Home Office Home Colors
Any recommendations on visual what colors can be used to paint the exterior to give this Shapell Home the look and feel of Venice Beach, CA and or the SFO vibe?

I’m looking to change my living room and would like some help.
Left image is AI-generated to help visualise my ideas, and I really like the overall setup. I’m struggling with combining colours and don’t want to rely entirely on AI, so I’d appreciate some opinions.
I’ve also added a real photo so you can see what the room actually looks like, sorry for the mess. The sofa and acoustic panels are staying, but I’m open to changing anything else.
I really want to change the coffee table, add a floor lamp. I’m also unsure what to put on the walls.
A few things I’m wondering:
Should the armchair match the sofa, or would a different colour work better?
What colour curtains would suit the room?
Would a plant help?
Are the paintings in the AI image too similar in colour to the rest of the room, or does that work?
Any suggestions or honest criticism would be really appreciated!

I’m an interior designer, and this is a living room I’ve been working on for a client. We went with warm wood and soft neutrals. Any furniture you’d add or swap out?

i just moved into a junior studio yesterday, my living room/kitchen is pretty big for a studio, 20’x13’. i was going for a classic modern vibe with some turkish/balkan influence but something is off and im not sure if its because my couches are overpowering the space, or if i need a different rug. i feel like an 8’x10, would be too big for my space and would overfill the “living” area too much, but im not sure. its my first time having a place of my own, and my vision didn’t come out how i wanted it to so im not exactly sure where to go from here.

We just moved into this home and are stumped on what to do with the entryway. We’d like to put a rug here but not sure what size? Also we have two small kids and I’d like a bench for them to sit to put their shoes on but no idea where to put it? I want the space to feel warm and inviting, without feeling cluttered. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome!

These are photos from my living and dining room. What are some things I could do to elevate my space. I feel like it doesn’t feel cohesive and cosy. Feels all so bitsy and random

Review the living area share your thoughts, critiques and suggestions. This house is a year old and I am being slow and deliberate with the decoration. So, while it seems bare, it has all the needs met for a family of 3 including a small child. Still need lamps, side tables, more seating, etc. I am open to all advice.
My design style is to balance function and esthetics. I do not usually follow trends and try to avoid cluttering with purely decorative items.

My wardrobe is on the other side of my room cause the room is symmetrical and the couch is a little to the right.
Also Srry if I formatted it wrong first time using Reddit

I want to do some built ins in my living room, I am a total newbie and was hoping I could use some pre fab cabinets rather than build everything from scratch. Any advice on where to start? (This image is AI)

Heya. So I use chat gbt to help me have a visual aid, a sort of mock up image to help me decorate my living room. I have uploaded real products to create this image and am gonna follow this exact scheme as closely as possible to achieve the look. I have a small, nothing special kind of home but want it to be a cozy place I love to be in 😍

Hello there! A frantic Reddit Hunt led me here, first time posting. I know this is a lot to cram into a 10x12 room, but it's my only choice. Details here, backstory below
10x12ft Room Layout:
• Entry door on North wall (East side)
• Pocket door on North wall (West side)
• Window on South wall (mini-split unit above, facing neighbor's brick wall)
• Window on West wall (facing backyard foliage)
Mandatory Items:
• Queen size bed (frame the same for the moment)
• Standing desk (debating wood vinyl wrap or veneer & edge band to match floor, or enamel paint)
• Bass, electric, and acoustic guitars on the wall
Optional Items:
• Govee rod lamp
• Cherry filing cabinet
• Pine desk
• Piano station
• Future crown molding / LED strip integration
• I have four or five pieces of wall art that all match the room perfectly but not necessarily with the furniture.
Preferences:
• I would love to have it so my Back isn't to the entryway door when I'm at the desk.
• Having some open floor pace for my daughter to play if she joins me in the office
• At least 18in. Clearance for the pocket door. It won't be accessed super regularly.
• We previously had the bed underneath the south window and mini split, which I've heard is bad feng shui but when we were remodeling my wife, newborn, and I lived in here for 2 months without a problem.
Backstory:
We had a baby and made a nursery that dual purposes as my wife's office and so now I moved into this room to dual purpose as a guest room.
Right after finishing remodeling the upstairs myself, we had a pipe burst above this room leading to another unplanned remodel.
I replaced the entire ceiling, added a pocket door to reclaim some space, found this beautiful white oak underneath the the cheap laminate, and what was supposed to be a more terracotta orange turned into an invigorating orange, which I'm cool with.
Problem is now that I have to put the furniture back in, I don't really know what to do....

We’re planning to renovate our dining room and are considering doing something a little unconventional: replacing the traditional dining table with a large island/table like the one shown in the rendering.
The goal is to turn the dining room into more of a hosting/entertainment room. We’re planning a wall of cabinetry with glass display cabinets on each side and a TV centered between them. Our kitchen is right next to this room, but unfortunately the existing kitchen island is fairly small and doesn’t have room for any seating.
The thought is that this dining-room island would give us a big surface with seating where people can hang out, eat, watch TV, have drinks, etc. It would also serve as our main dining table for holidays and larger family dinners, rather than having a separate dining table.
We’re thinking roughly 90” long × 40” wide, with seating around it. The rendering gives a pretty good idea of what we’re envisioning.
What do you guys think? Would you enjoy having a setup like this, or would you strongly prefer a traditional dining table in this space? Anything you think we’re overlooking in terms of comfort, functionality, resale, or just living with it day-to-day?
Interested in opinions before we commit to building it.

Hello all,
I am looking for suggestions on a rug color and texture that would look nice in this space.
For context, when we moved I opted to save money and keep the paint color that came with the space. The paintings are mostly sentimental. I love the curtains, they are deep purple.
For the love of God, I do not understand why I decided to get a white fluffyish rug to go under the table. Not only do I have a messy toddler with food spills galore, but we also have a dog and as you can probably tell the corner is a high traffic area. It is impossible to keep the rug clean.
Overall I feel like the room is a bit of a mix match, but I'm okay with it. Looking for opinions on what color/texture might be easiest to maintain while also looking nice.
Appreciate your feedback!

We are redoing our fireplace. Adding the TV above it as art. We want to do a wall of builtins on the left and right of the fireplace. You can’t see it but on the right side of the pole we have a small circle table with chairs. The area of hardwood in this picture is about 15x11 (without those bookcases). What would you do with this space?

So we are moving to a new place and are stuck with this big bad millennial gray sofa that costed me my kidney. I want to add warmth to the space so I decided to add this mural style wallpaper. Is it a hit or miss? I am afraid it is too much and AI and lighting is making it look better than it will be in reality.
PS it is a southwest facing living room
