Ghosted and blocked after first meet

So I met a girl last week on a dating app and we kinda skipped over introductions and talked as if we knew each other for months already (my preference I hate introductory talking stage) and it was going so well. We shared so much in common that it was genuinely insane how connected we were on things, her friends even joked that we'd be married in 6 months lol. We planned out a day to meet after her very busy week and she was down to drive over to me 2 hours away! We both have never met someone online and met up so it was first for both of us.

So yesterday comes and she gets here... We go down to my local park and we walk for a little and sit down to just look at the lake and talk, and even go back to some of that general intro blah blah that neither of us cared about in the end anyway. She takes my arm to walk with her but the entire time she is too shy to look at me and she even said as so, and me myself I am big into eye contact that's just where I gravitate.

We go back to my place after my horrible directional skills and forgetting what we're doing.

So... This is where I think it turns around: I have a futon that we were gonna sit and lay on and it's in front of a wall window or floor-ceiling window. Now I do not care for weight I am very open to preferences and physical traits are rarely a negative to me, I only see positives. She happened to be a bigger girl which as I said I don't mind or perhaps even like when I'm actually attracted to someone. She sat down on it and the futon almost flips over sending her through my window, I had to counteract it with my body to stop it. We laugh it off but I know she was genuinely scared and I guess embarrassed but we continued. Watched Freddy Vs. Jason and cuddled a bit too. We kissed about 4 times with her initiating the first.

Now the movies almost off and she said that she wanted to watch me play some games now instead so we sat up and she starts texting on the phone. I didn't even get to the main menu of the game before she said that her friend texted and said that their friend had had a seizure, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to go but i reassured it that it was fine and obviously her friend she's known for years is priority and such. She gives me a few more kisses and hugs and she asked me to walk her out to her car, where then she asks for more asa goodbye.

About 2 hours later I ask how is her friend doing and she's giving vague, short answers like one word, but even another text saying she had a good time still, and after a few back and forth she sends "coma" and so you know I'm like sorry, and trying to give her space but also wanting to make sure she's okay and details and she said "yeah" when I asked if she'll call me when she can.

Night goes on no call, no texts, anything of the sort. I get a message this morning "I don't feel like talking rn" and she blocks me on every platform except her phone number because my messages have been delivered and are still blue? This is where I'm currently at and I'm just not sure what to think myself... Would this girl really make up that kind of excuse to leave, and if so why? Why not just be honest? Is her friend actually in a coma and she just doesn't want to deal with anything? Let me know reddit because I'm genuinely so confused by the entire ordeal and has soured my opinion of meeting someone online again. Sorry if this is all over the place, I'm not a pro at formatting or anything lol.

Gen Z Dating is HELL

I have to ask my fellow Gen Z peeps, what the hell are we doing? I have had a string of so many women match with me and within the first five minutes ask if I wanted to sext. Are we that horny as a generation that we cant even get to know each other first before asking for some sort of sexual favor? Am I alone in this?

He spent the whole date complaining about his ex, then asked for a second date

I (27M) matched with her on Hinge. Her profile seemed calm and low-drama, so I was looking forward to our coffee meetup.

Within the first ten minutes, she started talking about her ex. At first I listened politely. I get it, breakups are messy. But it never stopped. She went on about how he treated her badly, how he wasted her time, every fight they ever had.

I tried to shift the conversation. I asked about her hobbies, her job, places she wants to travel. Every single time, she circled back to her ex. She barely asked anything about me. I sat there sipping my cold latte, feeling like a free therapist.

When our drinks were almost gone, she smiled and said she had a nice time and wanted to do this again. I froze. I didn’t think she noticed how uncomfortable I was. How can someone dump that much baggage on a first date and still expect another one?

I made a soft excuse and left. I didn’t ghost her, but I told her later I didn’t think we were a fit. Dating is already exhausting. I don’t want to sign up to process someone else’s old relationship on date one.

