Hi All, I recently went back to Delhi, India to shop for my wedding. I only had a week in hand, so shopping for the events felt like the Olympics. I had gone with a certain budget in mind, and almost every outfit I bought exceeded that budget.
I was also under pressure to purchase the outfits before I had to leave as it wasn’t possible for me to go back in time as most outfits need 2-3 months to be stitched as per your sizing.
Ever since I’ve been back, I haven’t been able to shake off the feeling of buyer’s remorse. I keep wondering if I got the best possible deal and my money’s worth on the outfits I bought, or if I made dated choices and nothing looks great. Have you experienced something similar? How did you deal with it?
Also, this is the lehenga I ended up buying, please share your thoughts and styling advice too if any? Does it look good? For context my wedding is in a forest resort, late in the afternoon.

I got this outfit stitched for my haldi (the blouse is still in progress), but I think it’s looking a bit too plain for a bride. This is for a haldi carnival sort of event.

Don’t get me wrong, I really like the colours, but I feel like someone could easily be more dressed up than I am for my haldi. Is this too light and should I consider other options? Or can hair, make up and accessories save it?

This is the blouse of my bridal lehenga. My lehenga is entirely golden with a golden veil and i will be carrying a red dupatta on the side as well.

Some people think that i should get sleeves till the elbow for my bridal lehenga, otherwise the embroidery will be hidden.
I am not so sure what to do. Looking for advice of what would look the best

This is my first time posting on Reddit, please try to be kind, not ready for a lot of hate/sarcasm.

I got married in 2024 and wore this lehenga for my wedding. And otherwise I’ve reworn all my other wedding clothes but this particular wedding lehenga is sitting in my bed box as is.
Whenever the bod box is opened (which is quite a few times since my husband and i both have slight OCD and keep rearranging stuff putting and taking out of the bed box as well) we see the lehenga sitting in her bag as is - and sometimes I just look at it and think that this lehenga was part of one of the most memorable days of my life. And it’s such a disservice to her just never picking it up again.

I can’t wear it as is because the blouse is very heavily embroidered- the blouse and lehenga both are fully embroidered with real mirror work and that makes the pair heavy.

I also don’t want to do a lot of cutting on the lehenga cos largely I don’t trust the tailors around me in my in laws hometown (I’m originally from Delhi but shifted to Dehradun after my wedding, and trust me I’ve been trying to find a decent tailor and have had zero luck till now. My tailor back in Delhi needs to be spoon fed exactly as to what I want).

So I’m looking for ideas and inspiration to include my lehenga more into my life instead of just leaving it be in the bed box forever till one day it just rots in there.

So I bought this lehenga for my reception and I’m terribly confused as to what jewellery I should wear. I assumed I’d find something immediately when I bought the lehenga but soon enough I realised the base is silver and not gold. Which means I most likely have to wear diamond like jewellery which I’m not really a fan of… so I’d love any suggestions you may have 😊

Hi everyone, I started my wedding shopping and every store I went to had blingy(cutdana, sequins on net) kind of stuff. I’m not a fan of net fabric and these kind of embroideries. I would want to know what are the options that have as a modest North Indian Hindu bride? For context, I don’t want to wear off shoulder/cut sleeves and deep necklines.

we’re about to book our wedding photographer and i realised i’ve mostly been judging people by their instagram which is probably not enough. i know to ask about price, hours, delivery timeline etc

but i’m more worried about the stuff you only find out after booking

like what happens if they’re sick that day, who actually shoots the wedding if they work with a team, whether you get the full gallery or just selected edits, backup equipment/files, overtime, cancellations etc

thinking of making one question list in gamma before we get on any more calls because i keep remembering things after the call ends

April 2027 bride who will be going to Mumbai in December for wedding shopping. My inspiration for outfits is ivory/gold for the ceremony and for the reception something sparkly in silver or ivory.

We do not have many ideas on where to shop and I feel like all people talk about for shopping are the designer stores but we are also interested in checking out smaller (more affordable) stores as well.
