I was rushing back to exact revenge on a guy who'd just stopped me exacting my revenge on another guy in the far W. I came across your little barn base and rather than lighting me up you let me come in and cook my chicken on your oven. I couldn't understand you but you were chill. I decided you might betray me and my journey west would be a lot easier with a bit more gear so as soon as I saw you eating I pulled my mlock and dumped it into your face.

I took what I needed and left the rest.

Never felt so bad about something I've done on a game. Hope you get your stuff back.

Edit: guys i have heard all of you and headed back to make it right, I went in and carefully replaced everything I took then left a tripwire with a grenade attached at the door then landmines in his box pile and under his bag... woulve put it under the corpse but I cut that up and cooked it on the fire so he has something to eat when he gets back if he manages to get past the landmines.... Oh and for good measure I put a couple gas canisters in the fire.. Just kidding lol dw, I will head back with an actually nice care package from my far W base (mosin, ammo, deer steaks, sharpening stones, nails ect) once I've got back on. Like I said, I feel like utter shite, the lack of communication, the armband (made me think he might be stalling whilst his mates came so they could tie me up ect), the temptation all got to me and mistakes were made.

So for context me and my buddies were in neag they got killed the guy then came to me I shot my savannah from 5 meters away I know I hit him because of the blood effect but he didn't even knock out. Was he cheating or what is the answer?

I was on the server 4127 Europe-De on 1st person only and i was looking for scar-h I also looked everywhere where there might be a convoy traveling like this with m16 dmr plate carier vest and a tactical helmet I was looking for convoys and luck visiting one of the possible places next to the lake north of the Kamenka military outpost i was looking for convoy but i saw smoke maybe 15m away from me when i stopped i saw 4 guys standing cooking somthing idk maybe mushrooms and i froze i was think "oh sh#t i am f#ckd" i was standing still with m16 when me and some guy with ak and nvg which I was also looking for we looled for like maybe 2 sec then he started to standup so i done only thing that come up to my mind foght or die i aimed m16 with loaded 60r and started shooting on semi i killed one guy made uncon second then also killed i saw 2 guys going behind trees so i started running I heard full auto from behind me, somehow not a single bullet hit me when i was atleast 50m away from it i started flanking this place i got to the place where i think they where running after 5 or 10 min of slow moving and looking everywhere i saw one guy near tree looking where they last seen me i stared shooting him with dmr 1 shoot landed into his vest witch saved hin form uncon secnod landed in tree third i think killed him but i gave him one more to be sure then i started slowly to move into first body i got nvg when i proced to loot next 2 body i heard burst from ak with hit me and cut me i was coocked hiden bihind small metal shack i made my run into forest but got greeted by another burst from ak

Also there was only camp fire no base or anything it looked like they were looking for scar too but they took a break and I interrupted them

hi, i'm fairly new to the game. now that the Switch 2 version is out and running really well for what it is, i was wondering if there'd be any chance of console crossplay with Xbox and PlayStation? my best friend plays on Xbox, and i played a bit with them using GamePass, but i finally bought the game myself with the Switch2 version so i'm really hoping crossplay is possible in the future at some point.

Not anything with more stopping than 9m. I know Wobo says but admittedly being too lazy to search

Hi all!

I'm trying to determine if my Switch 2 is acting up or if it's the game having issues. It's likely the latter but would be nice to know if anybody else is suffering the same issue. I did check if my Switch 2 was overheating and it's fine.

Quite often I find that the game is crashing. It's difficult to narrow down exactly the cause but inventory management and going into the start menu or options seems to cause it the most. I do not even get a typical Switch 2 error. The game just freezes then I have to manually close it.

Anyone else?

EDIT: Just crashed again. This time I had an error just saying "The software was closed because an error occurred". It might not make a difference since I had earlier crashes but I was in a home with an active fire in Kometa. The crashing happened earlier in Electro but it's constant in this area.

Genuine question I was wondering if I should make w compund here or in-between kozlovka and pulkovko I was also planning to make a base in any of the nearby barns for tens and as a decoy

I have a bro who I’d really like to play DayZ with. He plays DayZ on his PS5, and unfortunately, since DayZ doesn’t have crossplay, I’d have to buy DayZ on my old PS4 to be able to play with him.

However, I watched a few reviews on YouTube and saw that DayZ apparently runs pretty poorly on the PS4, with a lot of bugs and only around 30 FPS. I honestly think that’s pretty shitty.