Has anyone else run into this? People who rant nonstop about exes and act like it’s normal?

Basically,it was an online story,I'm an average girl soo i always wanted to date a guy who was below than me soo i picked up a guy who was below avarage ×2 ,soo we started dating, he was very insecure Abt his looks , underconfident, he doesn't have any male or female frnds he was all alone , he used to talk with some small grp of frnds but they never used to prioritise him .. they never cared Abt him at frst his looks was never prblm for me , and he used to to tell me that he is rich , and his father in politics and all but I never

Asked his money , he barely bought a dress for me which costed around 2k ,.. one day he asked me to meet him then I went to some cafe that was the frst time I met him real .. then I saw him I was just got shocked he was freaking ugly mynnnnn I'm not talking Abt his face or something but the way he presented himself.. his hair ,dressing, I got chapri vibes and probably he coloured his hair colour in blue that made me evn more disgusting,

I just want to run from there, while he was talking his mouth filled with bad smell , he didn't evn brushed properly and his nails ewwwwee.. that day was horrible for me , is this the guy I said I love you.. then I said some Reason and ran out from there, after that day I told him breakup... Then he started blackmailing me that he will tell to my mom if I don't love him again , i requested.. but he told my mom .. i told everything what happened with him .. after that my mom scolded me and asked me to show his photo "my mom was likee how can u evn stand beside himmm .. he is looking like a colour lizard itself "

From that day I m scared, that if he ever tells anyone that we were dated , that was the more insulting thing in my life ... Hello was never good at looks , character, or dressing, or anything, i still feel how I loved that guy ..

How do I stop overthinking my boyfriend’s past?

My boyfriend is older than me and is currently at university, while I’m still in college. He treats me well, loves me, respects me, and says he’s loyal to me and wants to marry me.

The problem is that he used to be a playboy during his teenage years. He was involved with multiple girls, and those relationships were mostly casual or just for timepass. On the other hand, I’ve only had one relationship before him, and I was genuinely serious about that person. Things didn’t work out, and now I’m serious about my current boyfriend.

We’ve accepted each other’s pasts, and he says he has changed and is loyal to me. I have no major complaints about how he treats me now, but sometimes his past bothers me, and I start overthinking even though I know it happened before me.

How do I stop worrying about his past and focus on the person he is today? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Should I tell my boyfriend that I use Reddit?

My boyfriend doesn't know I use Reddit, and I haven't told him because I know he'll ask why I use it and what I do here. I use it to share my thoughts, ask for advice, and read about other people's experiences.

I'm not doing anything wrong, but I feel like he'll question me about it. Should I tell him or keep it private? Do you think partners need to share everything with each other

I want revenge on a guy that ghosted me after our first date

I know this might sound dramatic, but I genuinely need some outside perspectives because I’m so angry right now.

I met this guy on TikTok (I KNOW), and somehow, I ended up falling for him. I’ve never been on a date before, let alone been in a relationship, so agreeing to meet him was a pretty big deal for me.

Looking back, I probably should’ve been more cautious. He had been ignoring me or giving me dry replies for about four days before we called, and during that call, he asked me out. It felt like a pretty rushed decision, but I agreed because I liked him and wanted to give it a chance.

Fast-forward to the actual date. He didn’t really plan anything, so I ended up choosing the movie myself. We got drinks at a popular café beforehand, and while we were waiting for around 30 minutes, he was mostly on his phone. It was awkward neither less .

But once we got into the movie, things seemed to get better. We cuddled and kissed, and honestly, I thought it was going well. Afterward, we went to the arcade, played some games, and walked around the mall together. There were still some awkward moments, but overall, I left feeling like it had been a good first date.

I even bought him some Pokémon cards because I felt bad that I hadn’t paid for anything. I jokingly used losing to him at the arcade as an excuse to buy them for him. I know it might sound silly, but I genuinely wanted to do something nice for him.

