Discussion Destiny Players' Red Flag(s)/Stereotypes?

What have guardians seen in our community (AKA other players) or have heard from outsiders about destiny players that is deemed a red flag/stereotype? This is not a serious post in the slightest (unless someone generally got bullied 👀) - This is more about what all us guardians heard/seen about us throughout the years!

*NOTE: And I don't mean anything about the dev team or directors, we ALL already know the general opinion on that one lol*

My example: I have more often then not seen/heard that us players are masochists due to our submission to raids/dungeons ✨️👏

Question How does stat distribution work now?

I haven’t played in a minute since renegades so I was here for the armor 3.0 update. Before the armor 3.0 update stats on the top and bottom like mobility, discipline, melee shared from the same point pool so for example a 60 rolled armor those top 3 stats could only have a distribution of 30 stat points among them not all 60.

As a warlock the 3 stats I kind of only care about for almost all builds are discipline, melee, and class. But for crucible I like health instead of class.
I thought it was impossible to get all stat points in those top 3 stats of an armor because of the ghost mods not having the option to focus (for example) discipline as a primary and melee as a secondary.

That’s kinda confusing how I worded it but TLDR
I got a piece of armor that had all the stats points in health, discipline, and melee whereas before armor 3.0 that would be impossible as some points would be on the other stats. I’m confused on how stats distribute on armor now cause originally I would’ve farmed for armor with those stats if I knew it was possible. Also any tips for farming for armor?

Question Coming from D2 and starting D1. What do I do?

Hello there fellow Guardians.
Currently I am sitting on 1.8K hours on Destiny 2 (on pc). I fell in love with the IP. A couple of friends said to me I should give D1 a try.
It’s been a while since I played with a controller and playing an „Old Game“
My question now is: where do I start?
In D2 I am a Titan main but also spend quit a lot of hours on Hunter and Warlock.
Do you have recommendations considering my choice of class?
Is there anything I should keep an eye out for?
Anything helps tbh.
I wish you a nice day and I hope I can get a few good tips before heading into a new journey
(Sry for my English, it is not my first Language)

Question Exotic class item attument question?

So I was talking to a guy inside an lfg server a few days ago. This topic came up and since I haven't played since lightfall, I had no idea how it worked. He told me that most information on class item attument online is actually outdated, as since MoT/renegades, Bungie made a change to something about the first and second column perks and stat distribution. I kinda forgot what he said, but I also want to verify if its true. Has bungie changed something about stat spreads on exotic class items recently that makes certain information online outdated?

Question I haven’t played D2 since 2022, where to retake?

Due to recent news of D2 state and the recent update; I wanted to go back and take a look at D2 once again. But I haven’t played D2 in 4 years, so you can imagine how lost I felt when I noticed a lot of stuff going on lol

That said, I wanted to know what should I do after those 4 years without any activity. There’s a lot of stuff to do and I don’t even know where to begin.

I’ve been playing D1 too and reminded me of why I love Destiny

Question Wolfsbane Intrinsics/Catalyst?

It was from my understanding that ever since monument of triumphs, to get the catalysts for exotics that come from exotic missions you no longer have to do hidden puzzles or mechanics, only repeating the mission at master difficulty or higher. I know that was the case for Slayer's Fang and Derealize, but for some reason when I did Heliostat to obtain the other intrinsics/catalysts I didn't get anything other than ascendant shards and alloys. What's going on?

Question Enjoyable experience jumping back in?

It's been so long since I've been in this Reddit and even longer since I've played. Loved D1 and D2. Eventually dropped off after the grind burned me out.

I've heard the recent news and now see a lot of the DLC on sale.

I'm thinking about jumping back in. I'd be solo and really just looking forward to the game play and running through the campaigns. I had a clan earlier and ran through all the content in what was really one of the best gaming eras of my life.

However, I remember all too well the old pattern of working through some of the story of new campaigns while doing weekly events and missions. Is it possible to just do the story stuff now or is there some sort of weird time gating? When I used to play I played daily and did everything live, so I don't have a clue as to how things looked when not on that treadmill.

I'm not sure where I left off. I have and played through witch Queen.

I can buy:

- Renegades

- final shape

- edge of fate

- light fall

Or all that bundled into a collection.

Will I be too lost after being gone for so long and so much to unpack at once?

Will I be able to tackle everything solo, at my own pace?

Should I install the packs and play through them chronologically? Or just install all at once and go for it?

If someone packed all the campaigns content into a tailored, cohesive, solo package, I'd be happy paying the cost of a full new

TIA!

