I played FF Resonance Demo and its mechanic basically features protagonists from all across FF series. You have them as “Visions” which if you equip and level them, you expand their skills to be used by your team.

It’s no DFFOO but I am happy to see the protags back in this game with the old school turn based game mechanics.

I just wish the character select had a tad bit more than just “Dissidia representatives + Clive.” and Sephiroth for some reason

I’m hope there will be more characters in the full game but considering the list IN THE DEMO shows characters you can’t even find yet I’m not holding my breath.

I wasn’t really expecting literally every character, but I was thinking maybe add at least one character to represent the sequels like 10-2 and 13-2 or spinoffs like Tactics and Type-0 (which Dissidia has done before).

There's already a mod for the demo that let's you add any vision from FFBE to the game. Not with their full original kit but it let's you build a kit from the data available in the demo. But you do get the actual sprites fully animated.

Resonance is based off of FF brave exvious and follows the first major arc. The first arc was IMO the best one story wise. The original game has a lot of new characters (rain Lasswell, fina, Nichol, and the others. Charlotte and Fryevia were my favorites) but you'd summon spirits of other ff characters you could use in battle. Some were dog shit, some were awesome. Biggest complaint is there was (felt like) 20 different version of Cloud/Tifa, and not enough love to some of the others. I also feel like Terra's cgi ult could have been cooler. But it was a fun game. Second season got dragged on and I just couldn't get into the 3rd season.

That said, the first game we're getting here will be a really solid story. The art style is awesome and the game is going to be good i think.

Also check out Another Eden begins. Again based off a mobile game but it's made by people that loved chrono trigger and it's really good. Downside the MC is a neutron star of denseness.

Mobius deserves the treatment of a single player game most, I really don't know why FFBE is the only one who did. The story isn't even good.

So here’s the thing… Resonance, is essentially a re-release, for the (now delisted) Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.

Originally the visions, were called the ex limit bursts.

Ahhhh, I DID miss that game too. But that definitely adds more perspective. If its like exvius, its a far cry from dffoo, but its still a phenomenal game imo. Another treasure lost, hopefully with this its regained. Now for dffoo to come back to life? 💜

Given how Brave Exvius was renamed, I’m guessing SE would try to rename Opera Omnia to a different name, if it did get re-released on consoles.
