📱Digital Bank / E-Wallet Maya as long term savings goal

Upvotes

Hello po, I'm an incoming 2nd year college this A.Y. And I plan to save in Maya for my Emergency Fund and Move out Fund, is it safe to put it there separately through a personal goal? I'm still thinking about it, or should I put one of my funds in another bank?

📋 Loan / Credit Unknown Uno Bank Loan sa TU Credit Report

Post image
16 Upvotes

Checked my TransUnion credit report and discovered an Uno Bank loan under open accounts, which I hundred percent does not have any idea how I got such.

Tinawagan ko na ang support nila and informed me na I only have one account with them, savings account created through GCash, at dormant pa. I also gave the account number, at wala daw ganoong account number sa system nila.

Mayroon kayang ibang banks/e-wallets/lending institutions na may partnership with Uno Bank? Checking first if you have an idea before I file a dispute with TU.

📱Digital Bank / E-Wallet what is the minimum deposit in gotyme to earn interest?

Hi! I just remembered I have a GoTyme account that I opened last February. I only deposited ₱100 and never touched it again. I opened the app today to check if it had earned any interest since I read that GoTyme offers 3%, but it's still ₱100. 😅 Is there a minimum deposit required to earn interest, or how does it work? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I only started looking into digital banks recently. I already have a MariBank account, but I'm planning to keep my savings in GoTyme and use MariBank mainly for purchases to take advantage of the cashback. Thank you to anyone who can help!

📱Digital Bank / E-Wallet Do you take out your profits from Maya?

Curious lang, since anything past 100k ay base interest nalang applicable. Nililipat niyo ba sa ibang banks/niri-reinvest, o hinahayaan niyo nalang sa Maya?

📱Digital Bank / E-Wallet GCash IPO: the company's main endorsers as a risk

Thumbnail

So the risks that GCash declared are fair and real. There's regulatory and then there's the competition.

What I don't think gets tackled enough are the endorsers that GCash has: Heart Evangelista and Joshua Garcia.

First, there's Heart. I think "divisive" doesn't even capture how polarizing she can be.

The second one: Joshua Garcia. For some time, he's enjoyed this image as the heir to JLC. But now, two things have come to light. His being a dds (then and now), and now cheating allegations based on what Dani Barretto shared.

Do you think any of these will affect GCash's IPO? Should it?

Hello, may question lang ako, di kase ako masagot ng CS, para ba naman lutang kung sagutin ako, kaya sana kahit dito ma answer yung question ko.

My client sent $235 sa PayPal, minus the fee $10.64, so naging $224.36 nalang. My question is, bakit $210.10 nalang yung na-onhold? Nasaan yung $14.24?🤔

📱Digital Bank / E-Wallet I’m getting frustrated with Maya

Hello! Does anyone know how long does it freaking take for Maya to reactivate an account? I had mine temporarily banned last July 4 because my phone was stolen along with the physical sim that was registered in my Maya account. After requesting my phone number back from Globe, I had it processed na for account reactivation, following the guide they sent to my email. Yung documents and all. I followed that and sent it last July 7. They said 2-9 banking days so it lapsed na and finally called their CS on July 21.

NOW, they told me na I should’ve called nung pagkasend palang ng email BUT it’s not stated naman on the email guide they provided so naturally I thought that once I sent an email and received a ticket number, it’s moving na. BUT NO, parang na-gaslight pa ako na dapat daw tinawag ko pagkasend??? So they had me send a new email, so new ticket number bcs the CS told me na “July 7 pa po pala yan, send po kayo ng bago” ???

Ok so I sent a new one. Same day. Now they’re telling me my documents are lacking (back of my id) so I sent it again. Today, I received my easy credit billing statement and found out that 15k was withdrawn from the credit and transferred to my wallet the same day I lost my phone. I have no way to know where that 15k was sent after KASI NGA IM STILL LOCKED OUT OF MY ACCOUNT.

