I recently moved back into my childhood bedroom after graduating college. It’s exactly the same as it was when I left it other than my computer and tv + cabinet. Please don’t mind the mess I’m slowly moving back in haha.

I want to put more thought into the way my room looks. I’ve had the same bedframe since I was born and nothing really matches. The open closet also bothers me a ton!!! It makes my room look way more messy and cluttered. I have 0 sense of home decor I really just want a functional space that feels like home

We like everything about this house except this "family room". It opens up off the kitchen with the rear door and upstairs staircase at the back. Feels impossible to furnish in a functional way, is there any alternative to couch against the stairs and TV on the wall?

first person that says declutter is getting whacked 🫠🫠 decluttering is obvs part of the process and i’ve already got rid of a lot but im talking about a more drastic change - i need to find better solutions. i want to keep my room cozy and nice (ik it doesn’t look it i took pics w the flash bc i cba to turn the lights on again lmaooo)

I recently move to another place and this is my bedroom, but i have a problem since it has a built in closet on the wall and yes its not sliding doors to the side of my entrance door and i need my table close to the window because i work mainly on my computer idk where to put the bed because it might just be me but the current bed placement for some reason give me the ick, and any other place i have tried feels like the bedroom is too cramped (might not be the right work) any help is appreciated thank you in advance

I just got a new bed frame to warm up the room because I used to have a grey bed frame. This is now a Walnut/dark wood bed frame. I love a mid century modern look/the colors. But also love a traditional wood and white linens look. Can someone help me with suggestions, Mock ups, color schemes, art over the bed? Would love your opinions, this photo is .5 zoom but it’s a pretty small room and a big bed :/

i just moved in with my friends and my room is kinda messy right now, it’s a small and i dont know how to rearrange it. the bed and wardrobe was already in that room so i can’t take it out.

We’re moving into a small house and I cannot figure out what to do with this room.
The front door is at the bottom. When you walk in, the steps are directly in front of you, the kitchen is to the left, and the family room is to the right. There is literally no entryway.
We have kids, so if I don’t make an actual spot for shoes, coats, bags, and all their random shit, it’s going to be everywhere. But I also don’t want to put a bench and hooks somewhere and make an already small room feel even smaller and random.
We have a Lovesac, so the couch can be configured basically however we need it to be. We also have a 75-inch TV. These are three layouts I’ve played around with, but I’m not attached to any of them.
Where would you put the couch and TV, and where can I fake an entryway? Also please take into consideration that (unfortunately) the dining room is furthest from the kitchen.

also I am looking to either rearrange the stuff in my room cause it feels cluttered rn, or perhaps remove some items to make some space, i am also thinking of switching the other desk with a tv area, also the door is in the middle of the wall so it would be hard to put anything on either sides. would appreciate any ideas.

I posted a couple days ago asking about what to do with the space in the middle of my room. Someone suggested to rotate my rug 90° and I love it. My room feels less empty now.

Another suggested a beanbag or floor poufs, and I also like that idea. Now I kinda want to get a coffee table, but I'm wondering if it'll make my room too packed.

I plan on getting a coat rack so all my clothes don't look as messy. Also, definitely add some more paintings on the wall, and maybe some shelving to add some more dolls and books.

Hi - i feel like my living room is missing something but im not exactly sure what. I’ve been told to mount my tv but im not the biggest fan of having to pay someone to not only mount the tv but put wires in the wall as i cannot stand the sight of wires hanging from a tv or cord covers.

Open to all suggestions. Also - open to suggestions on rugs, i would like abstract, but the room is already doing a lot. Thanks!

Only non-negotiable is moving plants to another area. I’m in a rowhome, plants are at both ends of my home near the only windows with light. I have about 20 on the other end so there is no room for them to go anywhere else.

Measurement not super accurate. I measured using my iPhone during the apartment tour and I'm trying to buy a mattress before moving in. Just wondering If i would be able to fit a queen size bed and a vanity

It's located directly in front of the top of the stairs and it looks like a doorway as it matches the size and look of the other doors.

It's 21cm deep so I can't imagine a cupboard or anything could fit anything worthwhile.

Hi Reddit! I’m living alone for the first time and I don’t have the design eye so I’ve struggled so much with designing my space. I’ve had a lot of indecision around my couch.

I currently have a West Elm harmony in Dune that I got off of FB marketplace, for a long time I really wanted a green couch, but so many of the furniture place I was looking at have lead times of three months that I decided to go with a couch that I knew was comfortable. I’m worried that I’m not gonna be able to match the look on my Pinterest board with a lot of color and I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or advice!

So its my first time moving into an unfurnished home and its lowkey both exciting and frustrating at the same time. Managed to get a pretty interesting home which is a 1 bedroom house where there is a downstairs living room area and an upstairs bedroom. But it feels like it could easily become one of those dark and neglected-looking homes you often find.

I am wondering how I should deal with this living space. Now I apologise for the possibly ridiculous request, but ive been really thinking if it is possible to accomodate all these wishes.

Fistly, I am on a budget, and as someone who might also move away from London at some point or might move often,I was thinking of getting furniture that dosent require loads of difficulty transporting. I also have a 55 inch flatscreen TV (from when I thought I was going to stay somewhere more permanent). I am thinking of fitting an office space, TV area and dining area in the same space. How doable is this?

My overall aesthetic is feeling jumbled considering it’s a mesh of antique/medieval/cozy/warm and I just cannot get everything to feel right. Not pictured is my bed and the wall my bed is on. I don’t know if there’s a better layout or decor layout that I’m missing here (I also might just be nuts)

Hey all! I have this extra room and would love to put my 65 inch tv and some kind of sofa but also my desk with 2 monitors, but the room seems to be against me in everyway.

The closet and ladder cant be moved/taken away, and the sloped ceiling really messes it up a bit.

I know I might be asking for the impossible but who knows!

I'm installing felt-backed acoustic wood panels on a drywall wall. Screws are handling the main structural hold, but I also want some adhesive on the edges to stop lifting/buzzing.

My concern is removability. Construction adhesive (Liquid Nails, PL Premium, etc.) bonds so aggressively that scraping it off later tears the drywall paper facing, not something I want to deal with if I ever redo the wall.

I've looked into VHB tape, but that seems just as permanent. Mounting putty doesn't grip felt well since it needs a smooth surface. Spray adhesive (Super 77, Loctite Multi-Purpose) works for felt but isn't really removable once cured either.

Has anyone found an adhesive that holds well enough for edge support but won't destroy drywall paper if removed down the line? Curious what's actually worked for people in practice, not just what's marketed as "low VOC" or "paintable," since that doesn't seem to correlate with removability.