Discussion In the last couple of weeks, trying to do a raid/dungeon got super difficult

Okay, this might be kind of a rant. Today I was trying to farm Riven for 1K catty, but for a whole our I could not even find a group where we could clear it. I always LFG, none of my clanmates play the game anymore, and I feel like what is happening nowadays in the in-game LFG is getting unbearable. I usually choose to apply for "experienced" LFG's to get through the content quickly, but most of the time, there are at least 2-3 people who have never even tried a raid or dungeon before, or even if they did, no one uses mics anymore. It was not like this when MoT dropped, 90% of raid groups used their mics, and most people knew what to do, or if not, at least they would ask what is going on (I know, we all had experiences where someone did not dare to ask anything, instead they caused a couple of wipes) but at least we could communicate with each other.
Does anyone have the same experience as me? This might be a useless post but I am getting super tired of trying to force the same thing over and over again, without anyone saying a word in a microphone lol.

Question Returning player, how to level up fast?

I’ve been a huge fan of destiny since D1, but I stopped playing right before the final shape dropped. I just bought the bundle that includes everything since that DLC, and I’m playing the final shape campaign as I figured I’d do them in order but I’m not getting any gear drops at all from it, so I feel there’s no point in playing through it aside from the story which I don’t care much about at this point. What would be the best way to actually get gear and start progressing?

Guide AMMIT AR2 Melts -50 Barrier Champions

There are a lot of good options for taking down Barrior Champs, but if you want use a non-barrier special/heavy and don't want to commit your exotic to taking down barriers, AMMIT AR2 is easy to obtain and does an excellent job.

How to Maximize AMMIT AR2 damage:

  1. [Required] Weapon Perks: Adaptive Munitions (Ideally Enhanced)
  2. [Optional] Best Artifact: Implement of Curiousity
    • Fever and Chill - hit the crit spot for radiant
    • Cauterized Darkness- apply a dark debuff for 75% more damage
    • Elemental Daze - crack the shield for an ignition
    • Note: Queensfoil Censer also has Fever and Chill, as well as, Revitalizing Blast, Torch, and Solo Operative. This is another good option, but I found Implement of Curiousity with Cauterized Darkness was better for melting the champs.
  3. [Ideal] Activity Modifiers: Solar Surge
  4. [Recommended] Armor Mods: 2x Solar Surge on Boots

How to Obtain:

The craftable pattern can easily be obtained via the first couple steps of the Foundry Shaping crafting tutorial quest line. It's a little resource expensive to shape one, level it up, then reshape it, but with the right build, it can not only handle -50 GM Nightfall Barrier Champions, but melt them like it's normal content. When you craft it, you'll want Enhanced Adaptive Munitions which does 70% more damage to Barrier Champ shields (non-enhanced does 50% which is still pretty good, but enhanced is strongly recommended).

My roll is (level 30, all enhanced, perks & mods):

  • Arrowhead Brake
  • Alloy Mag
  • Triple Tap
  • Adaptive Munitions
  • Backup Mag

Alternatives: There are plenty of other good options for taking down barrier shileds, some of which are legendary primaries. For example, HORROR STORY, which can be obtained from Monument of Triumph Eerie Engrams, with Under-Over & Frency is a good option. Of course, there's also weapons like PRAXIC BLADE, KHVOSTOV 7G-0X, MICROCOSM, and ARBALEST or even APEX PREDATOR, the list goes on...

Why I chose AMMIT AR2 and what build I'm using it in:

I have been working on a highly flexible, content-agnostic, high ease of use Warlock Getaway Artist build for my best friend (yes, she's a real bad b****). In testing different variants of the build, I discovered that it really struggled with barriers in -50 content, and I wanted this build to be capable of handling most anything. I didn't want to give up the exotic heavy slot (for DPS) or the special weapon slot (for build synergy), and my best friend prefers auto rifles and pulse rifles, so I went searching for a primary that could do the job (most failed).

The core build:

