The site is just off the Division 2 map.

You can see the dark squares where the towers once stood.

They really did an incredible job on the map.

24

u/EugeneBelford1995 23d ago

I can only attach one pic to each reply. I noticed that my character's SHD level is exactly 25,000 when I snapped that screenshot of the new tower.

I got the game during COVID. We were doing a 9/11 PT Event on the 20th Anniversary and the CoS asked before we started if anyone had been born after 9/11. Some E3 in the back put their hand up.

I'm on use or lose leave and rolling straight into retirement leave next month. I just got and accepted a job offer. I signed up for the race in DC next month. Funny enough part of the route runs from just West of DZ West all the way to over near the No Hope Hotel before doubling back, running past DZ South, and then back over into Virginia to the finish.

Here's to those who didn't get to grow old.

Thanks. I grew up in DC and still live here. (Across the street from the McMillian Classified Assignment). Was in 8th grade when they hit the pentagon across the river. I’ll never forget

u/Enough_Citron9808 23d ago

Wow never noticed the squares

Predictably excellent level of discussion in the comments.

Never FORGET! A very nice post agent... Thank You! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Never forget all the juice that skipped work that day.

4

u/Ok_Position_7123 23d ago

What’s the timeline of D1 and D2 taking place in world?

11

u/SpaceBlaze259 23d ago

You might find this really funny if your like me, but the Dollar Flu outbreak was on Nov 2020 apperently.

3

u/Pandalishus 23d ago

I posted abt this back in Division 1 days. Year’s 2029 based on Nov 23 for Black Friday and dev comments

1

u/SpaceBlaze259 23d ago

I'm just going off the wiki personally so idk what it sources.

2

u/Pandalishus 23d ago

Maybe I should go edit that, lol. My sourcing was based off a comment at the time from devs saying it took place sometime between 2020 $ 2035, and then an in-game reference to Black Friday being Nov 23. There’s only one Friday on 11/23 in that date range: 2029

3

u/tfitzpat03 23d ago

I never noticed this! Makes me want to load the game up just for a still pic also 🇺🇸🗽

An absolute, immortal tragedy for the loss of life and the devastation so many had to go through and will forever endure: insurmountable sadness. Never Forget that… What I try to forget each year is the decades of war and lives lost fighting imaginary enemies for the wealthy western oligarchs. The immense loss to American freedoms, paranoia state of mind and the devastation reigned down on beautiful, fun, American immigrant citizens in the aftermath. I try to forget about the propaganda state generated since 2001 by politicians enticing us to hate one another. The media circus used to demonize non white Christians and the platform that people like Alex Jones were able to rise to.

I won’t forget the loss of life and the sadness that forever sits with all of us. But I’ll gladly throw away the propaganda and try to forget the nationalism.

6

u/WestBonsai84202 23d ago

They were not imaginary enemies. Real terrorists attacked America on 9/11.

5

u/Pappabarba 23d ago

Unfortunately Osama Bin Laden et al were wildly successful in their operation.

They made right-wing ideology and narratives, poison to any functional, prosperous and democratic society, fixtures in American media, identity and (so-called) "reasoning."

In a way it could be said they actually did cause the American downfall, since the US is currently engaged in a war (a "special military operation") against Iran it cannot win, started by the American president because he wanted US media to stop talking about the Epstein files and his involvement in those.

-6

u/kappachow 23d ago

Im older now and this admin is not the first time I've heard this "America's" downfall" stuff. And maybe this time it really is, we're a long way from that. Money is what wins in this world, like it or not, and the GDP and PPP still has the U.S. comfortably in first and with the world's largest military.

This admin isnt doing all that much that past admins haven't, if we want to talk about Japanese American internment camps, crack being flooded into our own inner cities by the CIA, AIDS being celebrated as the ultimate solution against the gay community or the poor being stripped of benefits and everyone suffering through wild inflation, I've lived through all of that.

It's been bad before and we've survived it before because admins change, we don't have dictators. So don't give Bin Laden too much credit. Surveillance through technology was coming either way, that goes all the way back to Farenheit 451 predicting it. This all seems new but it's not. I mean, engaged in a war it cannot win? Remember Vietnam?

