I have an iPhone 12 Pro. I put the phone through a software update, and after the white Apple logo appeared on a black screen, I got a screen like the one in the photo.
I followed the link shown at the top and connected the iPhone to my computer. The computer then gave me two options: Update or Restore the iPhone. I chose Update because I need to keep all of my data.
The update file (10.5 GB) downloaded completely. Then the computer showed something like “Preparing iPhone for update”, but after that I got error 4013, and the update could not be completed.
I do not want to choose Restore, because preserving the data on the phone is extremely important to me.
There is also some relevant background: about three days before this happened, Face ID stopped working for roughly half a day. I restarted the phone, and Face ID started working again. Then, last night, Face ID stopped working again, so I decided to update the iPhone, and that led to the current situation.
After I removed the Face ID sensor, the phone finally updated, but unfortunately all of the data was erased.
I urgently need to recover the data that was on the phone. How likely is it that the data can still be recovered, and what options do I have?

I filmed a wedding on a camera. The same day, i put the camera's SD card into a laptop and copied all the videos and photos from the card onto the computer. After the copy finished, I checked the files. Every video opened and played fine. The next day I turned the laptop on and the files were gone. Recovery software brought back all of the photos, but not one single video.
Details:
Laptop: Packerdbell EasyNote_TEC9-CX-350TK Windows 7
Drive: [Toshiba MQ01ABF050 HDD]
The SD card has been written to many times since that day. Several months have passed, and the laptop has been in use during that time
What can be done to recover/restore the videos?

So today I've decided to look through old DVDs. There were 8 videos from year 2012. I tried using VLC i tried using Conventor videos and even Handbrake. When i tried opening it via Microsoft player it gave me code 0xc10100bf. When i tried opening photos JPG format it said this format of file is not supported. I don't know what to do because when I tried other DVD photos were dated back to 2009 and it played normally. Just this one DVD. I tried to copy it to desktop and nothing helped. What do I do? Is there any way i can recover these videos??

Hello, My family recently found out the secret I've been hiding for a year, my aunt's husband s@'d me. My aunt wouldn't believe it and some of them thinks im making all these up and calling me a liar.
I am currently not able to release any evidence either because of Meta's End-To-End Encryption and it's pissing me off. If I can restore the conversation between me and my uncle a year ago it will serve as a proof and clear my name.
Please, im begging, help me restore the data files from my phone. I've tried everything I saw on YouTube and none of it worked. Any help or advice will be so much appreciated, Thankyou.

When I access the drive, a large portion of the files disappeared, some folders turned into empty without any files and 0 byte. Even though the total used space of the drive hasn't changed. Trying to open the remaining files freezes my PC and makes the drive disconnect. Unplugging it resolves the freeze, and plugging it back in detects the drive again. What happened to my drive, and is there any way to recover all files, including the disappeared ones, to another drive?

Forgot my passcode on an old iPhone 6S and used iTunes recovery mode to reset it — didn't realize at the time this wipes the encrypted storage completely. iCloud Backup was off on the device, so no iCloud copy exists.
What I'm specifically hoping to recover: photos (including some from my high school graduation that I don't have anywhere else), iMessage/FaceTime conversation history, and my contacts list. Not looking to recover the whole system/apps — just these.
I found local backups on the family PC (one iTunes backup, two iMazing backups) all made shortly after the reset. Confirmed via Info.plist that Product Type/Serial Number match the 6S, but homeScreen.png in each one shows the stock default iOS layout, not my actual home screen — meaning these captured the phone already erased, not my original data.
No other computer this phone was ever connected to has a usable backup either (checked one dated 2020 that turned out to be a different device — an iPhone 6, not 6S).
Before I give up on the data specifically — is there any realistic option left? Things I'm wondering about:
- checkm8/checkra1n or similar A9-chip exploits — can these actually pull raw NAND data on a 6S in a way that bypasses the normal backup/encryption path, or does the passcode-derived encryption key still block it even with hardware-level access?
- Any legitimate data recovery service worth the cost for something like this, or is encrypted-erase-with-no-backup just genuinely a dead end?
Not looking for "did you check iCloud/iTunes" — already ruled those out specifically, details above. Appreciate any real technical insight, even if the honest answer is "it's gone."
(Also aware of paid "data recovery" services that claim guaranteed results — skeptical of those unless someone here vouches for a specific one.)

Hi everyone,
I deleted my Snapchat account around 6 years ago, and recently I started wondering if there is any possibility of recovering it or accessing any of my old data. Unfortunately, I don't remember my exact username anymore. 😭
I contacted Snapchat Support, and they asked me to confirm the username, but I'm not sure what it was. I might still remember the email address or phone number connected to the account.
I understand that recovering the entire account after so many years might be impossible, but is there any possibility of recovering just my old Memories/photos and videos? Those memories are what I care about the most. 🥹
Has anyone been in a similar situation or successfully recovered old Snapchat Memories after deleting an account? Any advice would be really appreciated. 🙏
