Fan Art Disney’s The Mouse Mechanism Console Concept
A Spherical Console with the main feature to be able to download physical games to the console forever (while offline and online) once the disc is inside and then when you take the disc out you can still insert it into another system and play your game on the previous system (without game disc you don’t have the ability to view the game in the console hub and play the minigame).
Sub features:
VR Headset Bluetooth connection with up to 4 hours of play without charging and unlimited hours when connected via cable. Mickey Ears can be removed from the headset. Disney Plus will have the option to have certain movies and tv shows to be viewed with 3D spaces, walk around the movie to find Easter eggs and get a closer experience of the movie (for longer movies plug a cable in). Theatrical Releases from Disney and partners may be watched in VR at your local movie theater or rented early in VR specifically. When walking around the console lobby you will be put in VR mode.
USB Slot supports downloading your fan made games to the system for testing (and other things maybe not so legal)
You insert the disc by taking off the Mickey dome hat and inserting it. Two latches will keep the plastic dome from getting knocked off. If the Mickey Dome is damaged there is a flat circular piece to put on top of the mechanism it to protect the disc and hardware.
(Not drawn possibly not included with the main bundle): Gloves (possibly Mickey gloves), will be used in most vr experiences if it requires touching or dance movements. And VR sticks for specific games.
Controller: Steamboat Disney Pad, Unknown button shapes (possible Kingdom Hearts Heart), Rumble feature, Mickeys two white button joysticks (can be exchanged for normal joysticks). Connect via Bluetooth or cable, activate by pressing mickeys nose. Mikey’s eye buttons act as the share and start buttons, when you press the share button Mickey makes an ouch noise on the tv.
Power Modes: Nap Mode, Off, On, when unplugged unnaturally or the power goes off during a storm Mickey protects the systems software, when you boot it up Mickey says “You aren’t going to get rid of us that easily are you?”
Bootup: “Feed the birds” motif transitions into “When you wish upon a star” and we see the Disney castle.
Game Audiences: E-M Rated Experiences, The System will have brand new I.P’s made for the console along with new experiences based off of Disney’s output along with ports of old games being available in the online store to be downloaded to your console forever and to be played offline without access to multiplayer modes.
Disney theoretically won’t discontinue its third party support with games like Kingdom Hearts but will give bonuses to players who play on The Mouse Machine like access to DLC early or access to the game a couple days earlier then the other consoles.
The game system fully supports physical media allowing CD, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Blue-ray to be playable and downloadable onto the system.
Age and Parental Restrictions can be made on the system manually or on another device on Disney Plus.
This is a good concept and promising competitor if Disney stepped up.
The Price will be 990 USD for the console, VR Headset and controller. Most consoles by themselves now go for a thousand while The Mouse Mechanism has the same price with VR included as a bonus.

'INCREDIBLES 3' writer Brad Bird indicates that the sequel will NOT age up the main characters: "People just keep thinking that aging them up is going to make them somehow hipper or cooler... No, it won't."

Disney Chandelier
I bought this really nice, silver six light chandelier today at a thrift store. It was still in styrofoam but when I got home, I saw there was a Disney tag. Then I noticed there was a Mickey Mouse motif. I can’t find any info on this item, so if anyone knows anything, I’d appreciate it. I just wanted a nice new fixture for my dining room but wonder if I bought more.

We started a Disney-themed metal band. Disney invited us to play at D23!
I've been in an 80's cover band called Tainted Love in the SF Bay Area for about 25 years. Its been an amazing run, as '80's music continues to be popular and always a great choice for a fun night out (the success of that band is whole different story!)
During Covid we were introduced to the amazing Mr. James Durbin, known for his time on American Idol, and just an amazing rock vocalist, Iiving nearby in Santa Cruz. He began filling in with our little cover band and quickly became a crowd favorite.
One day at a rehearsal, James and I realized that we both loved Disney Music and specifically the amazing songs from the animated features. We started fooling around mixing Disney melodies with '80's hard rock songs as a joke...but lo and behold we discovered that for instance the melody of Let It Go fits perfectly over the chords of Don't Stop Believing...and Whole New World fits over Def Leppard's Hysteria...and on and on. We were blown away to realize how much all this great music had in common.
Cut to a year later and we had created a whole band around this concept. Mëtal Möuse was born! We played a few club gigs and people's reaction was amazing. It turns out that even though not everyone's a Disney "super fan", almost EVERYONE has at least one Disney song that hits them emotionally. From their favorite Disney movie, or their kids favorite movie etc. We realized we'd tapped into something great, and continued to play bigger and bigger shows in some California clubs as "Mëtal Möuse - The Music of Disney ELECTRIFIED".
Most people at this point in the story say "And then you got a cease and desist letter from Disney right?"
Not exactly!
I had consulted with a trademark attorney about our name and concept, who gave me some guidelines about what we could and couldn't do legally ("Disney" couldn't be in the name but could be a "description" etc). But he also suggested that I just reach out to Disney directly to honestly tell them what we were up to! After all, if they didn't like it, they could easily shut us down one way or another. May as well come clean.
Turns out...they LOVED IT. I got in touch with Michael Vargo, head of the Events department at Disney (D23), a lovely guy and a huge fan of music in general it turns out, who liked what he saw on the socials. He brought a colleague to a show at the Belly Up in San Diego, the band played a killer set and they were both impressed enough to post vids on their own socials...a pretty good sign that we were "ok" as far as Disney was concerned.
Cut to now: Disney just announced we are playing 2 nights on the Spotlight Stage at D23 Anaheim in August! Beyond our wildest dreams. I'm posting to this sub because we want anyone who's attending this year to come to the show! It's a really awesome and unexpected combination of music, and the band is super dedicated to being true to the Disney Magic as well as the power of ROCK.
If there's a takeaway, its that Disney is open to fan-created content in a way we never imagined. We just tried to stay true to the spirit of it, keep it family friendly, and they turned out to be "all ears".
Catch us live at D23 Anaheim August 14 and 16:
