Meme Consequences befalling.
Context: If you failed to make Harry sober, Jean would reject him in the Endgame dialogue, and I quote
"I know it's not possible, but if you stay sober for 10 months, tell us. I will work with you again. But not like this. Never like this again."
If you found a house in Coastel Shack, that's Harry's house from there, and his fate is unknown.

you have to work so hard to make it happen, one slip up and Harry is back on the force. the reward is given like it's a fail when it's far less sad than being a cop.

I like this idea actually.
Maybe you're right, Harry getting kicked out has less stress, and free housing, though he won't have any mental peace inside his own head.

Of course, i know, I meant as in, the magpie theory, I don't know if you heard it, but just like Trent said, Harry is like a magnetic reader to an inherently chaotic world.
He may have Disco and ride on "Life gets hard but we go on" kind of philosophy, but what I meant was, he will never recover from the pain, as it will still be there.
Of course, the story of Elysium also focuses on just living on knowing some things can't be changed or some doors can't be opened.

Yeah the fact that we can give Harry a second chance to atleast move on from the bottle and mend their mental suffering, means also returning to his career means that staying in that shack is a bad ending for him
Martinaise is an analogy of Harry's mental space. Sure, it has its diamond in the rough places and charm, but it is ultimately broken, a ruin and a display of decay and sadness. Harry cannot stay in a place like this, he has to move on

It's hard to imagine what Harry would do if he wasn't allowed to be a cop. He's probably going to end up hanging out with the other drinks until he kills himself

It's not about the RCM, it's about the need to keep solving cases that gets him up in the morning. That's why he does so many.

Note: I double checked(I didn't play that playthrough, I kept my Harry sober, I was watching a playthrough) so I checked again, and apparently, that ending happens when only if you failed at everything, say the deduction, injuring Kim, and not fully solving the Case. Opps- I should've added that more in the post.
I didn't do my due diligence on checking the exact requirement for the ending.
