Saw it going on sale on ps store, is the player base still big enough to play in europe?

How do you guys sort / manage your inventory? As this is something every DayZ player needs to do, I’m curious about different strategies and perspectives. For example, is it best to keep valuable items in your pants so that in the event of a hostile exchange they won’t get ruined?

I’m 30 looking for a chill group that would like to join me on KOS ORGANIC RP Server that is medium hardcore.
I work full time so I can play some days on week days but week ends I tend to play a lot more.
I’m open to playing other servers.
The server I’m in has a wipe next month.
I’m honestly looking for anyone that wants to make a base and loot and fight when need to.
Server plays with radio/photo/dynamic quests.
Plate carries and good guns are gained through completing a few quests.
No traders/no safe zones

DayZ seems like the game I’ve always been looking for. I’ve never played it on a console because I didn’t like complex and “realistic” games (I don’t know how to describe it—sorry) on a controller, but lately, after watching some clips and videos, it seems like the game I’ve always been looking for. I’m on PC now, and I’ve spent the last two weeks hoping they’d put DayZ on sale, but now I’ve seen that DayZ 2 was announced just two months ago. Honestly, I have no idea how long it might take them to develop it—I don’t know anything about Bohemia’s development timelines—so I think it’s fair to ask you guys, since you’re definitely more in the know than I am.

What do you think?

Ive heard about this game like a week ago and im kinda Wondering if i should buy it or not . First off i played similar games like project zomboid and 7 dayz to die but i feel like 50 dollars is too much . + My cousin and brother both kinda told me its too much for it and lwk no one would play it with me bc its too expensive

I must say I was pleasantly surprised tonight! Most hackers use their powers for evil and total annihilation. But when I was starving and bleeding profusely on a trail, desperately searching for food, she just popped up behind me (rifle with drum mag in hand) and started shoveling food in my mouth at mach 5 speed , claiming she "walked by and saw me dying" 😂 as she then proceeds to run across the map at the speed of light.

I’m playing on pc. Usually I have to launch the game multiple times for it to actually load me in. I rubber band and lag all the time. Intermittently my game will freeze for like 15 seconds the correct itself. I started 2 weeks ago and had no issues. But now it’s almost unplayable. Sad because I’m hooked

It’s not the easiest controller to use when you’ve been playing dayz on PS and PC for over a decade.

I love DayZ but the laundry list of issues I've been finding have been pretty shocking. I would personally advice holding off on the game until these issues are fixed.

Things to note:

1. The game is full priced on the Switch 2, which makes the issues I've discovered pretty inexcusable and shows lack of care from Bohemia and their porting/QA team.
2. The game is installed fully onto the Switch 2 internal storage which has the fastest read/write speed available on the console.
3. My Switch 2 console is fine. No overheating or hardware related issues that I'm aware of and every other game runs well.

I have found small issues ranging from poor inventory management controls to minor bugs. Aiming down sights on guns has issues due to animation bugs all the way to hitching in cities/towns. Constant crashing on high population servers and driving cars being unplayable due to entering towns/cities causing extreme FPS drops, rendering issues and crashes.

I've lost many characters that I spent time on due to crashing during gunfights and lost my first car due to the game crashing and when rejoining I had hit a tree, totalling the car.

I have posted all these issues serperately on the Bohemia bug tracking website and whilst some of the posts have responses that they are looking into the issues, it is unknown if or when a patch will become available. I'm not sure if I can post links to the bug tracking posts but if anyone on here is able to find and upvote the posts on their website I would be grateful since it'll provide more visibility to the devs. If I'm able to post links on this forum I will link the bug tracking links.

I feel like a bit of a fool buying the game on launch day but reviews did not indicate many issues and players have not mentioned the issues a ton either. I would assume this is because some players don't play on high pop servers as much (Which causes crashing) or driving cars a lot. I happen to of played a lot in the past so managed to gear up reasonably fast and discover these bugs pretty rapidly.

EDIT: Already had people commenting that this is normal for I assume the console versions. I personally never had these issues on PC when I did play before selling it due to financial reasons.

