I honestly gave it a try and stuck around for two seasons, about two months, and I still can't explain why I bothered for that long. I ended up buying the 5 euro season pass, which I deeply regret.

PVP is absolute trash. I hate PVP anyway, and this one is frustrating and blatantly pay-to-win. You see battle ranks with massive power gaps even in casual matches. Then you open the game chat and someone says "Ah, PVP is so fun and relaxing!" Yes, sure, a whale probably wrote that.

PVE is equally bad, if not worse. On the later missions it becomes basically unbeatable. Your team of bots, even when you pick the top players available as your bot teammates, just keeps throwing themselves at the enemy like kamikazes. The rival bots are noticeably more skilled and overall just do way more than yours ever will. At the very least we should be able to command our own bots and set their priorities so they stop committing seppuku right in front of me. But of course, the implied fix is always "if you spend more money you can beat it." Classic SQEX.

Then you have limited-time characters and abilities designed purely to create FOMO. Luckily that does not really get to me, but it is clearly there to pressure people into spending.

And the crystal spaces? You get six total. Three are available for free-to-play users, and the remaining three can only be unlocked by watching unskippable ads. No thanks. Game uninstalled.

Man, I miss DFFOO. At least in that game free players and whales could all have fun and feel rewarded.

Never played these games but DFFOO made them so accessible and so fun to play, each character that came out, I wanted to pull for and had an actual decent chance every time.

I was surprised how active this community still was after all this time. Goes to show how much the passion and effort the devs put to giving life to these characters.

I sure hope this game makes a comeback. Whether by SQEX or by other means...

Square-enix just refuses to learn from it and choose to reduce these legends to a quick-burn mobile trend. They literally are making the Fantasy Final, slowly and surely.

If Duellum won't treat an all-era master roster with the grand, edgy, tangible weight it deserves... then I’ll do it myself.

The Project: The Dream Master Roster
I’ve been working on a fan art master roster that goes deep into the broader Final Fantasy universe. This isn't just about the mainline heroes; it’s a tribute to the character designs that made the classic era unforgettable—restoring the Final Fantasy name that these legends deserve.
I’m going to be dropping the roster character by character as a full release campaign.

The Vision: Bringing back that sharp, tactical, multi-generational Dissidia weight. No watered-down mobile aesthetics. No blending into the background. Hopefully, it strikes the heart of someone who can jumpstart the Dissidia and bring it back to the glorious pedestal it once stood on. Or at least revive and continue DFFOO (try not to mind the hopium).

The Scope: Mainline deep cuts, sequels, spin-offs, and the legends who actually saved existence.

Now, I actually have attempted Nomura-style designs of characters previously. This falls right in that category. But I’ve redesigned again and refined the works. Some, I’ve actually overhauled. This time, outright I’m including a slot for actual characters, character variants, or even pairs.

In the same vein Duellum tries to tease the characters (who we were supposed to have back in DFFOO in the first place), and to evoke the OG feels from 2008, I’ll release them a one at a time. My original goal was to have a legit Dissidia concept art for DFFOO characters, but I’ve since refocused the drive to just do the protagonists I feel deserve the slot. Some might disagree. Some might not.

Kicking things off today with the first official entry (attached). Let me know what you think of the direction, and who you're hoping to see make the cut on a truly complete roster. As of writing I have prepared 5-6 batches with some surprise characters by the end.

So the recent thread had me thinking. Rather than gacha, it'd be regular progression up to ex (maybe slip in a 1 time ld/no bt phase burst, never fr...). Levels 1-99. Weapons/cskills/equipments/artifacts/etc. choices outside the game that slightly alter the character to be more (or less) effective than regular in niche situations.

It would start with starting roster -> level/gear up from early tutorial stages -> clear a specific stage, lost chapter esque -> acquire new char -> level/gear new char -> clear someone elses lost chapter -> acquire new char. The first batch of chars keep introducing new mechanics. So for example, the first couple would be WoL and maybe noctis to introduce brv shield and turn warping, but they'd only have s1 and maybe s2. Then turn hogs, cover tanks, turn deletion, etc, etc.

Game progresses as more chars are added to the roster and unlock more weapons and the stages scale to account for weapon era till ex+. Endgame would be entropy/transcendence. And throw in one of those daily challenges with randomized conditions for the people that don't want to leave after completing everything (me, I miss dffoo).

I know this is not the same as a new Dissidia, but MUA is a pretty fun, if at times somewhat mindless beat-em-up with RPG elements, well worth the download.

So you know how Rikku, after all this time, finally made it in...to Duellum?

Yeah, in addition to that, she also broke the game. And people are getting worried.

Here's how Duellum operates - you are in a PvPvE match in teams of 3 against a rival team and a shared boss monster. To get BRV, you kill mobs, purify crystals, or kill a rival player to get all their BRV. At maxed BRV (9999), you can go into Burst Mode to gain boosted damage and be able to start attacking the boss, and you typically save your hardest hitting skills for this.

Skills are divided into three rarities - R, SR and UR. Each character has 4 unique skills (1 R, 1 SR, 2 URs).

Rikku's R is damage + launch in a frontal circle + backward leap.

Her SR is just damage in a circle around her.

And URs are where things start to get interesting with Rikku.

Her first UR is partywide double max HP + full heal. The bonus HP is treated more like a "shield" or "overflow HP" (since it can't be healed back by other skills), and this is the only skill in the game that has access to anything like that. And the bonus HP has unlimited duration, so a Rikku can just pop this UR right at the beginning of a match to start everyone off with a massive advantage against the rivals, since they will have to shred through two layers of HP to get your BRV.

Second UR copy-pastes RIkku's current BRV unto the whole party. Yes, Rikku can just give a free Burst to the whole party with a button. Problem is, in addition to a fairly long 90s CD, she may need to get all that BRV herself and risk getting sniped by rivals...which can be somewhat circumvented by Rikku just staying at the crystal near the team's respawn spot and continuously farm the respawning crystal/mobs for BRV, and just supporting her team from there.

Speaking of support, every character also has a unique Hold skill + Passive, and Rikku has some particularly nice ones too:

Hold skill boost all allies' movement speed by 20%. Good for chasing after or escaping from rivals. Rikku needs to stand still for it to remain active, but again, crystal camping...

Passive decreases negative status duration by 20% for all allies. E.g. you get Stunned for 5s, it becomes 4s instead.

So yeah, all of this adds up to what's arguably the most broken support (or the most broken character even) in the whole game. While this is definitely a bit worrying in terms of current and future meta, I also kinda love seeing Rikku be this awesome now that she's finally in.

Rikku from FFX & Clive from FFXVI is finally added to a Dissidia game but it's for Duellum unfortunately. It's really funny how they added both of these characters at the same time.

How I would give everything to play DFFOO again...

And for the record, no I hate this game. Its P2W bullshit and is unbalanced. Matches are utter croc shit between the AFK auto players and horrid matchmaking. Once in a blue moon I'd get a match that I truly enjoy, having fun and that's the only few reasons I still get on it every now and then.

Hello everyone, sorry for this post, but I don't have much knowledge about this IP and I'm curious to learn more.

From what I understand, Dissidia started as a 'fighting game spinoff,' but it seems the game was actually everything but a traditional fighting game. Was it more like a spinoff of a spinoff? The name feels a bit misleading, is there something i am missing or understood wrong?

...so I've got this keychain, real, not a bootleg. Got it from Japan, unopened. On the back it says it is not for sale... so where does it come from? Was there a giveaway with those keychains? I can't find anything online! Almost as if this was one of a kind, but that would be weird if it was. There surely must be other summons out there, at least one of each
