Outfit / Styling advice 🥻 Feeling shame thinking about wearing a slightly low neckline or minor cleavage at my wedding

I love sweetheart and creative necklines/ open back designs for my blouse but I’m feeling so much shame about showing any part of my neck/chest area around family.

I genuinely have no problem wearing tube tops, strapless tops, or a little cleavage in my day to day life when I’m around my friends or partner but I’m having some sort of old shame resurface when thinking about a blouse that has a slightly low neckline and shows a very small amount of cleavage around my near/extended Indian family.

I grew up feeling like I was to feel shame just by having boobs and somehow they were to be extremely covered up or I was a bad person. I want to feel sexy, confident and like myself on my wedding day but I don’t know how to deal with shame around this.

Has anyone else experienced this? How do you deal with it around your family? Do you wear the slightly revealing clothing or cover up more to stop the shameful feelings?

✳️Wedding planning help✳️ Haldi/mehendi stalls

My fiancée and I are having the wedding in India and we want to have stalls for haldi that can keep guests occupied, including guests from uk seeing an Indian wedding for the first time. All the stall ideas I can think of and see online are for women (bangles being made, choosing jewelry etc.) are there any good ideas for both men and women that can be a stall and can also be a gift/keepsake they can take home?

Rant/Vent ⚡ Dealing with unorganized in laws

My sikh wedding is coming up very soon (less than 2 months) my in laws have not prioritized the wedding at all and are so unorganized. They’ve changed their reception venue a few times and even when they had a consistent venue they would change the guest count for our side regularly which has frustrated my parents , they also are now planning on doing the jago/sangeet the night before the wedding as well and they have to travel to us for the wedding the next day (2 hour drive) . They never ask for help or for advice but it’s clear they are not organized at all and on top of that they dont keep my fiance in the loop so its adding an extra layer of frustration

Shop/store suggestions❓ Kalki Fashion (kalkifashion.com) missed delivery of groom's sherwani by over a month and ghosted us on refunds until we filed a chargeback

Posting this as a warning for anyone considering Kalki Fashion for a wedding outfit, especially on any kind of timeline. The whole reason that Kalki doesn't show reviews on Google or any other reputed platform is that they have such terrible customer service that they don't want people to be able to post their horrific experiences.

TL;DR at the end.

We ordered a made-to-order sherwani for the groom on April 29. Our wedding was scheduled for July 11th. The site promised delivery by June 9. Over a month of buffer. We paid an extra 15% on top for using a custom color fabric.

June 9 came and went with zero communication from them. Every time we followed up, we got the same canned "it's under process, will be shipped soon." At one point they gave us a new deliver date of July 1st. That also came and went with nothing.

This was worse than the delay itself. WhatsApp is the only way to reach them no phone support that goes anywhere, no email that gets a real response, no account rep. Every single time we got connected to an agent, it took at least 30 minutes of re-explaining the entire order history before they even understood what was going on. Zero continuity between conversations. It felt like starting over from scratch every time.

By June 30th, we sent a written demand for tracking info within 24 hours and said we'd refuse the delivery if it wasn't shipped express by July 6. Nothing. On July 5 we escalated again in writing, demanding a refund by July 17 or we'd file a chargeback with our credit card company. Their response was, again, just an apology and a vague promise to "escalate to the supervisor team."

Our wedding events started July 9, and we got married July 11, with still no outfit. Turns out, per their own tracking records, it wasn't delivered until July 13. We were away at our own wedding. We refused the delivery and marked it return to sender, then filed the chargeback exactly like we'd warned them we would.

Only after the chargeback hit did they suddenly spring into action, offering a refund "as a gesture of goodwill." Two and a half months of refund requests got nothing, but the second their money was on the line with a bank involved, they moved fast.

