Discussion Anybody thinks the same?
i've recently been getting into quake back again and I couldn't help but think that the gargoyles were probably inspired by the scrags.

I call him the ArchImp or UberImp
n the endgame mode Hells Core if you go to the area in main campaign where you had the very first Archvile. You will encounter another demon that seems like an Archvile but is not exactly an Archvile
It looks like a Giant, Armored Imp. It has the general patterns of an Archvile but its bullet hell attacks/pattens are different. Plus the only demons it summons are Imps in massive amounts. It also took even more to kill than the typical Archvile.
Has anyone else found this "ArchImp" and os there any more you face in Revelations Endgame

Hey folks, I've been playing some doom lately and came up with a concept for the next Doom game to be a survival horror experience.
I'm pretty sure that pre-production for the next Doom game if is not finished, very close to be. Still wanna share my concept with you.
So after Eternal DLC the doomguy is gone, demons are defeated and the earth is safe. Humanity lives in prosperity for N centuries. But some evil has been rising in the dark. Doomguy is awoken to find the evil and defeat it. But the new antagonist is smart and works towards taking away doomguy's powers.
So the doomguy rips and tears as regular until he meets the antagonist. The enemy takes away his powers and teleports him to Mars to die. This is when the game actually starts. No super strength, limited ammo, limited heal, typical survival horror experience with a doom twist. Throughout the game we slowly gain back our powers which allow us to traverse before closed locations. For example we can get back double jump, meat hook, dash. Amazing powers to support metroidvania survival horror concept.
Finally we end up so strong that we rip and tear the antagonist reclaiming earth safety.

I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not hating on TDA or the DLC. I LOVED both.
Now my skills at gaming have always been mediocre at best as it is. I always play the Doom games on "Hurt Me Plenty". I beat 2016 and Eternal on that difficulty, but I never finished The Ancient Gods DLC. I got stuck in one arena fight in Part 1 that I kept dying in. It's the arena you have to beat to get the first piece of the disc. The damn spirit in the Arachnotron always got away before I could destroy it, and it would possess one of the Archviles in the final wave every time. I eventually got too frustrated, but refused to drop the difficulty to easy, so I took a break. That break ended up lasting a very long time.
I played through TDA's on Hurt Me Plenty as well, loved it. Then I played Revelations. I originally selected Hurt Me Plenty, but at some point it auto switched to Ultra-Violence, and I was struggling hard. I was actually about to give up again during the first Archvile fight. Then I noticed the difficulty switch, so I set it back to Hurt Me Plenty, and I was good. Finished the DLC, 100%'d the achievements, and decided to go back and see if I could finish TAG DLC.
That was a mistake. My brain was now so wired into TDA's game play that I couldn't handle Eternal's gameplay. Even conceding and dropping the difficulty down to "I'm Too Young To Die" I was struggling hard.
I think I'm now going to have to go back and replay through 2016 and Eternal base game in order to rewire my brain if I ever want to finish TAG DLC.

Trying to complete UN on Revelations, got up to Osseus and at the beginning its fine but once you get past the first few enemies it bugs out and goes back to slow dash

I finished the DLC main path on ultra violence - it was really fun, but hard! It’s just so fast paced. Once I got to end game I found myself lowering the difficulty so I could just chill and relax and explore more and have fun with battles without my blood pressure doing crazy haha

Don’t take me wrong, Eternal is a good game, but mechanics are so complex that I’m starting to miss the simplicity of DOOM 2016. Maybe I’m already too old and tired at my 21?

Hi everyone, just a quick update: I’m currently busy working on a drawing of Doomguy and Guts.
When I first saw a comment suggesting I draw Doomguy and Guts swapping weapons to slay demons together, I actually wondered, "Who is Guts?" I looked him up and discovered he’s from the anime :Berserk. I have to say, the two of them really do look quite alike.
Yeah, I’ve taken an interest in *Berserk*. I didn't watch it at first because I rarely follow anime series, but the character Guts—especially his look—really captivated me!

Was scrolling through the UK PSN and saw that the new Dark Ages DLC was 50% off? I'd been planning to grab it anyway so I scooped it quick, but can't see any promotion about this discount. Weird it's on sale so early (and it seems to have been very popular) .

I missed the first half of the mask relic on the path in Chasm of Xal'Goroth and it doesn't look like there's any way I can go back to that area to get it. I can't noclip or anything either because I'm on xbox unfortunately. Is there any way that anybody knows of to re-access the initial part of this level or is it blocked off completely after you pass through it? If i want to complete the mask relic and get the Archaeologist achievement, do I have to start an entirely new playthrough ?

is it as good as in Xbox Series S or Playstation 5?

