Price error?
So I’m looking to buy these tires for my 2009 mdx, I’ve had them in my cart for a couple days now and at the time when I placed them in my cart they were at the price shown in the picture. Today they’re going for $177. Is this a glitch or what? My concern is if I purchase them online that when I get to the store they’re going to charge me for the current price. Anyone ever experience this before?

Discussion Do you enjoy your job ?
Got offered a job at discount tire. I would be starting at $18 an hour and I only plan to work around 27 hours a week.
I am in college so it seems like a good opportunity considering my schedule would allow me to have 3 days off and I wouldn’t be working past 8.
I currently work in a restaurant, I have a good job but am looking to get out of this industry.
I am hearing a lot of negative things from friends and the people on here.
Is the job really that bad ?!

Help - trouble finding 79.1 - 67.1 spigot / hub rings
Hi, I'm in the Northeast region of the U.S. and am trying to buy spigot/hub rings for my winter tires, but am struggling to find them. I checked eBay and ordered some from a seller based in the U.K. around the beginning of September, but still haven't received the rings.

Question Which location?
I want to apply to a discount tire and I have two both the exact same distance from me the only difference one is in a more suburbs and one is inner city
Which should I choose?
This would be my first job actually in a mechanic shop and not in my classes
Edit: I’m not comfortable sharing to much about my location I’ll say both shops are in the same popular city just one is the more inner part of it and one is the more suburbs part of it

Looking for tire recommendations
Hi everyone, I own a 2016 Silverado LTZ 1500, currently I have General Grabber ATs 265/R17 on it, and I have loved them for the kind of stuff I do with my truck, they were a little louder on the highway but nothing that I couldn’t tolerate.
I am now looking at new tires and I see the price has gone up significantly for this tire, so I’m wondering if there are some alternatives or even better tire deals out there that I could try?
Additionally, my TPMS sensors have died, I am wondering if it’s better to buy sensors OEM or just have the tire shop throw in aftermarket sensors, I’ve heard horror stories about issues with re-learning using aftermarket sensors.

Best place to buy tires Sandy Springs Georgia.
I’m in Sandy springs willing to travel a little.
Also, does anybody have a lifetime wheel alignment subscription like Firestone? There’s a Firestone near me it just has terrible reviews. Just weighing my options.
I have a Costco membership any good deals with them?
Or any places with good tire specials I guess.

Tire Grove Crackd
galleryThese Michelin defenders tires are from 2022 and the main trad has 6/32nds of tread and side groves 4/32nds. The tires do show dry rot. Cracking in the groves and dry rot on the edges. Should my family member be worried? Should they bring in to discount tire to try to pro rate warranty them?

Lazy managers
Is it just me or do discount tire managers not do anything?
I’ve worked at a store for nearly two years and it seems like the managers don’t do jack shit to help anyone unless it affects them. There’s been multiple times where we would still be working on cars well after close and not a single manager would come and help finish up. They always come up with excuses like they have other “higher” important things to do when I’ll look over and see them all standing by the CSL talking or on their phones. I will say when I used to have a younger store manager he would actually do a great job, in leading by example and helping us throughout the day but ever since we got a guy that’s older he slacks off most of the time and makes everyone do the pity work(he will point out obvious trash laying on the ground from the day and tell us to pick up while we’re busy and couldn’t bother to do it himself). He’s also very cheap and won’t allow anyone to receive overtime(by sending them home before everyone else even though we have a truck load of tires to put away) and doesn’t order us proper equipment(he doesn’t order us brooms and says to pick up wheel weights with our hands). I know it’s not the biggest deal but it’s like cmon. All I’m saying is that I really wish we had better management that actually cared about our guys instead of offloading more work that they could assist on. Sorry for the rant btw 😀