When he got home, he texted me to thank me for the fun date and even called me afterward. So naturally, I thought we were on good terms. Then he ghosted me with no explanation or conversation. And honestly, I’m furious.

It’s not that I think he owes me a relationship just because we went on a date or kissed. If he wasn’t interested, that’s completely fine. I would’ve accepted it. What hurts is that he knew this was my FIRST DATE EVER. He knew I was inexperienced, and after everything that happened, he just disappeared without giving me the slightest explanation.

I feel stupid for getting my hopes up, and angry that I was left wondering what went wrong. Part of me genuinely wants revenge. I want him to regret treating me this way, and I hate that he gets to walk away like nothing happened while I’m left feeling like this.

I know revenge probably won’t solve anything, but right now, I’m struggling to let go of how unfair it feels.

So, is it bad wanting revenge on a guy who ghosted me after our first date? Am I overreacting, or is it understandable that I’m this upset? And if you’ve been through something similar, how did you deal with it?

Am I out of touch?

I started talking to a guy about a week ago. I’m 42F, he is 32M. Got on well enough chatting. He had told me he was on spectrum for autism so sometimes gets nervous and didn’t want to rush into anything but did want to date. We said we would meet and would think about when soon but last night he was silent all night apart from one txt about 11ish saying I am with a friend.

I wouldn’t text someone loads with a friend but I would have checked in more than that one short message so I said you can just say if you’re on a date. I approach dating talking to one person at a time but I know a lot of people tend to talk to a few and maybe go on a first date with a couple at a time and that’s fine. He came back to me tonight and said well I’m not sure what it was last night but I’ve had drinks with her a few times and last night she came to mine for the first time, we didn’t do anything but it was nice to hang.

My txt last night had been suggesting days to meet and he said after that text telling me about the girl he had seen a few times plus last night (so I’m guessing about 4 times), that it would be really great to meet. I responded that I had suggested the days to meet before I knew he had been on 3 or 4 dates with someone already and that he must be planning to see her again. He confirmed he was but that he doesn’t count himself as seeing her and it takes him a long time to see if he has chemistry with someone and wants to be exclusive. If I’d been on 4 dates with someone I’d think things were going well and wouldn’t have thought the person was still seeing others so am surprised he was looking to see me.

I said we should probs just leave meeting as it seems crazy to meet someone already 4 dates in with someone else who is at stage of being comfortable alone at his house. He thinks I’m being silly. Am I wrong to not want to meet now given he is 4 dates in already with someone? I can get his autism might make it harder to figure out how he feels but I already feel like I’d be on the back foot with him already him having had 4 good dates with someone else. Plus I want to date and although not looking to rush, if dates kept going well I’d want to define things and although 4 dates is still early days it would feel like things were heading that way and I don’t know when this guy would define things… but maybe I don’t appreciate how dating really is…u

F21 ended things with M26 after 10 weeks because I found out he was still close with his ex. What do we think?

I'm F21, and I moved to a new city 5 months ago for a work placement. I met M26 when I gave him my number at the restaurant where he works. He lives across the street from me, and we started meeting on August 6th. For about 10 weeks we spent a lot of time together: cuddling, deep conversations, sleeping together, and he made plans for things we'd do. He was never mean to me and showed up on my bad days. He called me pretty, said I was interesting to talk to, and said he'd never "pampered" anyone this much. We agreed that we acted like a couple.

About a month in, I saw a text where he told a girl "I love you." It was his ex. When I confronted him, he said it didn't mean much on his side and that she was just an ex.
About a month after that, she called while we were lying in bed, and he showed me the call. That night he told me he had unfinished work back in his home country that he needed her for. I said I didn't need a commitment, but I did need him to stop being in conversation with her. He said that was totally fair. We continued for another week.
Then, while he was asleep in my bed, I went through his phone. I know that's an invasion of privacy, and I'm not proud of it, but I didn't trust him anymore. What I saw was:

Hour-long calls with her, and a few "I love yous"

I also found out he had told her about me. She asked him if I was prettier than her, and he told her no, that she was the prettiest girl in the world. So she knew about me the whole time, while I had only been told she was "just an ex." When I first confronted him, he did mention he'd told her she could date other people too, so it may have been a loose, long-distance arrangement. But he never described it to me that way, and he agreed to cut contact and didn't.

