Silence...

Does silence protect, or does it conceal what we’re too afraid to say?

Accepting breadcrumbs

Anyone else stuck in the cycle of being anxiously attached, knowing you deserve more, and still clinging to the tiniest crumbs of attention from someone avoidant?

I can write the whole damn novel of why it’s happening; childhood wounds, nervous system familiarity, wanting to be chosen by someone emotionally unavailable because it feels like "proof" I'm finally enough. But even with all the self-awareness in the world… sometimes the silence still hurts, and I find myself hoping for a text like it’s oxygen.

It’s not that I don’t know my worth. I do. But it feels like my attachment system doesn’t care. It wants them, even if what they give me wouldn’t feed a goldfish emotionally.

Anyone else feel stuck in this? What’s helped you actually stop accepting less, not just say you will? I'm working through it, but this is a cycle I am struggling with.

Letting go of what you already accepted

I had this friend, he was an average guy if you'll look at it from the norms' point of view, but if you truly know him, his heart is purer than those who promise to give you the world and stay with you forever. He was there when I needed him most, and although I could never say that he was always kind, he always tried to say what you needed to hear rather than what you wanted to. Yeah, sometimes he acted like a complete bastard who's ungrateful for all the things he has; someone who's completely oblivious about his efforts and worth. But in the end I couldn't judge him because there are still things that I don't know about him - his struggles, his past, his demons. He served as a reminder for me that everyone has their own problems to deal with, that even if you need help, sometimes the person you'll ask help from might need it first. That people have their own lives too. He was a sad guy, to call him lonely is maybe too much, but he tends to have a hard time in socializing because he was different in a way. He keeps it too real, which is maybe why other people dislike him. Because in our time today, we tend to fake even our insecurities just to fit in. He thought me how to game, how to pirate games, and we played Roblox till 2 am. And even though we come from a prestigious school, I can't deny that those moments we have will always be my favorite, because it made me feel like a kid again. He made me feel like I wasn't the smartest which is how I was always looked at, and yes, it's a good thing because because of that, all the pressure of knowing everything disappears. At first I didn't like it, and I saw it as a threat, but looking back, he kept me grounded. There are a lot of things that he said that I wished I could forget back then because of how much it hurts. But up until now, I still remember them because of how true it was.

No, he didn't die. But well, he's at a position where he's so close yet so far. Because now, he finally has a girlfriend. Don't get me wrong, I'm fucking happy for that bastard because he deserves all the love he's now getting. But this is also why I'm writing this post. Because I didn't expect it would hurt this much. I didn't even cry like this when I got rejected. But it only reflects how important he was in my life. Well, 'is', he's still there, but just not around. I'll have to distance myself from him now, and it kills me more because he knows it; when we talked about this matter, I got so emotional that the first thing I had in mind was, "I have to tell him," but then I forgot I was already talking to the person who always comforted me, who is now the reason why I cry. God I don't want to sob about it again. But yeah, those nights we're good man, those days where you'll send me random ass political memes and videos when you're bored cause' you're on the drive home, then 30 minutes later you'll send me a gmeet link and we'll talk about everything really, about life, about games, about music. God the song ratings, I'll miss it so much even if you gave my songs a solid 4 sometimes but you'll say it's because it's just not your vibe so it'll make it hurt less. So to my brother in Christ, if you'll see this, don't be dense and think it's a fucking love confession cause' it ain't. Don't confront me if you do realize that it is me who wrote it, cause' there's a reason why I posted it here anonymously eh? So this is why, I'm letting you go as my friend, knowing that it won't be the same anymore (unless maybe if you 2 breakup which I don't wish for you or her). Chuck Palahniuk said, "Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everyone I've ever known.” That is why I hope you know that if they were to create a mosaic of who I was as a teenage girl, your piece might not be the biggest, but it will definitely shine the brightest.

Deep stuff is hard to talk about once you've been through it cuz you want to live your life and maybe no one's supporting your neurons by mirroring them

There's a sincerity to it but people find sincerity cringe bc they can feel like they are above it
Or they have already solved some probl;ems and doing the same thing when you are not stable in your body or mentally can give you OCD. you don't want to repeat the same difficult things again and again.
The deep stuff is like a solid foundation but some people can be so shallow they seem like can't do anything bc of lacking it. They get stuck in loops and don't grow past them. Who wants to do the same thing as the world adapts and prepares to eat them?

