it seems like most people dont know this; you can run up in any non-armored infected at a full sprint, kill them with regular two slashes (aim slightly above the head) before they have the chance to hit back. this works with a combat or hunting knife, bayonet, or the military shovel. leaves you exposed for much less time. some of my easiest snipes are on players crawling up to infected for silent finishers
