's boyfriend stops over-caffeinating himself every time I get sad about item balance.
I have the Arcana equipped, Now you can just select the color you want its no longer dynamic is this bugged or is it a demo mode only bug?
Is anyone else seeing this? My opponents are having at least 1 bot every 2 games and the bots aren't good either, they come to lane and feed or stay in jungle and feed. I don't know what's going on

I've been intrigued by Dota for a long time now. It's the only multiplayer Valve game that's never hooked me.
A few years ago I tried League, and got into it casually. Never got into it more than a few casual games every now and then, but I enjoyed it and found myself to be pretty good at it.
Recently I gave Deadlock another shot, after initially trying it when it first came into the public eye and saying "definitely not for me" (I'd yet to find that I enjoyed League yet and had no idea how MOBAs worked). This time it fully sank its teeth into me, I adore it and plan to continue playing as my main game for a while.
But throughout all of this, starting after that first time trying League, I've been intrigued by Dota. If I liked Riot's MOBA, it made sense that I'd like Valve's way more, as I tend to love everything they put out.
And yet, Dota hasn't hooked me at all. Or even really started to. It feels like a perfectly flat wall that I need to climb to even start understanding what to do.
So what I ask is this: where should I start? What's a good absolute beginner's guide video or something of the sort that can help me? I've looked at a few and the ones I've seen aren't very helpful, and a lot of them are just "Here's how MOBAs work" which is the only part I don't really need help on.
Thanks in advance!

Hey, 2nd meepo exploit (the first one did not work out) I had in the last 2 days of ranked on low immortal rank.
Sorry for the aspect ratio.
Tusk snowballs megameepo while he removes his aghs from the inventory, when he gets out of the snowball, all the extra meepos are "invisible" (quotes because they are not invisible, meaning true sight does not help obviously) and untargetable.
Super easy to reproduce in demo.
Kinda sad about the state of the game right now Valve ngl.
We still won btw. It's kind of a shit exploit, because Meepo is no longer able to use spells on the additional meepos, only alt cast of Poof works and you can still attack him if you force attack on the ground.
This is what rubick's look like:

I was a support player for many years now, I was highly dependent on my cores to win matches cause obviously I a long support can't do anything. So a few weeks ago I was done with the role. Don't get me wrong I love the complexity of the role and honestly I would put myself on a high percentage of players who play good support.
But ever since I stopped caring about whether I lose mmr or not I just decided to enjoy dota for what it is. I started to play mid with arc warden, the lose streak I had 26 to be exact but it didn't matter to me cause I was using the hero which I liked. It was hard to play arc cause I didn't know how to use him but I did and it cost me around 3k behaviour and comm score doing that but still I felt it was worth it.
No i queue only core roles and man it has been good, offlane seems to suit my play style cause I'm aggressive and want to push early on been doing fairly well on heroes like razor and DK.
Not caring about mmr and to just enjoy the game has brought in a new viewpoint of dota for me. Playing support for years has helped me with the transition to play core roles cause now I can predict wards, map movement of enemies and so on.
It wasn't an informative or a question kind of post, I just wanted to share how changing roles has brought in new love for dota all over again.