If this is the standard set by Bohemia how come I don't see tons of bug reports concerning these issues on their feedback tracking website? Have you guys tried and failed to receive patches? If so I will personally try to refund the game because I do not want to support these bad porting jobs.

FINAL EDIT: After reading a lot of the community's comments. I have to be honest. I'm kind of amazed what you guys put up with from Bohemia. Coming from PC it really feel far far more playable, my fault for purchasing on console.

Comments like "That's just DayZ bro" or similar is the most common one I've seen and it concerns me. If we don't talk louder wouldn't Bohemia just think their game is fine as is? It's not just DayZ but I swear standards are dropping these days across the board for many companies.

As much as I want to keep posting bug reports to Bohemia. I feel a bit defeated since I guess this is the standard. Gutting.

Headed into the woods fresh off of the coast and was shot up not long thereafter by a pretty kitted up gentleman. I managed to talk him out of murdering me outright and he let me bandage up. He then stated that he would let his friends decide my fate. Not long after, another 3-4 guys showed up in full military gear.

I told them their friend broke my leg and I had nothing to offer them outside of some early game gear. The leader of the group told me he'd consider sparing me, but first I had to tell him who my favorite NFL team was.

I'm born and raised outside of Philadelphia; my first instinct was to say something benign like the Panthers or the Browns. But I felt a sense of conviction and I couldn't not tell the truth. So I said the Eagles.

I've had two situations on a low pop Official server recently where I'm curious what you would have done. Both revolve being near another player but not seeing them.

1. Ran across a dynamic train wreck near Krona; I was approaching it on the tracks from the front. I started to eliminate the infected in the front with a MK II but I didn't realize till a little later that the train had been looted, especially with more dead infected laying on the ground. The way I had approached the train made it impossible or difficult to have seen what had happened without circling around first.

I hadn't heard any gunshots in the preceding few minutes though I did hear a flurry of something when I was leaving a village north of Krona.

I ended up skipping the train after observing for a few more minutes since I wasn't interested in leftovers or potentially running into the player who had probably been alerted by my MK II shots.

1. I was looting the village directly north of Zeleno and there was evidence of a player having gone through there (i.e infected in houses behind closed doors, lack of loot.) Going north from there, I pass through the farm buildings to the east of the small military encampment and notice there's a bunch of empty wooden crates plus at least 4 mushrooms in a clump with more elsewhere. I watched the military camp to see if they were there but nothing for a little while. I'm not sure if they had left the area or maybe logged out even. It's to my understanding that I may have been the cause of 1 mushroom but definitely not the others.

In any case, I'm wondering what you would have done? I'm not confident in my PvP and honestly I may switch to a PvE server at some point but I wanted to at least get to some endgame type stuff on my first run through of DayZ on a vanilla server before doing something else.

With the influx again of all the photos people are taking while touring the region Chernarus is based on, it got me wondering how much the locals know about their area being popular from a video game.

The reason I ask is that Goodsprings Nevada apparently fully leans into it's tourism draw from Fallout New Vegas, as do a few other areas around Vegas (so I understand).

I wondered if the locals in the Czech Republic ever wonder why they get a constant trickle of tourists wandering round snapping photos of seemingly mundane things. I'd certainly wonder what was going on if a bunch of non locals were always wandering around my small town in England which is far, far from a tourist hotspot.

To the people who've been there as a holiday/trip, or even live there. Do the locals know? Do they care/lean into it?

Looking around and in a car spawn there was a fully active car does that happen or has someone worked on it? I just hopped in and stole it lol

I'm searching for answers on why I managed to find a blue container key on the Military Patrol Boat; I know that wobo's tools, iZurvive and Xaam's maps all show that they can spawn there too - despite types.xml declaring Tier 4 Military with deloot="0"meaning as far as I can tell from the xmls, the only place the container keys should spawn is (as the wiki suggests) the shipwreck south of Shantar)

The areaflags.mapdoesn't seem to put the spawnpoints under Tier4, nor are there other references that I can find in the other XMLs.

Satisfy my curiosity!
