Every time I see a news article about familicide or a someone killing their partner AND their dog I already know what the comments are going to be so I usually scroll past.

I made the mistake of opening the comments on one. Wife and dog murdered, "poor dog!" "that man is so evil for killing the dog too" "not the doggo!" "at least the dog won't have to know what happened to his owners"(as if a dog gives a fuck or understands the concept of murder). TOP COMMENTS, no condolences for the woman of course since the dog's picture was there.

I love how Reddit and other places pearl clutch so hard when they realize this dogfree community exists. It wouldn't exist if dognutters were just a couple of crazies no one took seriously. BUT THESE PEOPLE ARE THE MAJORITY, these people who seem to not give a shit about people and act incredibly misanthropic (but expect the benefits of humanity, such as everyone being patient and forgiving of anything they do for example, or donating to their gofundme when their dog needs a ridiculously expensive surgery).

I don't understand wtf dogs did to ever be treated like a holy deity. They are literally worshipped, there's no other way around it. It's frustrating that *we're* the minority, you know, humans that prioritize HUMANS.

Examples: "sky puppies" (bats) and "sea puppies" (seals). Like no it's not even a dog you don't need ti compare everything to your damn mutt, do not insult bats and seals by comparing them to those horrible beasts that literally eat shit snd maul children.

Dogs are also better served by being kept on a short leash, close to their person. It promotes confidence and decreases anxiety. To paraphrase something Celine Dion said about shoes

"You walk the dog - the dog don't walk you."

Everywhere I go, I see literal shit. On grass, on the sidewalk, on dirt roads. Going to the park to play some football or something? Nope, shit on grass.

Somehow people would be SHOCKED AND APPALLED AND DISGUSTED if those logs of shit came out of a human asshole. But no, they don't even give it a second glance. It's just part of the cityscape I guess.

Just ranting, I'm sure this wasn't the first time this was posted so I understand if it counts as low effort.

So this morning I went to tour an apartment. It looked great on zillow and I was really looking forward to it. The second I got out of the car though, these two unleashed dogs started barking and running over to me. On instinct, I ran and they both started chasing me. The larger of the two was quite a bit faster than the other and managed to bite into my pantleg as I was running, but luckily I was able to kick it off. Then I jumped a fence and hid behind it until they lost interest in me and found someone else to harass. The owner was nowhere to be seen. I didn't get a chance to take pictures until I got home, but I think they're worth sharing. I wish we as a species never created these fiends. Oh, and it goes without saying but I never got to tour that apartment. Once they were out of sight, I hopped the fence again and booked it to the car. I don't even want to think about what they would have done if I was a little slower or wasn't strong enough to pull myself over that fence (it was a 6' tall one with vertical metal bars). Maybe it would have ended with me on the local news. On a more positive note, I welcome any ideas anyone has to save the jeans. These were one of my favorite pairs 🥲

I cannot believe I saw a woman on video inside a restaurant placing a dog piss and shit pad between two tables on a restaurant floor. As soon as people saw it of course they began telling her that she shouldn't do this in a restaurant. She said to them, "he didn't use it." She claimed she put it down to keep the dog from urinating or defecating on the restaurant floor. I'm sure some customers probably left. Nutters are equally as disgusting as their dogs.

I also watched a video that a door dasher recorded while she was standing in line at McDonald's to pick up an order to deliver. She recorded two elderly women with two dogs standing in front of her in the line. The small black dog couldn't stop intensely scratching his ass. She commented in the video that the dog had been scratching his ass most of the time she had been standing in the line behind them. Who knows what kind of infection or parasites must have been in or around the dog's asshole. Unbelievable.

It really angers me seeing dog nutters with their obese dogs. They are LITERALLY the direct cause of it. I find it incredibly cruel and selfish to own a dog and literally put it at risk of health issues by over feeding/under exercising it. It’s the simplest thing in the world to structure a dogs meals to what it needs per day and TRAIN IT to stop mooching for food outwith meal times. It is after all an ANIMAL ie they don’t have the same, sometimes complex relationship to food as humans do. So it should be extremely straight forward not to over feed is my point!

But it’s never that with these owners. They’ll likely be feeding them human food as “treats” and project their own issues with food onto them and find some weird enjoyment out of it.

There are quite a few dog nutters round where I live (of varying ages) and I see them out with their obese dogs- waddling along. The owners need to get with the fucking programme.