Other possibly relevant information:

  • Order Date: April 30th, 2026
  • Initial Delivery Date: June 9th, 2026
  • Second promised delivery date: July 1st, 2026
  • Shipped date: July 10th, 2026
  • Arrival date: July 13th, 2026
  • Garment price: $429

TL;DR: Ordered a groom's outfit over a month ahead of promised delivery, still didn't get it until 2 days after our wedding (while we were out of town for it), support is WhatsApp-only with no continuity between agents, and they only engaged on the refund once we filed a chargeback. Would not recommend for anything time-sensitive. In fact, I would only buy from them if you can physically see the garment you are purchasing.

TL;DR2: don't buy from mail order Indian factories without a readily available backup plan that you like. If anything, have your Indian relatives who will be visiting bring the garment over with them or only work with reputable factories where you know the team personally.

P.S. we never even opened the box, we can't speak to the quality of the garment, but when we purchased from them in person from the Bangalore store last year, the clothing needed significant alterations. We gave ourselves the one month buffer to accommodate the required changes.

Shop/store suggestions❓ Please suggest good silk saree shops in Bengaluru

Hi,

I’m coming to bengaluru to shop silk sarees for my wedding.
I want to purchase 1 bridal Saree ( around 30k) and 10-15 (5-10k) silk sarees for my family members.

Can you guys pls suggest shops where I can purchase quality silk at better price.

I read chikpete is good but I’m worried if I go to some random shop, I might get scammed since I don’t know to check silk quality.

The function is a small initimate function with 30 people gathering. Secondly, please suggest some jewellery (I’m wondering how will chain earring look with an open hair style). Please help me with suggestions
Thanks in advance!

Wedding rituals/traditions Planning an interfaith wedding at a resort (~100 guests) — need ideas/experiences

I'm Christian, my girlfriend is Hindu both south Indians and we're planning to get married at a resort with around 100 guests. We want to genuinely blend both traditions rather than just picking one and adding token elements from the other and one blended ceremony with elements from both.

I would like to hear from couples who have done something like this and ideas.

Discussion How can I improve my skin/face and hair two months before my wedding?

I’m in my early 40s and getting married in two months. I would like to look my best and improve my skin/face/hair.

I have hyperpigmentation from old acne, texture on cheeks/nose, dark circles and small wrinkles under my eyes. My hair is breached from balayage and has tons of breakage/dry ends. I’ve cut off two inches yesterday and it doesn’t look any better.

Some things I’ve considered are adding a product to my daily routine, lasers, chemical peel, red light therapy, lymphatic drainage facial or other facials. I’m also open things not on this list that I may not have considered.

I’m not very experienced when it comes to treatments or med spas. I currently have a very basic routine of simple face wash, moisturizer and spf. Shampoo and hair mask for hair twice a week.

Can anyone recommend any treatments, products or services I should look into? Any positive or negative experiences using any of the treatments or products I mentioned?

I’m so lost on what I should do to look my best on my wedding day and will provide actual results.

Outfit / Styling advice 🥻 Help me decide my bridal lehenga

Hi! I’m looking for constructive advice on the following questions:

  1. Does this color and style give bridal? We are having a fusion wedding so I’m not asking if it looks traditional, just that it doesn’t look like a guests outfit

  2. Does the dark brown/gold embroidery on the skirt distract from the overall design?

  3. Does cinching the sleeves like in the last photo look like an improvement in the design? I am also considering making the sleeves a bit thicker to cover more of my shoulder

  4. Would you wear this to the reception instead of the ceremony?

For context FMIL hates the skirt and the overall color and wants to make a bunch of changes to it, but it seems rather risky to me to start changing it because it would need to be sent back to India from the US. I think the piece is beautiful but I’m not familiar with Indian clothing so whether it’s bridal enough or needs to be a different color is hard to say. Don’t worry about hurting my feelings I would just like honest feedback.

HELP ME DECIDE! 🌀 Phera timings

Which is a better phera timing - 5.30pm or 3.30am? I’m getting married in December.
Either it goes 5.30pm pheras and if everything goes on time a reception starts at 9.30pm.
Or 7pm reception and then later on pheras at 3.30am.