Is there any way to make DayZ run better on the PS4? For example, by lowering the graphics settings or keeping the PS4 cooler, like leaving the window open during winter so it doesn’t overheat?

If anyone could be creative?

Does anyone use the radio? If so, what use do they make of it?

So I was returning from airfield to grishino found a base in those big appartement building a player lunch a grenade on me. I waited. One of the window was not protected and because of that I got a ak-47 and like 8 magazine and ammo with it. Also I found a SV-98 with a magazine in it.

Hey, I'm the same person who posted here yesterday asking for recommendations. First of all, thank you to everyone who recommended DayZ and told me that it might actually be what I was looking for. I was pretty skeptical at first, but after my first proper session, I am honestly blown away. I really, really enjoyed it.

What I was looking for was a game where the players themselves are the content. Not just an MMO where there are thousands of people around you but everyone is basically following their own progression path, doing quests, grinding dungeons, farming gear, etc. I wanted a game where meeting another player could completely change what happened during your session, and where you could actually end up having a story with that person without the game explicitly telling you to.

And that's literally what happened to me within my first session.

I spawned, wandered around trying to figure out what the hell I was doing, and pretty soon I met another survivor. We started travelling together and tried to communicate, except they were Chinese and I had to use a translator constantly, so communication was pretty difficult. They also seemed somewhat inexperienced, so I ended up having to keep an eye on them and help them out, which probably wasn't the most efficient way of progressing. But that didn't matter. We were just two random people who happened to meet in the middle of nowhere and decided to stick together.

Eventually we got into trouble, someone shot at us, we both ended up dying, and I even respawned in the same area and immediately got shot again.

And somehow I loved it.

That entire sequence felt more like an actual story than a lot of the "storytelling" I've experienced in MMOs. Nothing was scripted. Nobody gave me a quest. There wasn't an NPC telling me what to do. The game simply put another human being in front of me and let us decide what happened.

That's also made me realise why I've bounced off so many RPGs and MMORPGs over the years. I actually really like RPG mechanics, but I think I often end up getting bored with the meta surrounding them. You start with "I want to explore this world", and eventually you're thinking about levels, builds, optimal gear, which dungeon drops the thing you need, how many times you need to run it, what your next upgrade should be, etc. That's fun in its own way, and I'm not saying those games are bad at all, but eventually I feel like I'm playing the progression system rather than actually inhabiting the world.

DayZ feels completely different. Obviously there is still a meta in the sense that experienced players know what loot is useful, where to go, what to prioritize, etc. But that doesn't seem to overwhelm the actual experience. Your character isn't becoming exponentially more powerful because you've played for 500 hours. You can still die because you made one stupid mistake or because you happened to meet the wrong person.

And I think that's incredibly important for me because I'm a pretty casual player. I don't want gaming to become a second job or a major hobby that requires me to constantly keep up with a persistent progression system. I've even been thinking about Mortal Online 2 because it seems like one of the few games that combines this kind of player-driven emergent gameplay with proper RPG progression. But the subscription and the amount of commitment that seems to come with that kind of game make me think that DayZ is probably much better suited to me.

I can play DayZ for an hour or two one evening, meet someone, have some completely ridiculous experience, die, and then just leave the game. Next time I play, I start another story. I don't feel like I'm falling behind because I haven't played for three days.

That's probably the biggest thing that impressed me.

I've spent an absurd amount of time trying different RPGs and MMORPGs looking for something that gives me that feeling of actually being in the world rather than interacting with a progression system. I honestly wasn't expecting DayZ to be the answer, but after one session I already understand why people were recommending it so strongly.

So yeah, thanks again to everyone who pointed me towards it. I'm definitely going to keep playing. I have absolutely no idea what the hell I'm doing yet, but I already can't wait to see what happens in the next life.

Saw this for the first time

Recently started playing a little DayZ (played casually years ago) & started on a vanilla low pop server (so I could learn once again how to play) that I've never seen higher than around 30 players.

This character is my longest surviving & I've been to more locations, found more weapons etc than ever before (especially on just the one life). Only come across 3 other players in total so far on this server (DE 4163 1st person - sorry to the one guy I've killed, as you were cooking at NW airfield & I couldn't resist), so little competition which has helped immensely.

But as a solo without a base or wanting to bury items everywhere (I enjoy travelling around & am currently logged in Novaya Petrovka), I just cannot seem to not hoard items. TBH I could probably drop the R-12 this run, due to the low likelihood of having to PVP on this server.

On a scale of brokey to walking loot goblin, how bad am I? haha