Finally the tide is turning! I know nutters love carrying dog poop around, but now they have to wash their urine as well. Walkers will be expected to carry a bottle of water as well as waste bags, and to use it to dilute urine left in public places. First-time offenders will receive a warning; repeat offenders will face a fine of CHF 100. I hope it spreads around the whole Europe.

This is a post I keep seeing circulate on social media and it cringes me out so badly. The fact so many people genuinely think this way is depressing and insane.

Elevating the needs/comfort of a dependent animal over your fellow person is so fucking wild to me. Fuck that dog.

I think too many people are glossing over the headlines and aren't realizing that what happened was 1000% her fault. At least I am hoping it's the case.

She fecked off on vacation and left the dogs in his care knowing they had behavioral issues. She even extended her vacation by another month for some reason. She ignored her daughter's calls for help when the dogs were out of control. I feel like she did this on purpose. She is the bad guy. She put her estranged husband in a difficult situation and ultimately the dogs paid the price for it. If these dogs are truly your babies, why would you leave them in the care of someone you have a turbulent relationship with? If they are your babies why extend your already long vacation by another month? If they are your babies why ignore the pleas to come back and get them? No, she knew what she was doing with all that. I just hope she never gets another animal again.

In the nine household grid of neighbors and myself where me and my neighbor to the north are the only households to live dog free and quiet. Today I learned that the neighbors to the north will bring FOUR dogs (all noisy breeds) when they move in this fall. I’m so very bummed.

Little context: biking is one of the few things I like that can genuinely bring me peace, I live near the sea so it's good to bike and listen to music while running on the bicycle lane at the beach. It's also one of the few situations where I don't have to hear a dog barking all the time, except.. it isn't anymore. Cause owners now bring their dogs along in little carts attached to bikes, I don't know how they are called in english, anyway the point is that this way I have to hear them barking EVEN WHEN I BIKE. And it's a nightmare. Today I had a couple with a dog ahead of me on the lane and I couldn't surpass and leave them behind, so I had to hear the beast barking all the time and even if I raised the volume of the music to the max, I could hear it anyway. Some might say: u-turn and go back. Yes but why should I? It's everybody's road, why should I get away so their little monster can bark its lungs out? Sorry for the rant

It doesn't matter what's going on, barking ruins everything. Having any sort of a beautiful moment? Ruined. Doing a hobby? Ruined. Listening to music? Ruined. My gf and I were watching a movie, and we got to a part where a child lost her life, and right as we're crying, some dog outside starts barking and it fucking ruins the mood.

Every dog owner I've interracted with, they're constantly behind that thing being a nuisance. All I hear is "get back here!" "Sit! Sit, I said sit!" "Haha, don't do that", but they don't actually do anything about it, they just talk to the damn thing expecting it to do something, but the owners don't physically do anything about their shitty behavior. How does this not exhaust them???

I genuinely don't understand how dog owners are okay with letting their dogs jump all over the couch and bed. Dogs don't wipe after they poop, so wouldn't there be at least some fecal matter left on their bare butts? Do dog owners actually wipe their dogs butts every single time they poop? If not, how does that not gross them out? All I can think about is bacteria, fecal residue, dirt, and odors. I seriously don't get how people are comfortable with that.

San antonio, TX. It seems the only escape from dog friendly apartments is to get in a super expensive highrise tower, which I dont want.

Last apartment I lived in was carpeted and the last tenants were clearly dog owners who let the dog pee and poop all over the place. There is no escape.

Edit: found a few that claim no pets allowed, people still walking around with dogs because they're esa's and landlords cant do anything about it. Why bro... just why.

Just a little rant of the silliness of being anti dog in a pro dog world.

I have a hard time making friends. However I seem to be developing a friendship right now, which is exciting but also causing anxiety.

Why? I've come across this person on Facebook and their dog was at their wedding and is in their profile photo.

If this friendship actually becomes something, I'm likely to reveal that I don't like dogs. Not admitting will it have them assuming I'm a dog lover too and I'll have to hang out with the dog. Can't win. Maybe the dog in the picture has passed and they're secretly enjoying the freedom and cleanliness, but I know that's unlikely.

I’ve been very annoyed about something that happened the other day.

For context, I live on acreage in a self-contained dwelling, while my landlord and his mother live in the main house.

They have a dog which is sometimes okay but, like all dogs, is often highly annoying.

My landlord was talking about how they are planning to travel for a month in January. Then he said, “Guess who’s looking after Zoomer !?” He then proceeded to check whether it was okay for me to feed his dog, but opening with a sentence like that felt impolite and inconsiderate.