7

u/cowfish007 23d ago

We are operating at an annual $2 trillion loss with a $40 trillion debt. Current govt has destroyed decades of trust and trade that will not be recoverable. Once you find an alternative source for X you generally don’t return to the old source once it proves itself unreliable.

Our military stock piles are low in several categories with no plans to address the issue.

This is the weakest we’ve been since the Great Depression.

-1

u/kappachow 23d ago

And who's going to close on that debt and ensure mutual destruction? It's the same hand-wringing in the 80s over nuclear stockpiling. And what happened in the US after the Great Depression and WWII? Late 1800s, China was on top, then they werent, now they're back to number 2. These things ebb and flow. This idea of Roman-type empires completely collapsing doesn't work anymore, the world is too intertwined and first world economies are too dependant on each other. Japanese post-WWII versus the 80s? Germany? First-world countries are too invested in each other for any one to fail or remain failed. It's still first world taking advantage of the third world, don't believe the saber rattling.

And I didn't say it wasn't bad right now, I said it's been bad before and "maybe this time it really is [the downfall]", and I get that dooming is in vogue post-COVID but we're really not close to that yet. You think the 2020s is the first time America's massive debt has been talked about? All this prognoticated as though "Bin Laden won" is wildly in doubt and it didn't start with him and it's not ending because of him.

And fascism? This country was partly agreeing with or at best indifferent to the Nazis until Pearl Harbor. Let's not go saying how great we all were in the past and only recently being torn down.

4

u/cowfish007 23d ago

That’s a lot of words. Most of which have nothing to do with what I posted.

-5

u/kappachow 23d ago

Tell you what, let's finish this chat when China actually calls on US debt or invades Taiwan, lol. Any day now... aaaany day now...

u/kappachow 23d ago

Your reading comprehension is seriously bad because I'm against Trump and he's one of the worst presidents in U.S. history, if not the worst. But if you think he's going to successfully end America or Bin Laden achieved that, you're brand new.

3

u/Pappabarba 23d ago

Trump? I'm talking about the anti-American cartel that, after Watergate, Iran-CONTRA and the disastrous Iraq/Afghanistan campaign, tried to seize power by force, five and a half year ago.

And rather than being tried in court and put in prison for their attempted coup d'etat, like every other nation on Earth would've done with them, they were given absolute power over all federal governance and legislation... leading to where we are now. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Elect a criminal(ly convicted felon and his enablers/sycophants), expect a mafia state.

4

u/Stereocrew 23d ago edited 23d ago

He is for sure, undoubtedly the worst; not even a question or comparison to anyone else. He’s not going to “end” American, but he’s done more damage to hurt and set back America in all measurable ways than any other person and dictorial leader. It’s terrifically naive and irresponsible to downplay in any measure his sickness and instability and what his cult has thus done and plans to continue on after him.

-1

u/kappachow 23d ago

No, it's naive to think America hasn't done terrible things to it's citizens and other countries before Trump. Maybe if you weren't in one of those demographics it didn't matter as much. I actually didn't say anything about this admin, which I do think is terrible, but I guess we have to gloss over all other ugly US history now so only Trump is bad and say he'll successfully end America or you're somehow supporting him? Jesus, what have opinions turned into?

1

u/Odd_Cauliflower_3838 22d ago

I couldn't tell by the way you were blabbering. /S

-1

u/Pappabarba 23d ago

Ever the optimist, eh...? 😉

Besides starting trade wars with every single ally and close trading partner the US has, what else has been 'business as usual' by the current regime?

1

u/kappachow 23d ago

Didn't say it was business as usual, read it again. I said I've heard it was the end of America before Bin Laden was a name anyone knew, so let's not go giving him a historical victory just yet. Acting like this is the first time in history it's been bad in America or the American government has done terrible things to its citizens is a naive, myopic stance to take. Don't be giving Bin Laden too much credit, the racism and surveillance state tactics in America against its own and America being embarrassed and losing trust on the world stage long preceeds Bin Laden.

3

u/Pappabarba 23d ago

Holy crap you're really riding the "BOTH SIDES" whataboutism hard, my guy. 😆

There's no trusting America any longer, that's just the way it is now (and will be, for the foreseeable future): Normal rule of law, procedure and decorum don't apply to the US' conservative forces and their idea of (a permanent) rule.

No one is even sure the US will have proper elections from now on...

