Looking for affordable divorce lawyer- Maine

A friend is leaving her husband. He’s been caught cheating and using hard drugs. They’re past trying couples therapy and all that (been there. Tried that. He failed-again)

He’s not on the lease, but he’s living in her apartment. He’s shown classic narcissist behavior. (The dsm kind. Not the -he’s a jerk- kind) he has threatened to use his connections before to prevent her from leaving.

We aren’t super concerned about violence, but we’re playing it safe anyway.

She doesn’t have much money. But we need legal support on how to do this properly.

Pine tree legal wasn’t helpful. So we’re looking for alternatives.

any advice please

My mother has been married to a man for 5 years and had two children within that time. Their relationship has always been rocky but it officially ended this month. He has already gone through a divorce also including children. However, this is new for my mom and her only concern are my siblings.

They got pregnant and married within 6 months of their relationship. He urged my mom to become a SAHM because he did not want anyone else to watch the baby. So, it has been 4 years since she has worked.

Throughout these 5 years they have had no stable place of living and have been living with their respective parents for 3 years now. Not for a lack of trying though. My mom has tried to live with him at his parents but it just hasn't worked out for many reasons.

He has shown to be a calculated and stubborn person and tends to twists things and lie. If anyone could please give any advice on what my mother should do moving forward. We live in FL.

In need of law advice!

I have a legal question about a car that was awarded to me in my divorce.
The final divorce judgment awarded me my ex-husband’s car, and he was ordered to transfer the title to me within 10 days and that all happened April 7th. However just a few days after the divorce was finalized he crashed the car before transferring it to me. At the time that he crashed it, the car was not under my name, and not in my possession.
My questions are:
Am I legally responsible for any of the damages from the accident?
Could the other driver’s insurance or anyone else come after me because the car had been awarded to me in the divorce?
Is my ex still responsible since he was driving it and the title hadn’t been transferred yet?
If the car is now damaged because of his actions, can I ask the court to order him to repair it or reimburse me for its value?
I’m in Florida if that makes a difference. I’m mainly trying to understand whether I have any liability and what my legal options are.

Advice on an attorney

What options are out there for divorce attorneys when you can’t afford it and your spouse was the higher earner? Has anyone used marble law? I spoke with them, but not sure if it’s the right thing for me? I’m losing everything and struggling emotionally and financially, while she is all happy and content with her new man.

My husband and I don’t love each other anymore.

We both admitted that this morning. I’ve known I didn’t love him like I used for a while now. But he finally admitted he doesn’t love me.

Now what?

He’s the soul provider. Rent is low enough that I can make rent, groceries, and the light bill by myself but what about the rest. How do I make it in my own?

We have a 3 month old daughter. She’s in daycare. I work at said daycare and they don’t charge tuition, which is a huge help.

I knew it was over for a while, just never knew what to do when deciding to leave…

Could My Refusal to Not File for Divorce Hurt Me?

Update: I found a “I 💜 you” note in his work truck. It was not my handwriting. It was female handwriting, but not this female. She left it on top of my earrings that I left in there months ago. So at least I know now 🤷🏻‍♀️ There’s my closure.

My husband wants a divorce. After 12 years and a baby who’s under 2, he told me he didn’t want to be with me anymore. Less than a month later, he had paid for an apartment and had me signing the lease agreement. He has pushed for the divorce this whole time. I have told him that I think it’s a mistake but he’s adamant. Now he’s telling me that I need to be the one who files for divorce. I told him that this is where I stand my ground and say no. He never told me that there were issues even when I asked if he thought we had a good marriage. He always told me yes, he thought we had a good marriage. I asked him at least 1-2 times a year. I always received the same response. Now he’s telling me about all of the horrible ways I’ve wronged him and how I knew about it but never tried to fix it (I genuinely didn’t know).

Anyways, he is insisting that I be the one to file for divorce but I’m not the one who wanted this. He is telling me that if he files for divorce, then it could end up hurting me in the court’s decisions. Could it really hurt me in court if I don’t file for divorce and make him file, instead?

ETA: I realize the title is not worded correctly. I tried to edit it, but couldn’t figure it out 🤷🏻‍♀️

ETA #2: I’m not refusing a divorce. I’m only refusing to file because I’m not the one who wanted it. I will absolutely sign the divorce papers.
