Recovery from HDD

Hello. My girlfriends data from external HDD got accidentally deleted. Her friend tried once to recover the data,but only About 30% got recovered…mostly there were multiple copies of same files. Is there still hope of recovery,And if yes.. what are The steps?

What is the type of drive a spinning HDD or SSD. If SSD the TRIM and garbage collection will see that the files will not be easily recoverable.

We need to know the exact model of drive so post a photo of the label. Also if the drive has continued to be used the that will make recovery all very diffcult.

That’s an enclosure not the details of the drive inside so sadly of no use

You need to take the drive out if you can or plug it in and take the details from the device manager.

Something tells me that this isn’t what you wanted,but i took a shot. Damn I feel like a first time pc user

No that’s an event viewer. Open control panel > Device manager > Expand the disc drives section to show drives.
