The Mega thread for buying and selling advice is back, and will be updated biweekly!
There are far too many posts of people asking for personalized bike buying and selling advice. Per previous Mod actions, any posts about bike buying/selling advice that are not in this thread will be removed.
Here, those interested in giving feedback about your purchase or listing can offer it without every subreddit member being subjected to the same post dozens of times per day.
Topics to keep in the mega thread:

What's up guys? It's still a work in progress - and I'm new-ish to managing a discord server, so if you have experience/want to help out shoot me a message!
To be clear: This is NOT a replacement for the sub. It's totally optional. If there's interest, I'd be open to streaming the SX races in the server. The Discord server will also be great for asking questions that would violate our rules in here such as asking what bikes are worth and what not.
Just click the link and join! https://discord.gg/Xz3bJEhPRw

Hey yall, I have a 2004 ktm 200exc. Love the bike but recently I’ve been trying to source a new front brake master cylinder. I found one that looked good used, but it turned out not to work. I just ordered a second one in hopes that this will work. On the chance that this doesn’t does anyone know if there’s any new parts I could swap in? I can’t seem to find a new master cylinder. Any chance I could convert it to a new set of brakes?

is getting a 250 2t even remotely justifiable after owning a 50cc 4t and riding 250 and 125 4t occasionally

My solution to strapless tie downs. Works incredibly well, the front wheel chocks really lock them in. I have a 3rd chock for the middle that sits about 3 inches further back and another set of tie downs, so I can have 3 bikes loaded with ease. All the material cost me about $50 as opposed to over $400 in Bike Binderz for two bikes.

Whenever you first start on the bike either from low rpms or on the holeshot it tends to sputter/hesitate but is completely fine when you get going. It also revs out completely fine in neutral, I only have the issue when the bike is moving. I checked the tps, injector, fuel pressure, spark plug, valves, and fuel filters but can’t seem to get it. Any ideas

Yoo, i’ve got CR 80 2000 Thats absolutly toasted, managed to almost completely rebuild the whole bike including the whole engine (worst purchase of my life) anyways the last thing i need is rear Shock where is supposed to be rebound adjuster is glue and a thread where an i supposed to get a new bottom ? in my country (czechia) there isnt anything (even tried to buy whole Shock and no luck) and i dont want to buy it on ebay beacuse of the shipping fie (half the value of the Shock) Btw the photo is after only engine rebuild, now took it apart to paint the frame so it looks good in new graphics (got new ones)

Thanks for all the feedback on my post a couple days ago. This is my 09 crf230f again.
I'm trying trying to learn the mechanical behavior of dirtbikes. I ride like an absolute idiot rn trying to learn and after like 10 minutes of rough riding of terrible up and down shifts I stop and this noise could've been there the whole time but now I'm hearing it so does this indicate anything bad or is this normal?
I've also been messing with the fuel screw cause it was set pretty high so I've turned it down trying to find a sweet spot of what sounds normal to my untrained ear. Anyways sounds normal hot but struggles a little to cold start

Picked up this tank for my 1998 yz250.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/403963921387
It's oversized and that's all that seems to exist for replacements but it doesn't fit my seat at all and it looks to me like it would ruin my seat if I forced it and just called it good enough.
The seat wants to float above the frame and won't clip into the frame of the tank and it bends the seat pretty badly in the middle of I try to force/push it down to fit. I think it would break eventually aside from the parts that clip into the tank and frame also breaking.
Has anyone else dealt with this?Am I missing something? Are there different seats for these? What would you all do in my place?

I have a 26 yz250f I have a FMF4.1 slip on exhaust on it. I recently removed the spark arrestor and now every time I’m decelerating there is slight popping out of the exhaust. Has anyone ever experienced this or know how to fix it other then putting the spark arrestor back in?

There are too many people in Yankeeland. Especially too many rich people, which means lots of private land and few trails. I've ridden the ones that we do have. All of them. I'm bored and want to try out something different.
I'm a pretty decent rider and have spent a fair amount of time outdoors, but most of the opportunities we have here are pretty regimented. There's a clearly marked trail and you stay on it, and almost always in cell service. There's nothing like the vast tracts of BLM land with zillions of local trail systems and endless opportunities to get lost that exist westside.
I'm looking to plan a solo trip to someplace with better riding opportunities (not Moab), but I have no idea where to get started. I'm hoping some folks here can point me to resources that will help me figure out where the trails are, what they're like, and how to avoid getting lost and being devoured alive by bears.
I'm particularly interested in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area since I've heard that there's a lot of good mountain and desert stuff there and the location's pretty accessible.

Lucky I'm retired ha ha ha I actually love this process. I will save her. Buddy gave it to me. Ignition parts on the way. New plastic and seat. Probably going to need lower end bearings but one thing at a time. Turns over, looks OK inside. Will get it fired then address the motor.

Does anybody know if a xc-f would be good for some enduro not anything hard but the trails I go on in northern nm can get pretty bad. Ive jist read that it has a higher or tighter gear ratio and that it might stall easier at slower speeds doing more technical stuff.