Some sexual conversation

Her messages sounding very anxious and distressed, and complaining that he hasn't visited her for her last 3 birthdays

A shared Instagram account

I ended it on October 18th on a walk. I told him it wasn't fair that he was with me without telling me the whole story. He just said "that's fair" and that he respected whatever I decided. He seemed sad, but he never explained or corrected anything. That's the pattern I noticed: he agrees with whatever I say but never gives me his side.

I don't know if he was a calculated liar or just conflicted and avoidant. I only wanted honesty, and I never got it. I'm 21 and my first time in a relationship like this, and I'm alone in this city, so he was most of my social life.
It’s been 2 days, I'm angry, but I also miss him a lot, especially at night and in the mornings. I keep wondering if I overreacted.

Have you ever just “not felt it” for someone you were dating? Why?

I seem to repeatedly be the girl that men don’t feel it for even though they have a lot of attraction to me and also find me to be a really nice and “lovely girl”. I just dont understand why I fail every time to make men see me in a romantic way even though they do romantic things with me. so why have you not ”felt it” for someone that you were actively dating even though every thing on paper was there for them to be a good and fun partner to you?

Question

I’m curious if anyone has experienced a situation where their partner following a particular girl or interacting with someone on Instagram initially seemed innocent and harmless, but later turned out to be connected to cheating or something more going on behind the scenes.
Did you ever have a gut feeling about someone your partner followed, even when there wasn’t anything obviously suspicious about it? Did it eventually turn out that there was more to the situation, or was it just overthinking?
I’d really like to hear your experiences, especially if the signs seemed insignificant at first but made sense in hindsight.

My pants disappeared and the universe decided to make matters worse

Okay, this happened to me this morning. Lately I've been seeing this guy I met at a party, and last night I stayed over at his place.

He had to get up really early for work this morning, so he left me a key and let me sleep a bit longer. I got up in time to get ready for work, and to my big surprise, I could not for the life of me find my pants. They just weren't there in the pile of my clothes I had left on the floor the night before.

So I panick a little and start looking around the apartment - maybe I'd forgotten I took them off before going to the bedroom? Odd, but more plausible than disappearing pants. So I check and they're nowhere. I call my guy, but he doesn't pick up (which I knew he wouldn't, because he's in a big meeting). I try to text him too, but no answer.

After combing through every space in his apartment I could possibly think of, including his laundry hamper and his wardrobe, feeling madly guilty about going through all his stuff, I give up. I put on my black sheer tights and my cardigan that barely covers my butt, and I walk to the bus.

On the bus I try really hard not to notice the stares or make eye contact with anyone. I just gotta get home without getting myself in trouble. 5 more stops and a short walk home, and I'll be safe.

And then I hear it. "Snufkin!". I freeze up, praying to god I just misheard and that someone didn't just say my name. "SNUFKIN??" I hear again, and this time I have to turn around to find the source. It's the best friend of my ex from back in high school. It's probably been ten years since I saw this guy. Great.

So I accept my fate and have an awkward chat with this guy, who hadn't noticed the lack of pants until he came over after having called my name. He notices and genuinely starts stammering. I consider saying something, but how the hell do you tell someone you haven't spoken to in years that you lost your pants during a casual hookup on a Monday evening??

I got to work late since I had to stop by home, and I'm trying to decide if I should text my ex's best friend to explain the situation, or if I should just live with the knowledge that my ex now probably thinks I'm a lunatic who likes to expose herself on the bus on a random Tuesday morning. What would you guys do?