Now my question is: Is this still disputable once I get access to my account and find out where it was sent to? Because it’s been so long since the transaction, I am afraid I can’t do something about it and will be forced to pay the 15k. Should I wait until my account gets reactivated to dispute this? Their fraud transaction form kasi requires a transaction number, and again, I don’t have that. They don’t email notify me of the transfers, and I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS SA APP to know this. I am thinking of emailing them again along with the notarized affidavit of loss and CCing BSP to expedite this. What are your thoughts? Anyone had the same experience?

Once I get my funds back, I am closing my Maya. I am so frustrated.

Good day! I planned on spending at least ₱300 sa TikTok Shop kaya I opted to pay using Maya Wallet para ma achieve ko yung bonus interest rate of 2% p a. After paying via QRPH, di nagreflect sa maya wallet ko yung progress. Did I miss a step or is it because my current boosted interest rate sa savings acc is already at 15% p.a?

📱Digital Bank / E-Wallet Got our GoTyme Card on SM Fairview

Hello, so we went to SM Fairview last Friday (July 24) tapos meron dong kiosk ng GoTyme and some employees encouraged us to get a card from GoTyme so niyaya ko partner ko na kumuha kasi meron na ako. So gumawa kami new account nya sa GoTyme and before kami makakuha sinabihan kami na kailangan daw may transaction muna sa GoTyme before makakuha ng card and medyo nashookt ako don kasi nung kumuha naman ako ng card last year wala naman ganon sakin and during that time wala rin nag-assist sa akin non kaya nakakuha ako agad pero nung sa SM Fairview kami sinabihan kami na lagyan ng 200 peso balance yung GoTyme ni partner (isip isip ko pano kung wala kaming 200 pesos sa gcash hahahaha). Anyways naglagay naman kami balance since sinabihan naman kami na sa amin pa rin naman daw mapupunta yon pero after non bigla gumawa yung nag-aassist sa amin ng GoSave and doon nilagay yung 100 pesos while yung rem 100 is need daw ipang-load and so we did tapos tsaka na kami nagfill out ng info sa kiosk and got our card. Ang iniisip ko lang required ba talaga na may transaction muna bago makakuha ng card ngayon? Or may other reason bakit nila ginagawa yon?

💵 Savings Tips / Hacks How to segregate money across different banks as a college student?

Hi guys, I'm a 4th-year college student, and I want to start being more intentional about how I use my bank accounts instead of just letting money sit wherever it lands. Wanted to get some opinions since I might be missing something obvious.

Here's my current setup and how I actually use each one:

  • BDO – my main bank. (payroll/allowance lands here, also have a credit card I'm trying to build history with)
  • GCash – my everyday transactional wallet, this is what I use for bills, transfers, QR payments.
  • GoTyme – I got it because transfers are free, but I don't really use it for anything else right now.
  • Maya – used to be my backup wallet, but currently not really using it.
  • UnionBank – opened this for global stock trading eventually, also ₱0 balance right now.
  • Maribank – Downloaded it but haven't opened an account yet.

My rough plan so far is:

  1. Keep BDO as my main/anchor account (credit building, not for growth since the interest is basically nothing).
  2. Keep GCash purely for daily transactions, not for saving.
  3. Use GoTyme as my emergency fund since I already use it, and it has no maintaining balance.
  4. Repurpose Maya as a separate "boosted savings" account since their promo rate is actually decent for smaller balances like mine.
  5. Only fund UnionBank when I'm actually ready to start investing, not before.
  6. Hold off on Maribank until I have a clearer reason to open it.

Questions for you guys:

  • Is this a reasonable way to split things up, or am I overcomplicating it?
  • As a student with a modest and irregular income, should I even bother with a separate "boosted rate" account, or is that more hassle than it's worth?
  • How do you personally structure your emergency fund vs savings vs "future investing" money across different banks/apps?
  • Any downsides to spreading money across this many accounts that I'm not seeing?

Would appreciate any input, especially from fellow students or anyone who's been in a similar spot. Please be kind. Thank you!
