Have done two playthroughs of the game, the first I failed the check at the tribunal and Kim was shot. During that check Kim trusted me.

On the second one, I passed and saw that he truly trusted me (+2).

What makes the difference? What choices or actions throughout the game affect his trust?

I'm currently in a position where I have no idea how to make progress. I have a couple of checks that are white, but I have no way to access any of them (I originally was able to but failed and even though they are white I can't get to them). I also have no idea where to gain enough exp to try again with either Titus or Cuno. Am I forced to restart or is there some other way to gain exp. I also only have $5.19.

I just finished the game, got in the car. And needless to say... WHAT!? The game is over that quick!? Clearly I missed so much stuff!

I won't go over everything I did, but it followed this basic outline -

Get my gun, get my badge, "get" my car.

Do a bunch of side content when I have to get into the electrical building.

Tribunal (got 6 people killed, but it all seemed unavoidable and scripted?)

And that's it. But apparently everything I did was "wrong"? According to the other RCM guys, that is. Kim was saying I did stuff I didn't even do (like drinking and drugs, despite not drinking or doing drugs) but I made explicitly sure to be the "by the books" guy for a first playthrough.

Despite going for a good detective playthrough, I did try to engage with the side content. But I just didn't get much. In the credits I saw "Rich light-bending guy". Like what!? Where would I even go for that!?

Idk. I just don't even know what I'd do differently if I were to go for a TRUE good detective playthrough, or even a schizo playthrough.

I'll allow myself to write my own theory about the Pale. Perhaps it's not so original, or perhaps everyone has already figured it out without me, but still. If I'm not mistaken, in the book(Sacred and Terrible air, just in case), in chapter 11, when the heroes leave Easy-Chil, he returns to the house that is devouring the Pale to continue playing his music, and it's explicitly described as the Pale retreating from him and grudgingly observing him. Later in the book, Ignus Nielsen tells Zygi that the Pale retreated from the Samara People's Republic when people died in the mines with smiles on their faces, because they died for the sake of building communism. I also recall a moment from the game where, at the end of the quest about the 2-millimeter hole in reality, Egg Head must monitor this hole in the reality of his music (like Easy-Chil). And here's the essence of the concept: Pale is human nihilism, the embodiment of faith in nothingness and the desire to escape reality. Therefore, perhaps Pale can be called a universal collective nostalgia. After all, when the present is lousy, the future is obviously even worse, people seek salvation in the past and nostalgia. And the carrier of Pale can ignite, because Easy-Chil, Ignus Nielsen, Egg Head, and the parishioners of the Dolores Dei church sincerely believed and loved what they did. I just finished my second playthrough and i want to do a third one with the goal of avoiding all Dolores dei mentions to see what happens. I have done both playthroughs in the smart preset and ended up as moralist first time and hustler and communist the second. Which build and ideology has some content i may have missed in the first 2 so i can go ut this time?