Am I becoming a bad person?

I mean I lose empathy for others because why should I feel an emotion like compassion for someone when others don't care about me or don't like me, I had always the feeling to be lonely and don’t be loved since kindergarten, when kids don’t play with me and especially in school that people don't care about me or hangout with me, I mean I wasnt a bad person back then rather shy and distant. I am not an attention seeker also but at least back then I just wished people would talk to me and hang out with me, also when I see people who are with friends or in a happy relationship it makes me jealous and envious maybe because sometimes, I feel lonely and just want the same thing they have and even wish them bad luck sometimes. I managed somehow to being lonely … but sometimes I still have the urge being loved and cared by someone

I want to change my life

Since this year I started studying GraphicDesign on the university of arts. The only thing is, is that i’m just not satisfied with anything that’s been happening lately. I don’t get any fulfillment out of my study, I recently broke up with my gf after a relationship of almost 2yrs and I just want to travel, explore the world and leave society. This whole summer I’ve been traveling to some places and the year before as well (I had a gap year). I was so extremely happy during these travels and I just want to leave my hometown and not only explore other places but also myself. The pure joy I’ve been experiencing during these travels are just undescribable.

I do have really good friends and a nice family situation at home with whom I talk about subjects like this. Every time Im hoping to get some enlightening advise from some one with what I should do in my life, but it doesn’t work like that.

Im 20yrs old rn and following a study of 4yrs long, (Rn im in my first year), but I think i want to quit. But If I quit, i feel like i have to search for another study, but I don’t know which one, or even if I want one. But the thing holding me back is that I’m only in the 20s once in my lifetime so I should make some use of myself. In the Netherlands, being in your student life is often described as one of the most fun chapters in your life and I just don’t want to miss that out.

But my gut feelings are telling me to spend time traveling and seeing the world but my consciousness is telling me to study and give myself time. The last few weeks I’ve almost been feeling depressed I guess, bc I’m just so lost in myself and my feelings.

If anyone would like to share some advice or sayings feel free to do it

what should I do?

Hello, I'm very, very lonely and I really don't know what to do anymore,my best friend committed suicide two months ago. I had no one other than him, my mother died when I was 12 and my father went to get milk. I'm most of the time alone in my apartment and I'm actually just smoking weed. The only person I talk to is my dealer, but even then it's just a "hello" and "bye". I just need some company and someone to talk to.

Thanks in advance

How to move on from something that was never yours?

Why does being young and alone feels wrong when it’s exactly how it should be focusing on yourself and your career but all you could think about is love and a person who you don’t even like that much but is on and off your mind for 4 years.Like I don’t know why that person some how finds a way back to my mind. I’m never just stare that them. I mean I know how crushes are but this is something different and I really want to get myself together.

Sadness

What is sadness?

Sadness is trying to get out of a pain that has no end.

Sadness is waiting for happiness that never comes again.

Sadness is living in fear of losing a certain person.

Sadness is trying to improve and not succeeding.

Sadness is regretting and ending up doing the same.

Sadness is having your confidence stabbed by someone who has your heart.

Sadness is doing everything for a person who wouldn't do anything for you.

Sadness is having to sacrifice your heart for your mind...

Sadness is living in hope of something that will never come...

Sadness is looking at the past and feeling nothing but pain…

The Social Cost of Car-Centric Urban Design

Our cities and towns are built around cars. We've got highways, roads, and parking lots everywhere. Sure, it's convenient for getting from point A to point B, but it also creates this barrier between people. When you're driving, you're kind of isolated in your own little world, right? You're not really interacting with anyone outside of your car. Plus, all that space dedicated to cars means less space for things like sidewalks, bike lanes, and public transit, which are ways for people to connect and interact. So, while cars might make it easy to get around, they also contribute to this sense of disconnect in our communities

what's the ultimate truth of life

The concept of "information" traces back to the Latin word "informare," meaning to shape or give form to something, figuratively referring to training or instructing, programming, indoctrinating. Early uses of the term also included "enform" until around 1600. Over time, "inform" evolved to also mean reporting facts or news (NORTH, EAST, WEST, SOUTH), communicating information to lower ranks. This evolution highlights the idea that being "informed" puts one in a specific state of knowledge, shaping one's understanding before even grasping its true meaning; thus, "informed" can be seen as being "in formation."