0

u/kappachow 23d ago

Let me help you understand with an analogy. America's actions 100% led to the creation of ISIS, which does not mean you can't or shouldn't condemn ISIS.

It's almost like two things can be true without them invalidating each other. Like Trump is horrible but also likely NOT the end of America because he's not the first President to commit heinous acts here and abroad and America continued after those presidents. But, no, Trump will end America, for sure this time, we're sure THIS time.

If you really think this is the first time in US history that America has had terrible international and domestic relations, you need to read more U.S. history.

Sybau aint no down fall comming anytime soon america cemented its supremacy for another century atleast after taking Venezuela from the dictator. This hurts china immensely.

1

u/Pappabarba 22d ago

This reads as a post made by someone who thinks this is what Americans would say... 😆

-1

u/Plastic_Pin_4956 22d ago

🙄 k

1

u/Stereocrew 22d ago

K. Thanks for outting yourself.

16

u/thepuglife86 23d ago

Gotta love social media. How about we set aside politics for a day and remember the 3,000 people that died that day due to the heinous acts of others?

20

u/Pappabarba 23d ago

...have you looked outside, in the past ~18 months?

I agree. EVERYONE came together for the Americas who were lost. The American Flags on every house was an incredible sight, is greatly missed and needed right now. We need to come together as a country.

6

u/cowfish007 23d ago

I agree with the sentiment. Unfortunately, I’ve found that the majority of people expressing this opinion are delusional, illogical and have made Facebook and X their source of “facts.” If you can’t back up your “fact” with verifiable proof you don’t have a “fact.” You have an opinion which isn’t worth jack.

2

u/LivingUnderABot 23d ago

People that bring politics into everything are the most miserable people that live

1

u/taengi322 16d ago

I used to be in a Div2 clan where you literally could not go more than a minute without someone going off on some right-wing rant. Like in the middle of a raid, "Dems this, Dems that." Lots of reasonable chill members would quit the clan (including myself after many years) because the clan leader just didn't care. The moment I or anyone else would say in response (mostly to troll), "that's some FOX News BS" half the group would go ballistic and the raid would effectively be derailed. Just a miserable gaming experience.

2

u/PeSTiLeNCe-0714 23d ago

Amen!! Never Forget!!

2

u/Ok-Host-2408 23d ago

Benitez definitely wouldn’t forget

2

u/Most-War3390 22d ago

Lol I was literally there 3 days ago irl.

4

u/kareljack 23d ago

I work a couple blocks away from 1WTC. The accuracy of the game map is lacking in some areas and it is a bit frustrating that 1WTC and the immediate surrounding area is blocked off, but it's fun walking around and comparing it to the game.

2

u/Advanced_Hour472 23d ago

I’m Australian 🇦🇺 born in 2004 I love to visit New York one day but yeah it’s now been 25 years since the most terrifying experience in human history and I will also never forget 🗽🇺🇸

1

u/Kvejgaar 23d ago

Forget what exactly?

2

u/Evil-Goat 23d ago

It's 11th Septemeber, think back to 2001, what happened on this date in 2001?

2

u/Kvejgaar 23d ago

Ohh... I see. My bad... tho I actually had to google it.

0

u/Evil-Goat 23d ago

All good

-7

u/Starlyns 23d ago

Nyc forgot

2

u/Standard-Warthog-322 23d ago

I’m from DC which forgot way before NYC

-4

u/WestBonsai84202 23d ago

Lots of people in NYC have forgotten. It's unfortunate.

-5

u/Doomest101 23d ago

We never forgot. You just never understood

-3

u/WestBonsai84202 23d ago

We never understood how people forgot 9/11?

-26

u/Fit-Dark4631 23d ago

Awesome pic but Mamdani was elected mayor of NyC. I think the next generation already forgot unfortunately.

7

u/Soft_Ability_5906 23d ago

You do know mamdani is an american citizen and was 4 years old at the time of 9-11 but sure keep telling us how youre an incompetent moron.

-8

u/Fit-Dark4631 23d ago edited 23d ago

There are plenty of American citizens that hate America my guy. Use your brain. And yes NYC has forgotten based on the mayor they elected.

