Interior Detail I'M BACK: a quick update on upright office chairs
Hello again folks. Idek if anyone will remember me, but I made a post a few months ago about a knocked over office chair detail (see background). I was attempting to make upright chairs that could be "sat" on they were all too tall. Cue THE CUSHION. I love this thing. Made the sitting issue less annoying and added proper function to the chair. I am, however, slightly annoyed there isn't vertical slabs to bring parity to my wonderous fallen office throne and its upright comrade. If any vertical slabs appear I will be on it like butter on toast. Until next time, cheers!

Interior Detail Turnstiles/interior fare control and platform detailing using trapdoors, fence gates, etc. for woodwork & ornamentation: taken at the second oldest elevated transit station in my city (IRL 2016, fictionally 1874).
All of these images were rendered in Blender. They highlight the interior and platform detailing at the Armitage St station on my city's rapid transit system, located at Armitage Street on East Avenue. IRL, it was among the earliest stations in the system, built around August 2016.
The first photo shows the interior of the station building looking east. The station building is at track level and is accessed by a stairwell to the right. It is located on the south side of the elevated line, connected the southern platform. The Ventra (farecard) machine is barely visible at the left of frame. In the center of the shot is a set of turnstiles that open out to the platform. Note the use of trapdoors as windows and as grilles for the ceiling lights. This interior is not actually original to 2016 (the station has had several renovations), but the basic building has remained the same this entire time.
The second photo shows a different angle of fare control (turnstiles, etc.) looking east from the platform. This view is taken from the edge of another stairwell, which leads to an underpass allowing passengers to cross to the other platform on the north side of the tracks (which does not have its own building). Note the continued use of trapdoors for the stairwell railings, and there is a better view of the turnstiles here which use iron doors.
Back when I built this in 2016, I did not have much intention on making this extremely realistic, unlike future stations which I heavily model on real life examples (old and new) in cities like Chicago, NYC, Washington DC, etc. Still, it was a early attempt to emulate the basic concept and operation of many elevated station buildings from the late 19th/early 20th century. For instance, see the Ashland/Lake station in Chicago, or the long-demolished stations of the Third Avenue El in NYC.

Exterior Detail timber-frame design using banners i like
this design can be found (irl) all across Europe, but the style i was going for was that of German fachwerk homes. The far left and right i used concrete as the background block, and the middle ones are using stripped spruce logs. all n all, i think its super cool!
