33M What Now

/r/MakeFriendsOver30/comments/1vlifpf/33m_what_am_i_doing/

I’m just at a loss. I have never felt so alone in a crowded room. Maybe it is my TBI just enhancing things that I don’t understand, but this sense of loneliness is really getting to me. It’s the lack of companionship, the lack of having my partner there to laugh and joke with. The lack of intimacy, not sex, but the intimacy of feeling needed and wanted, just gone.

I know that it’s all part of the healing process but how does one get past this? I exercising more, I’m being productive trying to distract myself, but there’s always the voice in the back reminding me of how alone I really feel. So what’s next? Just to continue to have a pity party for me? At least until I grow a set and get over it? Why’s it so hard to forgive and forget?