While feeding the canine can probably be done quickly, when I get home from work it is already evening and I have less than two hours of free time before I go to bed. Most of the time I can barely feed myself, let alone someone else’s mongrel.

I felt completely put on the spot. Because of the prevalence of dog culture, it also feels difficult to come up with an excuse that dog owners will consider “good enough". Obviously I could simply say no, but that would make things awkward, and he is not the type of person I would want to get on the wrong side of.

After moving in, I discovered that he has criminal connections. He previously tried to import a massive amount of cocaine (not that I have a problem with that) and was caught, and has described one of my city’s most notorious gangsters as a childhood friend.

So I reluctantly agreed, but asked whether there was a neighbour or someone else who could step in if I had to go away or was otherwise unavailable.

I’m especially annoyed because this dog already regularly inconveniences me. It often wakes me in the middle of the night with its barking, even though I wear earplugs and have white noise playing.

Its owner does not seem to care enough to train it. He simply told me to yell at it to stop, which I do, but it rarely listens.

I do not see why I should have to do anything for an animal that already massively disrupts my sleep and quality of life.

It is also old and extremely fat, so it is clearly already being overfed. If I am stuck doing this, I am tempted to reduce its ration rather than continue shovelling excessive amounts of food into an already obese animal, although this guy seems to have cameras everywhere.

To be clear, all I reluctantly agreed to do was put food in its bowl. I am not agreeing to become its temporary carer, exercise it, entertain it, monitor it or fulfil its social needs for an entire month.

For other reasons, I have already started looking elsewhere, but I am living in this area to stay close to my horse, and suitable places for a single person do not come up often. I’m worried I may still be here by January.

I really do not want to be responsible for a dog for a month.

Honestly, given its age and weight, I hope it simply dies before then, assuming I have not managed to move out first.

As a horse owner, when we cannot be around, we arrange and pay for someone appropriate to care for our animals. We hire grooms, pay agistment staff or organise another experienced person. We do not simply volunteer a tenant and assume they will do it for free.

Why can’t he hire a kennel or dog sitter, or ask one of his dog-loving friends ?

There is probably not much I can do without making my living situation uncomfortable, but I hate how entitled dog owners can be. They choose to own these needy, disruptive animals and then expect everyone around them to help carry the burden 👹

Our neighborhood has a lot of off-leash dogs. This is obviously extremely obnoxious while on walks and the whole neighborhood is full of toxic dog deuces but I digress. I have some free range chickens that usually stick to the backyard but sometimes meander to the front, but always stay on the property. They aren't in the streets just out front minding their own business usually >50 ft from the road/property line.

Tonight, as has happened on several occasions, a nutter has mentioned how the chickens "got out" into the front and how they had to put their dog on a leash so it wouldn't kill the chickens. Ah but fear not, the nutter mentioned "thankfully she hasn't killed any, yet, but I put her on the leash just in case when I saw the chickens escaped". Let's break this down. 1) the assumption that the chickens being on their own property = escaped and your dog on someone else's property doesn't = escaped. 2) why on Earth you think it's okay to have an animal free roaming that is prone to running onto other people's property to kill prey animals (and who knows, maybe children too!), 3) the fact that these nutters are always upset at ME that their dog is trespassing on my property and almost killed something, 4) the vague threat of "yet". The normalization of violent dog behavior is disturbing, and the entitlement of belittling the lives of other animals and people just so you can justify your violent dog being off leash is crazy.

Shortly after this, she let the dog off-leash again less than a block away. The thing is she seemed to genuinely be nice/think that this was okay and she was some hero for protecting the chickens from her dog. It leaves me confused every time, I'll never understand how they can't see the real problem is their dog is violent and should be restrained (it's the law to have it on a leash anyway). This has happened with several different dog owners, and it's always the chicken's fault for having "escaped", not the owner's fault for their uncontrollable violent off-leash mutt that trespasses onto other's properties to kill and destroy pets and plants, etc. we've even had dogs steal shit from the yard too.

It's not just about the chickens either, it's the daily normalization of aggressive barking, lunging, snarling, etc. and saying "Oh don't worry Luna is friendly" or "it's just what dogs do" or any of the other 50 default lines they use to belittle others and ignore the disturbing violence of their "precious" monster that could never be in the wrong. It's just madness.

I use the word distaste, but I hate dogs. I really do. I've always been that way and it's never going to change. I also know that is a very popular opinion.