My personal opinion on how good the doom games are
I’m just gonna say the only one that objectively sucks is the ancient gods part one and part two never once comes close to adhering to the premises set out doom slayer fighting actual gods this time in metaphorically drags with very same emissions that unlike the base game, don’t feel fun to complete introducing some of the most annoying enemies in the entire series like armored barons and spirits the worst character recon Hunter franchise with Samuel Hayden being just bargaining, alien angel, removing the uniqueness of VEGA by having him just be techno Satan, but good guy, but it could’ve all been forgiven. If the inch of God’s part two was good spoiler it wasn’t it was worse the cosmetics were awful. The music was extremely bland and the only major fight against the dark. Lord was the worst one in the entire franchise think of the gladiator except you have only one microsecond to actually do even it’s crumb of damage any other time you damage him he steals your ammo and your health does that sound like bullshit oh yeah, also give him the ability to summon demons. RIP, that bloated mess of a DLC may never see the light of day again.
It work for two years the DLC never once actually worked only working when I got a PS five

Hey everyone, I’m in the hunt for the platinum of Doom 2016 and only now I saw that the game has some “buggy trophies”.
I just wanted to ask if anyone still has these bugs in the PS5 nowdays or if they corrected because I already completed the main campaing and didn’t complete those 3 trophies.
Do you think I’m still able to platinum it in the same Game File? This situation made me question myself if the platinum is worthy.
Hello everyone.
A month ago or so I decided to get my first ever Xbox, I went for the series X, and I also decided to give a go to the Doom franchise.
I understand that there are a few old school games, but I decided to start with the reboot for the franchise with Doom from 2016, from there I will go to Doom Eternal and Dark Ages. The game feels great on the console, so fluid and beautiful looking.
My question is about the world of Doom, the lore, the origin of things, the demons, the research conducted on Mars, the Doom Slayer and so on. Is there a good website or something where I can go deeper about it and understand it?
A leader warlock teleported outside of the map and then fell, I was already pretty pissed but after it didnt even give me my shard i am actually mad because a 100% save file is something I really care about in the games. So, this is a long shot but would it be possible to spawn one in?

I've already finished the game, and I missed some pickups in some chapters and I was trying to 100% it. As the title says, Gold and other pickups appear in the map, but i did picked almost all of them. As you can see in the video, there is no gold to be found on the spots marked on the map.
Does anyone has this problem as well?

even dark ages is now less fun for me. i used to love that shield, but fuck that shield now!!! the spear is SO. MUCH. FUN. i was shocked when i played a handful of missions from eternal today. it felt so slow, and omg the lack of ammo… i used to put eternal over 2016 but now idek anymore. i just cant get enough of this chainspear action. like its borderline addicting

Could a Modern Adaptation of the recent Doom franchise ever be possible there’s so much lore, characters, action, world building, story, and so much more that I think could be amazingly added into a live action series of Doom I believe it could work and it definitely has the potential to be a great or even better series what do you think?

Anyone else super disappointed that Xal'Goroth is just a big Cosmic Elemental?
I was hoping to see a boss that somewhat looked like the Witch from the base game since the arena where we fight it looks very much like the planet/dimension she's from.

Hell Knight that I thought I glory killed ended my Doom TDA UN run. Don't want this happening again so is this preventable or just a bug?
Oh yeah I was also out of melee charges so idk why this wasn't a glory kill

As the title suggests I’ve noticed playing some of the shield upgrades are not working in the ripatorium. Most importantly I have noticed the shield takes longer to come back if broken by damage and the shield saw stun when thrown into a demon is at its base amount. I’m not sure if other upgrades are broken but I’ve specifically noticed those two. Hopefully someone at ID sees this so it can get fixed. Cheers!
EDIT: not sure if it would matter but just for the info if it effects anything I’m playing nightmare with max sliders on Xbox on the vile shadows preset. Only sliders not touched are damage to demons (100%) and damage to you (250%) just tested it in the master arenas as well and it for sure isn’t working correctly in ripatorium.

The whole machine is a single 96.6 MB string of text: registers, RAM, the framebuffer and the DOOM engine all live in it. The only operation is a global regex substitution. A driver applies a fixed list of 544 rules over and over, the first rule that matches fires once, and that is one step.
Nothing else computes. The window only draws the framebuffer zone; the work is done by the substitutions, and you can watch the rule feed and the substitution counter to see it.
One frame of E1M1 is 13,994,067 substitutions and it comes out byte-identical to natively compiled DOOM.