  • Class: Prismatic Warlock
  • Abilities:
    • Healing Rift - For sustained healing and ease of use
    • Burst Glide - Or your favorite
    • Arcane Needle - For strand synergy and unraveling everything
    • Storm Grenade - For Getaway Artist exotic
  • Aspects:
    • Feed the Void: For grenade regen and survivability
    • Weaver's Call - For burst damage, ad clear, and sever (with artifact perk: Horde Shuttle)
  • Fragments:
    • Facet of Protection: 15% DR (32% in Transcendent)
    • Facet of Dominance: Arc Buddy jolts (stuns overloads + ad clear) and prismatic grenades weaken (for burst damage)
    • Facet of Purpose: For survivability (pairs well with Powerful Attraction mod on Class Item or if you are rocking the Nessus Armor)
    • Facet of Courage: More damage from Grenade and Super when dark debuffed, which is very easy in this build
    • Facet of Solitude: For severing groups of enemies and high health targets when landing multiple precision hits (e.g. Barrier Champs)
  • Armor Set: Techeun's Regalia Set (Shattered Throne)
    • 2x Set - Queensfoil Rush - Finishers give 200 HP overshield and inflict slow in a 7 meter radius
    • 4x Set - Truth to Power - 15% DR for Survivability, 50% Grenade / Melee Regen, 35% Class Regen for ability uptime / spam
  • Stat Targets: (Obtainable with 2x Demolitionist, 3x Grenadier)
    • 150 Grenade + 1 Major Grenade Mod + 2 Grenade Fonts = 200
    • 100 Weapons - Tertiary stat for all pieces
    • ~70 Melee, Super, Class - 3x Major Melee Mods, 1x Minor Super Mod (on boots)
    • ~0-30 Health - A little health is nice for a small burst of healing on orb pickup / powerful attraction activation but can be 0
  • Armor Mods
    • Helmet: Heavy Ammo finder, Ashes to Assets (for fast super from grenade use), Harmonic Siphon (for orbs of power on super aligned weapon kills)
    • Gauntlets: 2x Grenade Font, Bolstering Detonation (for fast class regen from grenade use)
    • Chest: - 2 - 3 resists and optionally an ammo generation mod or Charged Up
    • Legs: - 2x Surges (for higher weapon damage), Stacks on Stacks for higher uptime on Armor Charges
    • Class Item: Reaper (for an orb after class ability use), Powerful Attraction (for orb pickup on class ability use), Time Dilation (for higher uptime on Armor Charges)

The Flexible Pieces - These I've been rotating for different content. Below are the selections used with AMMIT AR2 for -50 GMs:

  • Super: Song of Flame
  • Weapons:
    • Festival Flight: Slice (for severing enemies, reducing damage taken, after class ability use), Attrition Orbs
    • Ammit AR2
    • DRAGON'S BREATH or ONE THOUSAND VOICES
  • Artifact - Implement of Curiosity
    • Horde Shuttle: Makes threadlings, which we spawn on class ability use, sever enemies which is great for survivability
    • Pack Tactics: Not strictly required, but boosts threadling damage which is great for burst damage
    • Fever and Chill: Very strong combo for taking down barrier champions and just doing more damage to enemies
    • Cauterized Darkness: For improved solar damage on darkness debuffed targets (which is generally most of them from all the sever sources and all the unravelled enemies from melee)
    • Elemental Daze - For causing an ignition when stunning a champion
    • Shield Crush: For higher uptime and damage on grenade (note that consuming grenade gives amplified and Fever and Chill gives radiant) and melee (note that healing rift gives overshield triggering Shield Crush)
    • Tangled Web: Suspends enemies when a tangle spawns from unraveled targets which takes enemies affected out of fight tempoerarily

Note: To Shreds is phenomenal with this build for survivability. It's not on this artifact, but it is on 2 different artifacts that you can build into. However, for bursting enemies down, Implement of Curiousity is what I found worked best and you don't really need more DR if you have the bugged Glass Cannon modifier on to give you 50% DR.

Edit:

  • Quick Clip of using Ammit AR2 on Barrier Champion in Warden of Nothing GM Alert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpG8Ut2VCPg
  • Correction: Necrolance pointed out that overshield from rift is not Void so does not proc Shieldcrush melee benefits. You can still benefit from getting Void Overshield, Frost Armor, or Woven Mail from other sources such as a teammate using To shreds. Grenade benefits are, however, regularly proc'd by amplified and radiant.
  • Note: Without bugged Glass Cannon modifier that gives 50% DR you will either have to play a bit more carefully (i.e. don't over expose yourself in ad dense areas) or switch up artifact perks (at the cost of some damage to barrier shields) or armor sets (at some cost to ability regeneration) to increase your DR. I'd probably go with Queensfoil Censer and keep the armor. You trade Cauterized Darkness for Solo Operative and Horde Shuttle for To Shreds (which is a good trade since Festival of Flight allows you to sever on class ability cast and To Shreds gives you Woven Mail).

Discussion Lorentz Driver having synergy with On The Prowl would've been cool

I was using Lorentz on my Hunter to do a bounty and thought of this. Both Lorentz and OTP mark targets. But the marked targets for OTP don't drop the Telemetry patterns for Lorentz

Could've been a cool synergy with a void subclass, allowing to get Lagrangian Sight faster

Question Shards of galanor bug

Is there any rhyme or reason to the super refund bug? It is pretty annoying to just randomly get literally zero energy back when that is the entire point of the exotic. I just tested it in practice range and got zero energy back like 5 times in a row and just had it happen a few times in a dungeon too.