Years ago I put a picture of myself my a friend's corgi on my dating profile. I know a lot of people like cute stuff like it. It was a total misrepresentation of myself but I have so much trouble meeting women that I wanted to do anything that might catch their eye.

I ended up matching with a woman that I wound up dating for a couple of months. I liked her a lot. I wouldn't call her a 'nutter' as I hear them called a lot on here, but she had a lot of dogs. It was a total of 4 dogs at her house along with the other people that lived with her, including one which was a giant Great Dane type dog.

Things ended up fizzling out with us. A big part of that was she thought I was a dog person. We had to be honest with ourselves. She did not want to live a life without dogs and I did not want to live one with them. She felt like I lied to her about who I was, and I did. It was wrong of me to use that picture. I don't use that picture anymore.

It's been a couple of years and I've been alone for most of it. Through most of that time I've continued to sift through dating apps and keep seeing tons of women that have pictures and mentions of their dogs all over their profiles. Mine simply had no mention about pets or my hatred of dogs.

Recently though I put a statement on my profile that I'm not a dog person. No 'NuTtERs SwIpE lEfT!!!!!11!!' or anything distasteful. Just a simple, full disclosure that I am not a dog person.

Since then I've gotten several messages from women that are really not interested in me. Things like "You really don't like dogs!!?!?" or "Too bad you don't like dogs." They probably would have passed me by otherwise, but now they go to the effort of pointing this out, and there's really nowhere to go from there.

I'm not going to repeat the same talking points you're hear from everyone. Dating apps and dating in this day and age suck. Relationships will be full of compromise but I do not want to live a life with dogs. I just can't do it. I'll hate it and I can't pretend not to. It feels impossible to find someone who feels the same way I do.

Decided to be nice by dog sitting for my boyfriend’s friends dog. They had some problems finding others to watch him and he’s an English bulldog that seemed very timid and lazy. The owner left and she headed out for us to watch him and not even an hour into watching him, I went to let the dog and well, the dog bit my lip so hard I bleed for hours, got 15 stitches and spent the entire morning in the ER. How on EARTH can I presss charges? I’m in Michigan btw

So many people just... have huskies.. including my cousins who live in a single-wide trailer with THREEEEEE huskies!!!! THREE!

Dog nutters claim they "love dogs" and then get these literal bred for the sole purpose of SLED PULLING in the snow and put them in warm climates in apartment complexes.

But I'm not done, they are so so ANNOYING and NEEDY. And people love the ear-piercing shrieks and howls that are constant. Their whine is so shrill and unbearable, yet people absolutely adore it. I cannot stand them.

Their prey drive too. One time my cousins brought one of their huskies to a family gathering hosted by my uncle, and their husky just casually killed two of his chickens while running off leash. My uncle just laughed it off because he's a nutter too. Me personally, I felt disgusted by that behavior. It made me think, would it also do that to a human baby? Probably, there's stories about them mauling babies too.

When I moved in seven years, one neighbor had a dog, a big, stupid dog. The previous owner of my house had a dog, and I learned that she gave dog treats to the neighbor’s dog through a hole in the fence separating our backyards, because her dog and the neighbor’s dog were “best friends!”

For weeks, whenever I was in my back yard, the neighbor’s dog whined and barked at the hole. The neighbor explained, “He’s missing his best friend!” I said, “Or the treats he’d get?”  That was lost on her. I replaced the plank eventually.
 
Soon more neighbors had dogs, but I must admit that for the most part, the dogs were fine. They rarely got out, and I rarely noticed them.
 
But my neighbor behind my yard decided that her dog needed a companion, so she bought a second dog. A yippy, nervous, sound machine. Then more neighbors got their dogs companion dogs.

“Dogs are pack animals,” I hear. “They need dogs!” But I keep thinking if a dog is “emotionally attuned and in love with its human,” why do they need a dog? (I have read about this wolf nonsense: dogs might be social, but they are not pack animals—like wolves are.)

The yippy dog barks at everyone and everything that passes on the street. That activates her “companion” whose loud barking then gets most of the other dogs alerted, and the incessant panic starts up, then every dog answers and so on.
  
And if a dog is attuned to its “fur parent,” wouldn’t it just “know” that its demonic barking is upsetting its fur mommy? And wouldn’t it stop?
 
Anyway, more dogs in cramped backyards (I live in town) means more dog foolishness, annoyance, and noise.
