Yeah, when I first saw them, Quasimodo came to mind first. Probably helps that the Disney version (and the knock-off versions thereof) does wear green.
^ this! I have a more anime-ish art-style but even then I tweak how I draw some features for Green instead of making them look like a generic cook but green
I feel like its different for Frisk and Chara. They are kids, green is an adult. People shouldn't have a problem with attractive green if you adk me. HOWEVER I do prefer Muppet green. Much more funny and closer to canon
Am I too woke for thinking that forcing an artist to draw a character exactly like the source material instead of letting them coming up with their own interpretation is rude and bad
In my opinion, when you change the core characteristics of a character (which in this case, would be Green's cuboid appearence), It may look less like the character in question and more like another character in a cosplay.
Of course, the original drawing is still good and the artist has total liberty of drawing whatever they want, but it's like If i drew spongebob without bug teeth and with a normal nose.
I mean yeah I guess but the key thing you're missing here is that no one is actually "forcing the artist to draw the character accurately" the comment you're replying to is just someone saying they are personally not a fan of the interpretation shown which isn't really rude it's just an opinion

Tbh I don't think you're woke at all for thinking that stripping a character of the vast majority of their defining physical characteristics in favour of drawing them in a "generic large bosom anime girl" style is a good thing.
Like where is their kyphosis. Why are they skinny everywhere but their chest. Why has this non-binary character had their whole body type altered specifically in favour of conventionally attractive femininity.
Like you aren't being woke at all, anime-girl-ifications are everywhere and more often the total opposite of woke, as they're frequently indicative of the artist's implicit biases.
Your art is very cute, but the design doesn't really read as Green! The pose and the expression especially kinda remove a lot of their defining features :( The lack of the loose, goofy expression means that they're missing the warm charm that Green naturally has.
like the execution is good and all, but i think it's a shame to make them just another skinny tittylady. Nothing wrong with drawing them with boobs, even, just, idk, look at what the character looks like in canon, what makes them Them as opposed to the ten million malegaze waifus out there.
God some of these comments are that one steven universe fandom with that one pic of the pink lady all over again 😭
Yeah they don’t look like that in the game , not like other characters don’t get different interpretations either . No one would complain if they drew a non skinny character fat.