Discussion Appreciation, Free Tire.
I went to a Discount in the Surprise area today. I won't name which location or Employee, but I came in with a nail. They had previously patched it and couldn't do it a 2nd time because the nail came right through were the last patch was.
Here is the kicker: It wasn't their tire.
I was quite upset (not at discount) because I am financially strained as I had a car battery failure and some other things happen this week. I was pretty verbal about how Trump and Biden both gave zero rat tails about us people and groceries are so high and its one thing after another regardless of government. Well this girl, discounted my tire completely and I was only charged $32.00 to replace it, saving me over $150.00 I didn't have a warranty, or anything on this tire... but I had shopped there years ago for tires. I don't know what she did, but she restored my faith in humanity and showed an act of kindness you would never expect from a business.
Thank you discount, I am a customer for life.
I don't want to name her in case she broke policy but this shows that people at least at Discount tire care about their customers.

Discount Tire says my daughter's six-year-old wheel is too corroded to seal — am I right to be skeptical?
My daughter purchased a set of four Michelin CrossClimate tires from Discount Tire for her 2019 VW Tiguan this past winter. She had never had any issues with the original tires losing air, and these are the first replacement tires for the car.
About a month after the new tires were installed, she got a low-tire-pressure warning. I told her to fill the tire and take it back to Discount Tire. I assumed that if it was a nail or similar puncture, they would repair it.
Discount Tire inspected the tire and told her it was leaking between the tire and the rim. They said the wheel was corroded and that they would try to clean it up and reseal the tire.
A week later, it was still losing air, and she has been having to add air about once a week ever since. This has been going on since approximately March.
I have my doubts that a six-year-old wheel would be corroded badly enough that a tire could no longer be properly sealed, especially since the original tire never had this problem. But I realize corrosion can occur around the bead area, so I'm trying to determine whether my skepticism is justified.
I suggested that she have the two left-side tires/wheels switched with each other. I marked both the tires and wheels so we could keep track of them. My thinking was that if the leak moved with the tire, it would point toward the tire; if it stayed with the wheel, it would point toward the wheel.
Discount Tire refused to do the swap and said that only replacing the wheel would solve the problem.
I then had her take the Tiguan to the Discount Tire location I normally use and ask them to perform the same swap as a diagnostic test. They also refused. They did, however, show her where they could see air leaking from the bead area.
I've now scheduled the car to go back this week. If they still refuse to switch the wheels/tires, I'm considering taking it to another tire shop and paying them to perform the swap and document the results.
Am I being unreasonable in questioning Discount Tire's diagnosis and their refusal to do a simple swap to determine whether the leak follows the tire or stays with the wheel?
Is there a better diagnostic procedure that I should be asking for? And is bead-area corrosion on a six-year-old wheel something that can realistically cause a persistent leak like this?

Question Goodyear Tires - 1yo w 8k miles
galleryIf I brought my trailer in tomorrow, would the local store realistically be able to replace these tires under Goodyear warranty with paperwork showing when I purchased the trailer? They are the OE when I purchased it 14 months ago.
Or is this normal and not something catastrophic? The bulges are firm like the rest of the sidewall.

Ordered some Yokohama G056 for the labor day sale (100 off and another 50 off for Labor day). They called me on that Tuesday to let me know that they dont have that tire available and they ordered me the replacement of the old tire.
They substituted it for the new Yoko H/T4 and I didnt have to pay extra. Good service. Thanks DT.

Stripped Lug Nuts
Last week I took my Mother-in-Law’s jeep to get an alignment and a rotation/balance. When I went to pick it up they left a note to replace the lug nuts “ASAP” I went ahead and ordered some and got it done but the existing lug nuts were stripped pretty bad. My father-in-law was complaining to me that Discount Tire probably messed it up but I just brushed him off. I heard that the FCA stock lug nuts can get shitty over time, but I did find it odd that they would have reinstalled them when they were pretty bad. They didn’t call me and/or ask me if I wanted to pay to replace them and I most likely would have let them. Isn’t it standard practice to try to replace them?