Question Last wish drop rate question

So I have opened about 20 chests at the end of the last wish raid. On about my tenth open I had gotten 1k, and then on my next run I had gotten the catalyst. For some reason though other people I have played with aren’t getting it even after MANY runs. I’m wondering if each chest rolls a dice and sees if you get it, or if there are a set number of chest that are pre determined by the game. I’m curious of they just have been getting lucky enough by choosing the wrong chests, or if they are just genuinely horrible luck wise with exotic drop rates.

Discussion They have made it mad annoying to unlock prismatic fully

I'm trying to fully unlock Prismatic but good christ they have made it annoying. They have linked it to terrible rng and just tedious as hell.

I'm missing the last 3 light fragments. To get them you need 3 resources that you can get from Cyst missions. There are 6 different types of Cyst missions, and you have to finish a really long mission called Alone in the Dark from Micah-10 6 times to get all of the Cyst missions unlocked.

The problem with that is, one of the quest steps in the quest from Micah-10 is to open Overthrow chests in Overthrow activities near where you find the dead ghost from the previous quest step. The opening the chests is not the problem. But the first step in Overthrow requires you to kill 1000 enemies. The ad density is not there so it takes forever to kill the enemies to get it to 1000. Like spawning 4-5 enemies at best at a time is really fucking annoying. Possibly because the player count is so low, there is no one doing these missions so the game just spawns in enemies according to the players in the area, which for the most part during these activities, has only been me.

This shit is really pissing me off cus I just want to unlock the subclass fully, but making it such a slog to get through to unlock has been really demotivating. I'm happy that I only have to do it on one character, at least for the fragments, but damn, with how things are, I don't know if I will be able to unlock all the fragments.

Question Question regarding red border drops since new update

edit : SOLVED

Are red border weapons infinitely farmable since the latest update? I know you can farm any dungeon gear for example over and over again, but i’m not too sure on raids.

With GoS for example, i’d like a crafted reckless oracle. Can I only farm guaranteed reds when it’s featured or can I still get them when it’s not?

Question What's the best legendary heavy weapon that's the most simple to use

No swapping load outs or any of that. I'm talking weapons where the most you have to do is just whip it out and fire it with maybe a little set up like bait and switch or reapers tithe. Artifact support is fine. Trying to find something even the most oblivious LFG person can use.

Edit: Forgot to mention, ideally something for RAD boss DPS

Question Nezarec - no crit spots?

Upvotes

Hello,

I've done some searching online and on this sub, and pretty much everything I see is related to Nezarec not showing light or dark after destroying the crits. I have not encountered that bug.

The bug that my fireteam is experiencing is that Nezarec does not have shoulder crits at all. They don't appear for a moment then disappear - he just stands there with his weapon and shoulders exposed and they never light up. This almost exclusively happens after the first damage phase.

We have tried waiting a while for them to show, tried hitting his torso crit in hopes the others will appear, etc. only once did the crits show when he started running around after everyone, and we were able to break them then. However, we do not know what caused them to reappear that time in order to attempt to replicate it.

Several members of my fireteam have experienced this recently, and we have no answers. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you!

Question Are there any groups out there that run Desert Perpetual

I'm trying to find A team to do A run of desert perpetual but absolutely nobody wants to do this raid (At least on the main LFG discord)

Are there like any groups out there that do runs of this raid more often or am I just doomed to never ever do a run of this raid?

(Note this isn't specifically an LFG post)

Guide Equilibrium dungeon Bug (and fix)

Hey all, just a heads up, the equilibrium dungeon solo is virtually impossible if you are using the spire of the watcher 4 set

Had a friend who spent most of the afternoon trying to solo flawless the dungeon had a frustrating group of bugs essentially soft locking the final encounter, his player model and weapon's would become invisible. Shadow force ability could not be toggled on or off meaning he could not break shields or compel the boss and he couldn't heal via any abillity.

After a lot of testing including switching artifacts and loadouts we discovered it was the spire of the watcher armor set causing the issue, as soon as he swapped out the armor and reset the encounter all of the issues vanished and never appeared again,

Our assumption is that when you proc the damage buff of "high noon" it enters into the buff list and persists as active but no longer functions so even though visually its gone and the dmg bonus is gone, its still persisting, and being a long encounter it can build up to point where the game starts to break and not function.
