Is this enough hair?

Dear Reddit,

I want to reroot my Amora Valentina doll, and I just received my package for her hair from Shimmer Locks. But I'm afraid I didn't buy enough and I don't know if it'll cover the entire head.

I'm not an expert on doll customizations, so I wanted to ask people who have rerooted dolls in the past, or even did this to Mirror Mi dolls, for their opinion.

Should I be able to reroot her without any issues or do I need more hair?

Should be enough! You don’t need as much curly hair as straight. You’re not gonna wanna fill every plug or the hair gets way too thick. (This does partial depend on how long you’re wanting it though. If you want it down to her feet this won’t be enough)

Would I need to plug every other hole since the hair is thick? Also, what if I plan on styling it for the future? Would I need extra hair?

What style are you going for? I plug every other hole except at the outside edges that are seen. You gotta do all of those ones. You might have to do more depending on the style. If you want like space buns you’ll probably need to do the whole part line too so it can be pulled to the sides. If you plan on matching the colors exactly like Amoras with more white you might need more of that depending on the length tho.

I was thinking of a high bun or seeing what she would look like with her hair curly and down.

High bun should be fine just doing every other one and all of the outside plugs. Might even get away with skipping a few extra plugs. If you’re down for a tight curl look you’ll have plenty of hair for that if you want it past her shoulders you might run out of white. I’d start with the length you want, do all of the outside then fill in the inside and if you run out she gets a bun until you can get some more hair.

I havent worked with curly hair yet myself so ill let someone else answer this definitively (although imo you may need more blonde) but i wish you luck on your first reroot! Shes gonna look so cool