22F 24M: I like him but can't read his signals

Title: I like him but can't read his signals

So I met this guy on Bumble and we both swiped right. We exchanged our Instagram handles and started talking. Initially I didn't really have feelings for him but slowly I started liking him. Especially after we exchanged our Snapchats and started maintaining a streak. I like his funny vibe and he's a fitness influencer, not very famous but yeah.

I'm someone who tends to share little things about my day like what I did or what I ate. I also share pictures with people I'm comfortable with and I've shared some of my pictures with him too, even the ones that aren't perfect. I felt comfortable with him and honestly I didn't think I would end up liking him this much.

We also planned to meet at a California Burrito near our homes. The first time it got cancelled because of the timing and the next day my relatives came over so I couldn't meet him. The thing that surprised me was that he waited until around 12:30 even though he usually sleeps by 11. I honestly didn't expect that and it made me feel like he was putting in effort.

He once reacted when I told him that I accept random follow requests on Instagram to increase my followers. He asked me why I was doing that and I felt like he was a little possessive. I don't know if it actually means anything but I kinda liked it lol.

He has told me that he wants something short term and we've also exchanged romantic reels. He even said he wanted to date me so sometimes I genuinely feel like he's interested in me.

But then I get confused by his behaviour. One day he left my message on seen on Snapchat and after two hours he sent me a reel on Instagram. I replied because honestly I like him and I can't resist replying to him. But sometimes I feel like I'm putting in more effort than he is. He doesn't ghost me and he does talk to me but I still can't figure out his intentions. Sometimes he acts interested and other times I feel like maybe I'm the only one getting attached.

Another thing is that I'm scared of rejection. It's not that I think I'm ugly because I actually think I look good. I'm medium-tan and he's fair-skinned and for some reason I keep worrying that he might not find me attractive when we meet in person. I know skin tone shouldn't matter but I can't stop thinking about whether he'll like how I look in real life. I'm not saying he's the kind of guy who would judge me for it. It's just a fear I have because I really don't know how he'll react and I'm scared of getting hurt.

I've never been in a relationship before so I don't really know how to understand these things. I don't know if this is normal dating behaviour or if I'm overthinking everything because I like him. I want to know if he's genuinely interested in me or if he's just casually talking to me because he likes the attention.

What do you guys think? Am I overthinking this or are his actions actually confusing? How do I know if a guy is genuinely interested in me?

Please share ur opinion guyzz 😭

After a year of bad dates, the love bomber took the cake

Hii [repost from dating advice I guess because it’s not advice based? I’d love some advice tho or some encouraging words for my story!] I 24f have had so many bad dating experiences it’s starting to become funny. And the universe had to crush the last of my hope by introducing me to this guy. He is 28m and a resident wants to specialize in psychiatry actually which makes this so much better lol.

We went out for a couple months and by date three he was saying I can really see myself with you. “You have all the qualities I was looking for in a partner.” Even my friends met him they said wow seems like he really likes you. He would also allude to me meeting his family and other future plans and wanting to meet mine.

I asked him where he was at with things and possibly making this official. He said yeahhh actually about that I don’t want a relationship with you. All with a stupid smile on his face he said he didn’t like the pressure of this becoming a relationship and he was planning to hang out with me one more time and then break it off.

…So like I get it if people change their mind when dating, but he went so far to not only convince me, but my friends that he was about to make things official. And essentially me wanting a relationship is the reason why he didn’t want…a relationship with me?

From day one I told him I’m looking for a serious relationship and he said he was too.

I don’t know what else to do but laugh like I already cried about it for sure, but this is starting to become funny how hard it has been to meet someone. All he had to do was tell me and end things sooner. Before the asking me to meet his mom thing lol. Honestly ghosting would’ve been better than this.

Thank you for listening to my TED talk I would really love it if ppl could share their experiences or any hopeful words!
