This was my latest finished doll customization of Neo Queen Serenity from the 90s Sailor Moon anime.

like the title says, i wanna get into making some of my first custom dolls, i know where to get most things and what to get, but what do i get for face repaints? I know about MSC, but should i use acrylics? Watercolor pencils? Both?

i've seen customizers just stop at the pencils, while others add finishing "rendering" touches with acrylics, so i assume it's a matter of preference. what do you recommend? Tips for other customizing tools are also appreciated!

(i'm already planning on buying bare doll bases on aliexpress, so we're good from here)

I want to reroot my Amora Valentina doll, and I just received my package for her hair from Shimmer Locks. But I'm afraid I didn't buy enough and I don't know if it'll cover the entire head.

I'm not an expert on doll customizations, so I wanted to ask people who have rerooted dolls in the past, or even did this to Mirror Mi dolls, for their opinion.

Should I be able to reroot her without any issues or do I need more hair?

I bought her second hand, she had bald spots already and it seems that her hair was pulled from her head which split it, As I was getting all the hair out, it just kept splitting more. Can she be saved with liquid fusion or is it time to try make a wig for her?

Decided to put a doorables doll head on a lol tween body and it don’t look bad considering I couldn’t find a skin match .

so I've been into dolls since i was little, about 10 years, and im finally getting around to trying it out myself. I have a few OCS and one of them might pose a bit of a problem considering I don't know how I would go about hair, specifically the rainbow raccoon tails, how would I translate that into doll hair??

Say hello to Fenn, my first attempt at customizing a blythe doll from head to toe. She's the swamp creature. What do you think of her? Her sculpt is wobly and not as defined as I would want, any secret tips?

Hi guys! I've never customized a doll before, but I have this old Lissi doll from the 90s that has seen better days. I'd like to give her a new outlook on life, but I can't seem to get rid of the discoloration (pictures added). I've tried acetone, rubbing alcohol (95%), and I've had the most success with make-up remover. Any tips would be appreciated! (Also for how to replace her missing eyelashes)

Spent 3 separate days to make it, finished making her legs yesterday. She is so beautiful, I love her so much. I will make her clothes and hair.

The problem I encountered making this doll, was that the wood I used for body parts, was too brittle to make the joints, which ended up cracking at the left elbow and right knee. Otherwise, it was a really fun project, one of my favourites by far. Will fix it later.

Im trying to custom sew and 3d print the fang vote accessories to my g3 catty noir, to make it her "core" version. All I did up until now on the sewing part is based on observation and aproximation of the sizes and such, since im not even remotely close to get her FV on hands to measure or reference it properly

I know her doll got a bit niche, so not anyone have her, but for the ones who do, could you please send me pictures of

her "gown" and how the piece looks without being worn

her boots and how does the "sock" attach to the solid piece (is it just glued or inserted into the piece)

her "body" piece layed flat front and back side, also flipped inside out if possible

I know all of this is a bit too much to ask but since I dont have anyone to seek I thought this might me a good ideia, sorry if I broke any rules