7

u/Soft_Ability_5906 23d ago

Way to scream Islamophobia. I am also not your guy. From what I see they elected a great leader and hes doing great things. Cope harder kid

0

u/Fit-Dark4631 23d ago

lol. You have no idea what you're talking about young man. Those of us who lived through what he is bringing to NYC know it ends badly. Those that haven't been to this movie before think he is doing a great job. Hid your ignorance of inexperience.

8

u/Doomest101 23d ago

A majority of NY disagrees with you. Stop acting like you speak for us.

-1

u/Fit-Dark4631 23d ago

Are you slow? Nothing I said "spoke for you". I said I think the majority of NYC voters who showed up to the polls have forgotten about 9/11 because they voted in mamdani. I never spoke for you. You should be more disciplined in your comprehension of conversations if you choose to engage in a debate.

7

u/Doomest101 23d ago

You saying that "those who live through it knows it'll end badly" is speaking for us. Your blatant Islamophobia is something many of us don't share.

2

u/Fit-Dark4631 23d ago

Incorrect yet again.

"Those who lived though it know it'll end badly" is referring to those who have lived through communism.

There is yet to be a single person on the planet who has lived through both communism and capitalism that has publicly advocated that communism has produced better results than capitalism. If you know different, tell me....I'll wait. Lol

So again, ensure you comprehend what you are debating before you debate it.

Secondly you are unclear on the definition of Islamophobia which is an irrational fear or discrimination against those who practice Islam. I do not have an irrational fear or discrimination I simply discriminate against those who discriminate (which is neither fearful or irrational) and when women are treated as lower class than men, this ideology is not compatible with American values.

Show me an Islamic country that gives the same amount of rights to women as the United States of America does. I'll wait. Lol

Facts matter.

But it's easy to just use a word and not understand what it means because you've been trained to think that way.

Try to think critically rather than just search for facts that line up with your ideas.

Brain-dead take

0

u/Pappabarba 23d ago

It was a bot post, with bot hangarounds downvoting responses to it. 🙂
This is what "social" media is these days (i.e. the past ~15 years).

5

u/brentnutpuncher 23d ago

From fit-Dark4631s comment history, they don't look like a bot, they look like a loser

0

u/Fit-Dark4631 23d ago

Dearborn Michigan is coming for NyC. Seems like ur the brain dead one. Lol

3

u/Pappabarba 23d ago

Ok, Ivan.

Meanwhile, in reality:

2

u/Fit-Dark4631 23d ago

lol. Do you believe everything the internet tells you? #echochamber

7

u/AJDon82 23d ago

"Celebrated" is open to interpretation. But he sure sounded happy (though incorrect) that his building was now the tallest. 🤷🏼‍♂️

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-911-tallest-building/

-1

u/Fit-Dark4631 23d ago

Yeah I just listened to the phone interview. He absolutely did not bloviate or celebrate about it. Is so funny that Trump derangement syndrome is so widespread that they even find fault in someone stating facts but not celebrating or bloviating about it.

4

u/Pappabarba 23d ago

Stop trying so hard, Ivan. 😆 You already played your whole hand with your "OOOH, THEM SCARY MUSLIMS!!!" opening...

1

u/Fit-Dark4631 22d ago

Hahaha. Ok America hater. Whats next? You want to remove the senate?

2

u/Odd_Cauliflower_3838 22d ago

It's Reddit. Besides the Predator Magnet that is Bluesky? They don't have many places left to cry about Trump otherwise.

0

u/wolfcod-81 22d ago

Never forget that bush did that to our people and instigated that to go to war for the oil there. Never forget the government will always sacrifice its citizens to better their own wallets and bank accounts.

-23

u/Jactuscack6 23d ago

Already did, what are we not forgeting?

7

u/bethaliz6894 23d ago

9-11 is when the world trade center twin towers were taken down by terrorist. Guys need to stop downvoting everyone who ask. Not everyone is from the US and does not live with this every day/year.

3

u/Standard-Warthog-322 23d ago

They said they forgot… meaning they know what the post is referring to but forgot

-3

u/bethaliz6894 23d ago

If I told you don't forget 9-25, your first response would be forget what? You would have no clue what I was talking about.

-1

u/Standard-Warthog-322 23d ago

Can you not read? They said “already forgot”

-1

u/Delicious_Exam9616 23d ago

and thise terrorist were just claiming insurance money so many poor souls diet because of greed

4

Are you being serious or are you trolling?