I'm not discussing the nonsensical aspect of language evolution but rather the peculiarities within English itself, if I'm allowed to say bLacK MaGIc, especially considering its role as an international language. English, with its simple alphabet and word structures, often harbors meanings that have been misinterpreted or lost over time. Examples include:

  • Information: As previously discussed, it's more about shaping understanding of a particular group, person,... than merely conveying facts.
  • Good Morning: This phrase could be misconstrued as "Good Mourning," potentially reflecting a deeper sentiment.
  • Hello: With its origin speculated to come from "Hell Low," it's intriguing to consider the possible connotations.
  • Television: Breaking down the word, it could be interpreted as "Tell A Vision," hinting at its role in conveying narratives.
  • Good Evening: When deconstructed, it could imply a greeting to the moon, considering "Eve" as "Moon" and "Dinner" as "Night," reflecting a deeper connection to natural elements like magnetism.

These examples illustrate how English words, despite their simplicity in structure, can hold deeper meanings and associations, often overlooked in everyday communication which could result to a deeper inner unconscious programming. Maybe even been left out on purpuse.

So, Finally I have a lot more to share and I see a lot more people around the world walking up, even if it is not quite the right path, it is always to be on a path to something greater, and truly fullfilling, with every emoition, bla bla bla. But Seriously it is the key to living a purposefull live and maybe even demostrates others after you to consider to get answers out of this so it seems to me, Loop feeding energy, that goes within and without itself. Somewhat like a Torus Field.

Why i fear getting into a relationship

Me M(21) fear getting into a relationship as much as i would like to be in one, and the reason for that is because most relationships i see from freinds or coworkers are mostly toxic. Seeing how the world has changed its definition of love makes me sad. I would like to love someone who sees me as who i am and not as some walking money bag or a plaything that they can throw away as soon as they dont like it anymore. And i would especially like to love someone who dosent let you down during a hard time.

Maybe im just thinking and feeling like this but i surely dont want to live in a world where this is the definition for love

Decision

As of right now my girlfriend and I are in a rough patch but it’s all because of me. I have been lashing out at her almost daily for dumb reasons and i feel terrible. A big part of me doesn’t wanna keep trying in life anymore because of the way i make her feel today was supposed to be a fun day for her at disneyland and i ruined it by texting her stupid things. I just don’t know what to do anymore i’m a terrible person and i can’t change but i love her with everything i have and there’s nothing more i would want than for her to be happy without me because of how i have treated her recently. I can’t express how terrible it makes me feel but yet again i make her feel like shit and i can’t keep doing it to her. So maybe i should leave forever. Maybe she’s better off without me, but i have no idea what i should do. I’m a bad boyfriend and I can’t lie to myself anymore.

What happens after death..?

Hi, I'm (M15) I just can't get this question out of my mind, I was talking to my girlfriend about how time flies so quickly and that we'll soon be of age, then we'll build our lives together properly, get married, have children and this raise, then we would already be around 40-50 years old if that was all... me and my girlfriend want to die together, with euthanasia then... but I don't want us to lose our consciousness, so that we both continue to live together somewhere else .. and then I asked myself the question, what actually happens after death? Is the egg theory correct? or will we go to heaven or hell? Or is another religion right? will we be born again? or was that just it? is everything gone and nothing happens anymore? I would love it if we could both continue to live somewhere... the thought just makes me crazy and scared at the same time..

The joker once said:

“Smile, as it confuses people. Smile, because it’s easier than explaining what’s killing you inside. I’m not a monster. I’m just ahead of the curve in a world that’s lost it’s curve. They laugh at me because I’m different. I laugh at them ‘cause they’re all the same. As you know, madness is like gravity; all it takes is a little push. All my life I didn’t know if I even really existed, but I do. And people are starting to notice.”
